You all suck
THAT is a BAD username!
I’m interested as to what ‘exitment’ is…
A quantification of how much a given person desires to exit.
+9.3 points for trying too hard!
Apparently dogs senses are so much more acute than ours that a ride to the a store (head out of the window) is a more exhilerating than anything a human can experience.
We don’t know what we are missing… apparently.
Man, I hated long car rides when I was a kid. It was during one going to Niagara Falls that I discovered that I hated 5th Dimension because the parents kept playing an album of them. They’re more tolerable when you grow up and have a sense of time.
Unless you’re driving through Ohio. Corn is boring.
or Kansas, in November and December. Everything is dead. There is no color other than black and the brown of dead grass. No trees. Nothing on the side of the highway. Just endless black highway, dead grass and rocks.
“This is Kansas, miles and miles of nothing but miles and miles.”
Don’t forget central Texas (Amarillo, etc). Nothing but flat land, as far as the eye can see, dotted with an occasional cow.
Try long drives through New Hampshire listening to Irish music. Seriously, little kids should not be subjected to songs like “Whiskey in a Jar”, “Whiskey on a Sunday”, “Moonshiner” and “In Heaven There is no Beer” while Dad polishes off at least a six pack from the driver’s seat (it was the 1970’s).
When I first read that, I was wondering how the six pack was driving the car.
The graph is missing College students, who would fall just behind dogs in excitement level.
ROADTRIP!!!
I think the Kid’s section should stop at about the “How much Longer” line. The never ending “are we there yet” question.
Are we there yet?
no~!!! we’re not even halfway -_-”
hehe, sounds just like my sister a few years ago,, had to travel for an hour, after 10 min: how much longer will it take??
she was worse than i was with that XD
I dunno, “long trip” has a limit even to dogs…I moved from Dallas to Columbus, driving with my dog in tow, which is about 17 hour drive. He was excited for about the first two hours, then you could tell he was tired of it.
And I hated long car trips as a kid too. Myself and three siblings in a car driving cross-country with our parents…not very fun at all.
I enjoy long car trips; I’d do it forever if it weren’t for gas prices and my food needs. You just need a good soundtrack.
Kids like long car rides? Come now…
I think ‘kids’ should be replaced with ‘driver’, and ‘parents’ replaced with ‘everyone else’
Nobody likes long car rides, (except maybe the dog) I don’t like them and my parents didn’t either, one ride, it was horrible (long story), Next same drive, I kept my distance.
Worse place to be is when you’re cramped in the back.
I got a headache from riding in the family car, but it was better to drive my dodgy Ford station wagon, no A/C, a hole in the exhaust, squeaked and creaked, many other issues, but it was better to drive and ride in, more leg room in the back
That’s kind of a broad generalization, “Nobody likes long car rides.” I do, quite a lot.
My dog loathes every second he’s in a car. I had to do a long road trip with him, and he was going insane. But he couldn’t resist sticking his head out the window. Other than that, my dog would be in the “kill me” zone.
The worst part about long trips has to be the intolerable music that someone in your family will inevitably love and you seem to be the only one who has a problem with it.
= 70’s music.
We took a 3 week family vacation with 3 kids and 3 dogs cross country. The dogs were definitely better behaved than the kids! The 16yo missed her bf, and the 12yo & 8yo spent all their time bickering at each other. In the end though, they still tell us they were glad they took the trip because they never would have seen the rest of the country and met the most amazing people if they hadn’t.
The worst part about long car rides are the seats that don’t allow leg movement. When you sit down for long periods of time, heat makes certain parts sticky.
Eh, I usually just sleep on long car rides.
No, no, it’s:
Kids = kill me
Dogs = how much longer
Parents = AWSOME!!!!1!!!!11
Unless, of course, it’s exploring dirt roads deep into the forests that haven’t been used since a logging operation.
Then…
Kids = AWSOME!!!!1!!!!11
Dogs = how much longer
Moms = kill me
Dads = W00T
No, kids do not like long car rides. Nobody likes long car rides, NOBODY.
