  1. Homer says:

CLEARLY, the maker of this graph has not been to my office.

  2. Iridian says:

I’m a 26 year-old and I’d have to say I’m somewhere in between “ugh piece of sh*t” and “DIE! kill it! KILL IT!” leaning more towards the latter with every TV spot I see LOL

  3. SSD says:

I’m 27 and I have to admit that I’m thrilled to pieces that my husband bought us tix to see it tonight (opening weekend!!!). The graph is wrong.

  4. John says:

Do you have any idea how many adult women I’ve spoken to that are crazier about this movie than most teenagers?

    • feistycat says:

Agreed. I’m 35 and female. I have no interest AT ALL in the books or movies. But I personally know at least a dozen women my age that are totally gaga over this crud. Kill it!

  5. Aaaaargh says:

Does every woman become a twimom at a certain age? That’s new to me.

  6. Kristin says:

Obviously whoever made this graph was not at the theater last night as midnight approached. Highly underestimating the 21-30 population.

    • ay dios mio says:

I think they’re just assuming that 21-30 = Educated in literature.

I think it comes down to education more than age. That’s why all high school girls seem to like it (literature is almost gone from there), and I’ve yet to meet a college grad who can stand it.

      • Jules says:

I’m studying literature, and I do have fellow students who are going crazy over Twilight. But still, it just has no depth whatsoever.
Now, from a cultural studies perspective this kind of mania is of course pretty interesting…

  7. Orzo says:

Ugh, yargh. The books were torturous to get through; the first movie was crud. I couldn’t stand to sit through a second one. That said, I’m over 30 but not a mom; and I will point out that “twi-mom” is not an age. If you’re going to use non-quantitative labels on your x-axis, you should make them all non-quantitative and relabel it “type” or some such, and then rename it something more appropriate because “in relation to age of girl” does not leave much room for middle-aged moms.

    I’m just sayin’.

  8. Grace says:

Nooo, college girls LOVE Twilight. (except for this one, of course) But you wouldn’t believe how many statuses on facebook last night said they were at the damn movie.

    • TwiFail says:

Ughh, I know… my friend and I held an anti-twilight movie night last night in hopes that we could block out the fangirl squeals that seem to have a range of around 1 mile.

  9. Hayden says:

This is ironic. My 10 year old sister doesn’t like Twilight but my mom is a massive fangirl.

Kill me. She has the hots for a pedophile.

  10. Moonshine says:

I’m 28 (girl) and I thought about Twillight: zomg GREAT movie !!! When can I see part 2?

  11. No says:

Umm… Not right. 16-20 range and I hope to GOD that this Twilight crap dies within the next three years. I hate it with a passion.

    • I-Luv_HP says:

i don’t think it will ver die, but it will go down over the next three years cus all the movies and dvds will be out

      • Isildo says:

It will fade down to a rabid cult following, just like Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings. I’m sad to see one of those go, guess which one.

        • I-Luv_HP says:

I Luv Harry Potter, hence the name, lol. I din’t care much for lord of the rings, aside from elijah wood it was stupid. or i thought it was, obviously alot of people didn’t. But i will follow the Harry Potter books and movies forever :D My name really should be I-Luv_DM cus draco malfoy is to die for, lol. anyway.

  12. Fjardeson says:

The fastest way to fix a Twilight fan is give her an Anita Blake novel. :)

    • ay dios mio says:

No that doesn’t work. I actually made a girl read Anne Rice and then she tole me Twilight was better.

    • Hope says:

Have you READ the latest anita blake novels? I swear to god she’s turned into the British Underground. Sex sex sex sex death sex murder sex who cares sex sex sex. I mean, great Laurell, you went and got remarried, but damn lay off the sex for a while. I want a little mystery and crime and junk.

  13. sjerrie says:

im 14, and for the books im in the right category (books are ZOMGZ! f*ing great!, but that’s just my opinion:P) for the first movie (havent seen the second 1 yet) I’d say piece of sh*t :p

now I don’t know in what category I belong :(

new moon sounds promising though,, MORE TAYLOR LAUTNER!:O

    ghehe

  14. duck says:

Totally not true about the 16-30 demographic. All the girls at the college I go to are quite twilight-crazy.

  15. w00tgirl says:

    Go 21-30! w00t!

  16. LeAnna says:

I’m 22 and I’m a fan. I’m not crazy about it, but I can get gushy lol.

    • Isildo says:

Glad to know I’m not the only one in the middle ground. I don’t think it’s toilet-paper worthy, but I’ve read so much better.

  17. majahhh says:

I’m 15 and I freaking hate Twilight, I wish the whole phenomenon would crawl into a hole and die.

