Makes no sense. Almost all of them point left or right.
wow fail at understanding a simple graph
Yes. You must have missed the word “should.”
The shirts SHOULD point up. Because the stupid one is wearing the shirt.
You follow?
How the F* does that fit in a pie chart then
Comment-on-comment-fail. This chart implies that about 25% of the “I’m with stupid”-T-shirts point to the left or right. The other 75% doesn’t, which is stupid because that’s the joke and there’s no reason to put “I’m with stupid” on a T-shirt if it doesn’t point left or right. Howerver, this chart implies that 75% doesn’t point left or right anyway. And in those cases, it is supposed to point up. WTF.
Total misunderstanding of piecharts, both the poster and Ilive2learn, I’m sorry to say.
Totally agree with Humm.
If you think through it creatively enough, it works.
I don’t know, maybe my brain is just weird.
…wait, that maybe shouldn’t be there. It’s for sure that my brain is weird.
But anyway, the graph doesn’t really have to be a good-quality graph as long as the joke itself makes sense. But that’s just my opinion, your allowed to have yours.
noooo the graph’s gotta make sense! that’s what this blog is all about! without the graphs, it would be just a boring blog with jokes. the original goal was incorporating the graphs into the jokes, thats whats cool here, seeing a joke in the shape of a graph. now this graph is poorly made, so the joke is lost… shame… even worse, the guys in ICHC who decided to post it here are not even paying attention to the proposal. and people who thought this was good didnt understand the graph. they’d laugh with a simple text saying that “i’m with stupid” shirts should have an arrow pointing up. i totally wouldnt subscribe to a blog that posted sentences like that…
late response.
Yes it has to make some kind of sense, but not 100% accurate. I’m not going to make a full research for a simple graph that 10% of times will go to the homepage…
It doesn’t work. It should have been a Ven diagram, that way all I’m with stupid shirts could file under ‘should point up’ while half also qualify as points left and half as points right.
As it is, those that point left and those that point right do not qualify under ‘should point up’. Meaning that all of the ones that do not point left or right should point up.
Fact: This should be a Venn Diagram.
Bonus fact: Awful joke even if it was done properly. It’s predictable and you know the punch line as soon as you see the title of the graph.
That’s like making mathematical questions while you have no knowledge of even basic maths at all. Doesn’t work.
Then just say the joke: “you know, whereas most ‘I’m with stupid’-T-shirts point left or right, mostly they have to point up”… Not entirely funny, but it doesn’t become any funnier if you put a chart around it which makes no sense. That’s like writing a bad joke and then draw a picture of a car around it to make it funnier. Or something.
I don’t mind if there’s little details of a graph or chart which a scientist would have done a little different. But this graph is just entirely wrong
Again, your stupidity astounds me.
You are the most idiotic person I have ever, well, typed. YOU should be wearing the one with the arrow pointing up.
They’d be stupid to wear the shirt. Either stupid or schizophrenic.
lolololol im actually wearing a shirt with the arrow pointing up, might upload a pic later
There are T-shirts that say “I’m with genius” and they point up.
You don’t even have to be a genius to wear it, though. Quoted from the site I found them on: “Little Johnny could have the IQ of a grapefruit and still have enough neurons to purchase this fine garment.”
I have a shirt pointing up too! LOVE IT!
Bought it at a Pet Shop Boys show… well worth the money!
Okay. So… Ten percent of them point left, ten percent of them point right, and none of those that point left or right should point up. But where do the eighty percent that should point up actually point?
This has got to be the worst one yet. A pie chart is not a difficult concept.
Guess the creator of the graph would need a shirt with the up-pointing arrow on it then?
Perhaps the ones that don’t point left or right point down instead?
I agree, though. This graph was not thought out at all.
But wouldn’t that be appropriate for most of us males?
That was kinda what I was thinking when I wrote it.
As Robin Williams once said, “God gave man a brain and a penis and only enough blood to run one at a time.”
You just outsmarted yourself. FAIL.
This should really be a Venn Diagram. It doesn’t work as a pie chart.
I agree. I was just checking to see if someone else said it first.
Graph Jam needs to tighten up its standards a bit I think.
