  1. RubixCog says:

Coming from a person that wears a 5 1/2 in heels, this happens all the time.

  2. jee says:

How can a shoe be comfortable if its wrong size?

    • Me :D says:

Darn, beat me to it :(

      Anyways, my mom and I have trouble with this. She’s a 5 womens, I’m a 14 mens.

      I r sasquatch.

    • M33KS says:

That’s exactly what I was going to say.

    • sevenmarie says:

for example-you tried it on and then shopped around some more and it was gone when you got back

or you try on the next bigger size and its great except it is too loose

or it would be comfortable if it was in your size

    • Tourist on this planet says:

If the shoe is too big, it won’t hurt, but still doesn’t fit.

    • Hammockguy says:

      /agree

    • Jami says:

      I can see it.

I’m a 6 1/2 Wide. When shopping for women’s dress shoes it usually turns out that the one shoe with a heel short and thick enough for me to walk on, with plenty of arch support, cushioning on the bottom, and a rounded toe – they never have it in a wide. Narrow, regular, sometimes a wide 7 or even a wide 7 1/2. But never a 6 1/2 wide.

So the one pair that would be comfortable, they never have in my size!

  3. sevenmarie says:

    so sad! so true!

  4. radar says:

I never have this problem, but that might because I generally pick up a pair of surplus army boots once a year….DON’T JUDGE ME

  5. SKW says:

I’m a US women’s size 11. I know EXACTLY what you mean. I usually end up getting men’s walking shoes…

    • faunablues says:

And for the most part, manufacturers don’t even seem to know how to make dress shoes over size 10. They seem to think it’s like sewing two size 5’s together… feet *do* get wider as they get bigger. ò_ó

      • jamisings says:

Hey, try being my mom. She’s a 5 1/2 wide. A whole size smaller then me. Shoe companies in America have STOPPED making any shoes under size 6 because the average women’s shoe size is an 8 narrow!
Your shoes may not be attractive, but at least they still try to make shoes in your size.
I swear, if I ever get famous one of my side companies will be a company that makes affordable custom made shoes for women who are hard to fit. (One foot bigger then the other for instance.)

    • cc says:

Try being a 10 1/2–that size doesn’t even exist in most stores.

    • kyasarin says:

I’m a 9 1/2. Fine in America. Nonexistent in Japan. Guess where I live?

      *sob*

Yeah, it’s given me no end of sympathy for my size 12 BFF. Basically, she shops online.

      • SKW says:

Oh yeah, and shopping for shoes online sucks too! Because you don’t get to try them on first so if the designers have any size wiggle room, you’re often stuck.

    • starling says:

My left foot is 1 1/2 sizes smaller than my right foot. My right foot is narrower than my left foot. Meh.

  6. Imashelcha says:

    Bye bye, Graphjam.
I have been an RSS subscriber for over a year, but this crappy form of Venn diagrams where every two-set-intersection is just a negation of the third has become overwhelmingly common, and this one is the last straw.
Enjoy your future days of mediocrity.

  7. Meg says:

My conundrum too. Except I wear the same size shoe as the majority of the population. *sighs* So usually by the time I go shoe shopping all the shoes I like in my size are gone. v.v

  8. King Graphjam says:

This does not apply to me, for I have skull-styled Tony Hawks.

  9. Some Guy says:

Woah, just like every other venn diagram on this site. Amazing.

  10. Cait says:

Yet another reason to ditch the shoes and go around barefoot…..

  11. Xeno says:

Definitely true for Fivefingers… comfortable and nice looking, but expensive! Still worth the money though.

  12. Yuichi says:

Wow… another three element Venn diagram where every intersection of 2 elements is lamenting the lack of the third, and the intersection of all 3 is labeled as non-existent. How creative. 2/5.

  13. Johnny Action Finger says:

Dammit … impropper graph once again … learn how the graph works b4 using it and looking like a fool … with your graph on the ground.

  14. MrSeagull says:

Once again, the internet shows it ignorance when it comes to proper Venn diagrams.
Who the hell keeps voting these to the front page?

  15. Emily. says:

This is so freaking true. But then again, nothing is EVER in my size.

  16. bugwitch says:

There needs to be a circle that encompasses the entire graph that says: Made in China.

  17. neeter says:

“make your feel bleed.” ROTF….ah, the memories…. the first 2 weeks of USAF Basic Training were spent putting a size 8 1/2W US in a size 8.

  18. I have 5 years of not feel my feet :(

    damn shoes! :@