    • Alice says:

AYE. I’m about 14, will be 15 soon, and I wish the series would die too. :/

    • MrBobFirefarter says:

I want to eject Twilight and everything associated with Twilight into a star that then goes supernova, then collapses into a black-hole, which collapses in on itself past the point of a singularity.
Then some other universe’ll have to deal with it. :D

    • Isildo says:

“Mr. Banner shoved the tape into the reluctant VCR.”

      My favorite Twilight gem.

  18. wootah says:

My wife made me sit through the first movie last week. Holy Christ it was awful. I don’t think a movie has ever made me roll my eyes as much as this one did. TERRIBLE. TERRIBLE. TERRIBLE. SOMEONE MAKE IT GO AWAY!

  19. wootah says:

perhaps your friends are secretly on crack

  20. Squiddy Attack says:

I’m 14 and hate Twilight, but I don’t wish it would die — it’s interesting to see people go insane over it.

  21. p. h. says:

Sign if you would be at the bottom of this graph.

    p. h.

  22. AlexK says:

*shiver* Ugh, Twilight. I’m 17, and all I heard in my math class for the past week was “X days until Twilight!!!!!!!” I was about to kill that girl. Seriously.

  23. KP says:

Ugh, twilight makes the Jonas Bros look badass.

  24. Noelle says:

I object! :) I am 16 and I do NOT like Twilight in the slightest!
I had no idea why anyone was so excited today and then my little sister (obsessed freak) said
” like, omg, like, new moon is like, coming out.”
I always knew twilight was gay! (in the stupid definition, not the straight vs. not straight way.)

  25. Tioka12 says:

I’m a teenager, and I really can’t stand Twilight, the book or the movie.

  26. EmO_gUy_LoVeS_tHe_BoOkS says:

Personally, I am a HUGE Twilight fan, I have just seen New Moon, and it was ‘OMFG!ZOMFG!!!11!!!’ much better than the first one! Chris Weitz is a better director then Hardwicke. :D
    p.s. im a guy and im 14 :P

  27. Rachel says:

Personally, I find the haters much more annoying and prevalent the the people who enjoy it. I was at a midnight showing last night(there was no squealing…, just people out trying to enjoy themselves…). The only time twilight gets mentioned is in a conversation with my friends. Other than that I don’t understand why everyone is so bother by all the fans. Where do you see them besides at the movie, and why would you be there in the first place? And the haters? Annoying? Examples from just this board:”I always knew twilight was gay!” “Anyone who doesn’t hate it is insane.” “I wish the whole phenomenon would crawl into a hole and die.”. I mean seriously? Why is this affecting your life so much? I honestly really do not understand it.

    • Lalatin says:

Its because when you run into one of those annoying fans who is in LOVE with it they bitch at you for hating it. Trust me. I got in a spat with a girl. She HIT ME WITH THE BOOK when I said I didn’t think it was a good story.

Besides a lot of people just think it doesn’t deserve the hype its gotten so they are just wanting it to go away already.

      • Casa says:

I will admit to being a fan. It’s a guilty pleasure… maybe it’s the sights I tend to be on but the haters are much more rabid than the fan girls.

Crazyest fangirls I’ve seen were the Legolas ones…. those girls were WILD.

  28. Rose says:

My mom has turned into a scary twi-mom and I would like to stab all the characters to death. I’m 13. We have an inverse relationship from the average family…

  29. C says:

I’m 24 years old, have a college education–and I love this series. Thanks for all the stereotypes (such as the person who said they don’t know any college grad who likes them) but they are not entirely correct. I’m not claiming they’re especially well-written (they’re not) or that they’ll be required lit in 50 years (they probably won’t). I’m just saying they’re a fun read and I really enjoy them. Just thought I’d throw my two cents in there! :)

    • ay dios mio says:

That was me, and the fact that you couldn’t figure out how to use the reply button to my comment makes me question the validity of you graduating college.

    • Isildo says:

The quality of Meyer’s writing was not at all bad. My problem was with the flat characters–each one had exactly one aspect, except Edward, and when I put his together I found a dangerous sociopath–and the uninteresting plot that doesn’t even start until halfway through the book. There were several moments I really liked, times I read something that Edward did and thought, “That sounds like something my fiancee would do to me!” But for the most part, I was unimpressed.

    • Abelle says:

Thank you :) I am in College now and I am of the same opinion – I enjoyed reading the books. While they are not astoundingly well written, they are a fun read. There’s nothing wrong with us, people just have different tastes. As for the people who know fans that violently (smacked you with a book?haha) try to get haters to change their minds, that’s just unfortunate, they’re not really helping themselves at all.

  30. HayleyKat says:

I’m 17..and I loathe twilight so so much.
Give me bloodsucking monsters over sparkling twerps anyday

  31. Lalatin says:

19, going on 20 soon. Totally think it needs to die. I cant wait till it fades off the map and real vampire stories come back. DRACULA :D

Meyers cant write worth crap, Edward is an abusive asshole, Bella is a weak girl. And well they ARENT VAMPIRES. More like Fairy…..