OMG I GOT THE FIRST COMMENT
Percent of this graph that should have been a venn diagram instead of a pie chart: 100%
The creator should be wearing the shirt with the arrow pointing up.
wth, the idea is good, but the person who did this obviously don’t understand graphs… i hope this website doesnt start making nonsense graphs just for the jokes, it will totally lose its meaning
How Ironic, I’m wearing an “I’m with genius shirt” right now.
That’s not actually ironic, it’s a coincidence.
Actually, since it appears you don’t know how to use the word correctly, it is ironic that you’re wearing the shirt. Not in relation to the graph, but because you’re so clearly not a genius.
Thank you for pointing that out. I was wrong to point out what I thought was ironic but wasn’t. However writing rude remarks and belittling others intelligence is usually not considered genius, either.
yeah but he didnt say he was
woah, way to take it in stride, dude.
Sorry, I can’t stride, my knee is really sore at the moment. Oh wait, were you not being literal? Oh, shoot.
I guess someone’s rudeness isn’t strongly related to his intelligence and therefore that conclusion is incorrect.
However, I do think it’s ironic in some way.
Looks to me like its ironic.
Please disregard my “A” key not working.
Wow, that’s a terrific paradox. His misuse of the word “ironic” makes the word’s use appropriate.
not a paradox
I most certainly would like to meet that shirt of yours.
Is it just me or is the “point to the left” category bigger than the “point to the right category” ? I don’t see why that would be..
Coincidence? It’s not very likely that, with loads of those kind of T-shirts, there are exactly as many pointing left as pointing right
i actually have seen ones that point up, it’s kinda funny
Reminded me of this;
“Today I had no other shirts to wear except my “I’m with stupid” t-shirt I got as a gag-gift. My friend showed up at school today wearing her Twilight shirt with Edward’s face on it. I feel the world knows… MLIA” lul
Actually, for most of us guys, the arrow should point down
Yes, it’s true this should have been a venn diagram. This makes no sense as a pie chart. The concept is funny, however, it would have been more sensible to create it using the venn diagram. Basically, the creator just wasted a perfectly good joke by being inaccurate.
Shouldn’t some of them point down?
No. Didn’t you see the graph? Clearly not.
It doesn’t say! about 75% should point up, but maybe the 25% that points left or right should point down. That should be put into this chart. To make it more clear and accurate, or something.
No, no; I think the poster knew what he/she was doing. The graph means that it’s stupid for anyone to wear a shirt that says “I’m With Stupid” but doesn’t have an arrow on it, but where the poster comes from these are nonetheless the most abundant type of “I’m With Stupid” shirts.
i think the author meant 25% of people who wear the shirt have the arrow pointing left or right, and that 75% of people who wear the shirt should have it pointing up
I think that most of us got that.
I understand the grapher’s intent, but the graph does NOT work. Part of the problem is with the title, which should probably be something like, “people who wear ‘I’m with stupid’ t-shirts.” And definitely should have been a Venn diagram to concretely show how one includes the other.
what about “I’m Not With Stupid Anymore” shirts? I wanna see that graph.
This would be much better as a Venn diagram yes?
I guess it’s a good thing my shirt points up
Am I the only one who notices that the two smaller sections are in fact pointing up.
Am I the only one who notices that the two smaller sections are
pointing up.
Seriously, You guys are doing it wrong by getting stuck in a simple joke. What if the graph doesn’t say what side is pointing the ones that should point up? or what if the technical side of the graph is failing? Use ur f*cking imagination and get the damn graph.
I mean, it’s so simple! only 3 values, the creator just had a quick idea and that’s ALL! If you can’t get a simple joke as this one… GTFO off GraphJam!
“I mean, it’s so simple! only 3 values…” Then why not get it right? We all understood what they were trying to say, but at least in my opinion, the error here sort of swallowed the humor it began with.
Yes. +1
Guys, it was a mistake, plain and simple. This should have been a Venn diagram, not a pie chart. The current implication is that, if the arrows DON’T point left or right, then they should point up. “Should point up” should include, not exclude, the other options.
I have a shirt that says “I’m not with stupid anymore”.
It’s arrow points to the left.