  32. iohvfb says:

    Ummm….I’m 11…and I’ve read the whole saga
    Don’t generalize…

  33. teezboy says:

brad pitt and tom cruise .. now those we´re movie vampires.. long live the 90´s

    xD

  34. Curiosa says:

Perhaps this should have been named as appeal of Robert Pattinson in relation to blah. It is him that makes the teen girls go crazy. I’m 22 and I quite like Twilight saga because of the romance thing. Pattinson is just another actor, who doesnt even light me up.

I’d love to go and see New Moon but I think I’ll go insane with all those annoying teen girls screaming every time Robert is on the screen. Waiting for the DVD then..

  35. gow says:

you should also put relation of twilight to age of guys then the whole chart would be straight forward just draw a line at the bottom

  36. Nicole says:

The books are poorly written…there’s no depth, no character development, no elaboration on anything. But looking passed that, there is a story that I can see would appeal to the masses. That being said the movies are better because any person who has studied literature would struggle to get through the book for it’s numerous mistakes.

    • Isildo says:

I’m an English major and I cruised through Twilight fairly quickly. I think I noticed fewer language and usage mistakes in the whole book than in your post.

  37. Cammy says:

im 15 and ma sis is into twilight so much its creepy. and i hav a twi-mom. but the worst part is i hav to sit and listen to “it was so good” and “OMFG!!!!!!!11!!!!!!!!” sice they saw it but i saw 3 days b4 it came out and it was awful. new moon is worse than the first one.

  38. Tara says:

Lost Boys. League of Extraordinary Gentleman (Rock on Bride of Dracula.). Van Helsing. These are three of the newer movies that are worthy of being called vampire movies.

Vampires are monsters. They don’t go around befriending teenage girls (Except to eat them). The whole premise of Twilight is some chicks idea of showing different doesn’t always mean bad. Wrong. Vampires and Werewolves are the monsters folks.

    • Him says:

That’s why I watch Hellsing. Sure, it’s Japanese anime. Sure, some of the characters in there could be described as “eye candy.” But good God, it hits that particular nail–er, stake–on the head. Neither vampire nor werewolf, if they existed, would want to cavort with some random teenager if there wasn’t an unwilling meal at the end.

  39. ky says:

i’m 14 and i’m of the DIE!! KILL IT!!! opinion. :P

  40. Rachel says:

Oh, one more thing, I am pretty sure a extremely well written book=it should be enjoyed, the inverse of people claiming that twilight is not well written, therefore it sucks. School anyone? These masterpieces that no one enjoys? Yes, they are well written, but it doesn’t mean I like them. Twilight is a fantasy romance that doesn’t require too much depth. Jeez, you haters confuse me.

    • Isildo says:

They wouldn’t be considered masterpieces if no one liked them. What happened is that someone who graduated high school and college–the latter probably more than once–read the books and were impressed by the quality of language, development of characters, development and presentation of the plot, and/or relevance to important themes of the time they were written or, more common, to all times. How many of these does Twilight have?

      • sunny says:

…none. the language is okay, but the plot and characters are, for the most part, totally half-assed. cookie-cutter bad guy/good guy characters piss me off. gaping plotholes and pathetically illogical actions by the characters piss me off, as well. Twilight has both, in abundance.

  41. Anonymous says:

Based on a random sampling of females where I live, this graph should be a red bar across the entire top.

  42. Robin says:

I’m 11-15 and I fit into the “Not interested” category.
    It’s a book. Just. A. Freakin. Book.

  43. Harlooo says:

Man, I hate the series and the movies. I don’t usually have such strong negative feelings towards things, but I’ve had so many obsessed fans trying to shove it down my throat. It’s just an overglorified romance novel. It’s something you’d find on fictionpress.com.

And regarding the “well-written books that no one likes”? I LOVE well-written books. I was in love with Les Miserables (though, it did have many superfluous parts), One Flew over the Cuckoo’s Nest, and To Kill a Mockingbird. The classics are the only factor that has kept me from swearing off fiction altogether.

  44. Lady Hammond says:

I’m 22 and I think DIE EVIL DIE when Twilight is mentioned and my best friend is 22 too and she thinks its the best thing ever!

  45. Taryn says:

I’m 15 and I totally think it needs to die. Way overrated imo.

  46. Cyberra says:

I’m 24 and in the “KILL IT!!!” CATEGORY

  47. Shanster says:

15 and a make-fun-of-it sorta person. My friends and I watched the new movie just to make fun of it… and a Twimom yelled at us. Puh-thetic.

  48. Moo says:

I’m 17 and in the “KILL IT!!” category. I think all the other teenage girls like it because they’re empty-headed, but I guess all the Twimoms are unsatisfied with their marriages or something.

  49. sunny says:

i’m not old enough to be a mother, let alone a mother of a girl old enough to read. hell, i’m 14. and yet, i find myself in the “DIE!! KILL IT! KILL IT!!” category. ….though, fine, i was obsessed for a month or so last year, along with my friend… sadly, we are the only two “fully recovered” Twilight addicts i’ve met so far. *shakes head in pity* such a low recovery rate. :’( -Sunny

  50. sunny says:

oh, and btw…there was a frighteningly large number of ladies like, in their 40’s there…and there were these 2….um, how to put the delicately…fat 40-year-old looking ladies in front of us, who seemed absolutely riveted during the entire New Moon showing. …i think my friends’ and my commentary during the whole thing (“yeah, bella. why DON’T ya go on a motorcycle ride with some random dude so ya can hallucinate about the guy who dumped you?” “eew, i just threw up a little in my mouth”) may have marred the experience for them just a little…no matter, it was prolly the fifth time they’ve seen it since it came out. but Jake was hot, and the special effects for the werewolves rocked. and the part where eddie got pwned by the volturi. XD -Sunny-

  51. Christina C. says:

I’m proud to say that I am twelve years old and have only read approx. one paragraph of the first book and have not seen the movie(s). There are plenty of “meh” books out there, but how it garners such a huge fanbase is beyond me. Each to his own, I suppose…

If/when I have children, I’m ensuring that they’re exposed to some good literature, and shielding them from the “Twilight” of that age. ><

I'd be in the "not interested" if it weren't for the fans, but… I'd say I'm definitely in the "DIE! kill it! KILL IT!" range.

  52. Xen says:

I fall into the 16-20 category, but my opinion – ‘DIE! kill it! KILL IT!’ , doesnt quite sum up the hatred I feel for twitards.

  53. Krys says:

Twilight series starts out with teenagers making out….and I’m over thirty so it’s kind of weird.

It’s like a teenage girl’s extended wet dream of making out with vampires and werewolves….

    Teenage Goth Girl Porn

  54. Hoagie says:

Did the leader of the Volutri remind anyone else of Willy Wonka at times?

  55. Dez says:

There are haters and fans of all ages. A majority of fans may be tweens, a majority of haters may be adults. please stop commenting “I H8 TWILITE CUS EVRYBODY DOSE &&&& IM A TWEEN SO HA LUL”.

  56. Anthony says:

I’m 14 years old and am a freshman in highschool but I don’t see any girls in my classes who obsess over Twilight.

  57. Dunners says:

Good gawd, kill it please!. Just walk up to a load of twilight fans and just listen for about 30 seconds then yell “I prefer …. (insert van Helsing, Blade, Underworld here)… !” then duck to avoid being slapped…

All mentioned are much better, at least the vampires are cool and they films have a good plot/ awesome fight scenes. CAn’t stand why this even got made, tis stupid nad IMHO fails to understand human emotion at all. Stupid woman.

  58. Tori says:

Well, in a lot of cases I’m sure this is true….. However, I’m a 14-year-old girl, and all I have to say is:

    “KILL IT. KILL IT. PLEASE.”

  59. theRealTeapot says:

My brother and I dislike twilight – My father is a “twilight Mum”

  60. Sliverbane says:

(31 and sane!) – I became physically ill [headache] after reading 50 pages of that crap. I called my friend who suggested I read her copy and said to her ‘Come get this crap out of my house!’ When she couldn’t make it I told her I would burn it….

  61. blackiekat says:

i’m 13 and i’m in the “DIE! KILL IT!! KILL IT!!” category, i prefer Alucard from Hellsing, now THAT be one nummy vamp ;3

  62. Val says:

I’m 15, and I’m in the “Kill it” catagory. =P

  63. Piepin says:

13 and proud to have punched a New Moon poster in Target yesterday.

  64. Elizabeth says:

I like the books, but everyone freaking out about them kinda ruined it. I’m deffinentily in the die! Kill it! Zone

  65. Eliza says:

I’m a fourteen year old girl and in the “kill it” category. I’m proud to have dismembered two cardboard cutouts of Edward and Bella with my sister. XD

  66. Kira says:

I am so not in support of Twilight. You must have us 11-15 year olds mixed up with the people who should be in mental hospitals. I’m sane and I’m not shouting the following:
(WARNING! THE FOLLOWING MAY HURT YOUR EYES!)
    ZZZZZZZZZZOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG DUDDDDDEEE!!!!111!!1!1! TWIIGHT IZ AWSUMZ!!!1!!!!11!11!!1! U NO NUTIN!!!!1!1!!11111!!!1!!

    … I gave myself a headahce… *sighs*
