I actually memorized the song. Silly people.
Don’t you mean Shiny, Happy People?
Holding hands?
i like holding hands
6 O’Clock TV Hour, don’t get caught foriegn tower, slash and burn return, listen to your self churn, book burning, blood letting
uh-oh this means no beer, cavaliear, renegades, stear clear. Turn a minute, turn a minute, turn a minute, right (right)
isn’t it tournament, tournament, tournament of lies. offer me solutions, offer me alternatives and I decline
It is indeed. You also left out a few phrases here and there… and misspelled the ones you did include…
FISRT
I can’t decide if you’re wrong about being first or if “fisrt” is some new internet slang for “second”.
Forever Interpreting Suitable REM Transcripts?
ALL HAIL THE IMPROMPTU ACRONYM GETTER OUTER, or IAGO!
Are you sure it isn’t “All hail the caps-lock key”?
Seriously, why make your entire comment upper-case except the word “or”?
Because or isn’t special.
Caps-lock – It’s cruise control for cool.
(Don’t forget, even with cruise-control, you still have to steer.)
you forgot LEONARD BERNSTEIN!
That song is just an excuse to shout “Leonard Bernstein”
WHY THE HELL DO YOU NEED AN EXCUSE???
PLUS, YOU STOLE THAT FROM “PEARLS BEFORE SWINE.”
YES! LEONARD BERNSTEIN!!!
Totally what I was going to say. I used to work at blockbuster and that song was on our trailer reel. After about a week all the employees would shout LEONARD BERNSTEIN at the appropriate moment.
This is a travesty!
Lenny Bruce is not afraid.
You blew it – big time. You ruined a great opportunity. The post should have had “Lenny Bruce” as your name, with the comment “I am not afraid.” But no, you had to be lame…
No joke.
But I am afraid.
LEONARD BERNSTEIN!
ME!
I’m pretty sure there was a chart almost exactly like this one before.
Every remake is a remake of a remake.
If every remake is a remake of a remake, what about the first remake? If it was a remake of a remake, then it would not be the first.
Remakes are circular. The first remake is a remake of the last remake. In 2012, the Mayans run out of material to remake, and the cycle starts again.
LEONID BERNSTEIN!
That’s great it starts with an earthquake,
Birds and snakes, an aeroplane,
Lenny Bruce is not afraid.
Eye of a hurricane
listen to yourself churn
world serves its own needs
dummy serve your own needs
Feed it up a knock, speed.
Grunt, no. Strength, no.
Ladder structure clatter
With fear of height,
Down height.
Wire in a fire
Representing seven games
And a government for hire
At a combat site
Feed it off an aux speak.
Speed it up a notch; speed.
AND I FEEL FINE
I’ll take your word for it.
“Smith and Wesson coming in a hurry with the bureaies breathing down your neck”?
Lester was a comin’ in a hurry with the furies breathin’ down, your, neck …
RUN, CHICKEN LITTLE, RUN! THE SONG CLEARLY SAYS IT’S THE END OF THE WORLD! OMFG!!!
OH WHAT THE HECK, GET MICHAEL FORD IN THAT MOVIE AND IT’S ALIEN PROBLEM SOLVED!
“symbiotic patriot slam fight right right feeling pretty psyched”?
You symbiotic, patriotic, slam, fright, bright, light, feelin’ pretty psyched …
“I am a hurricane. Listen to yourself churn. World serves its own needs. Tommy serve your own needs. Speed it up a notch. Speed, grunt, nose, stream”?
“I am a hurricane,” seriously? I had always thought it was “Eye of the hurricane.”
Then again, I remember telling someone for years that I was humiliated that as a child I thought the Michael Jackson lyrics in “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’” were “You’re a vegetable, you’re a vegetable.”
…whence I found out that really is what they lyric is.
It is eye of a hurricane. NP is just a retard.
Really, should have also had a tiny sliver for “Leonard Bernstein” and a slightly bigger sliver for “and I feel fine”.
Yep. But since it doesn’t, I’m a sad tomato.
(different REM song, but I love that phrase so skrew it)
You are correct, sir.
It’s time I had some time alone.
You forgot yelling out “Leonard Bernstein!”
Or did someone else already mention that?
Ah, whoops. Yes, that’s the other portion of the lyrics which I know
I actually know most of the song
Stop mocking me!
anyone actually notice that THIS IS ABOUT A SONG FOR ONCE!!!!
mountains sit in a line…
Six o’clock, TV hour,
don’t get caught in foreign towers
slash and burn, return,
listen to yourself churn,
lock it in, uniform, book burning, blood-letting
every motive escalate, automotive incinerate,
light a candle, light a votive, step down step down,
watch it heel crush crush, uh oh, this means
no fear, cavalier, renegade steering clear
a tournament, a tournament, a tournament of lies
offer me solutions, offer me alternatives, and I decline
midoinitrite?
urdoinitrite
I actually DO know all the lyrics to “It’s the End of the World as We Know It (and I Feel Fine)” as well as the lyrics to “What’s the Frequency, Kenneth?” (also by REM) “We Didn’t Start the Fire” (Billy Joel) and “Hook” (Blues Traveller.)
Why? Because I’m a huge dork.
I can top that, because I know those and the lyrics to “Can’t Stop” by Red Hot Chili Peppers, American Pie (Or something to that effect) by Don McLean (And the Weird Al parody, but that’s a whole other thing), “I’ve Been Everywhere Man” (Johnny Cash version), and “Your Evil Shadow Has a Cup of Tea” by Lemon Demon (Not hard to learn, but singing it’s kinda weird, plus I felt like including it simply based on title)
Can’t Stop is my favorite song! I know every word. I also know all the words to Give It Away and Around the World (both by the Chili Peppers, and rather fast paced songs with hard to understand words.)
I know all the lyrics, I’m the only one out of my friends that can sing along to it!
I’m proud to have this song memorized. It’s great at parties. ;D
I tried to learn this one once, after learning “One Week” by Barenaked Ladies, but didn’t get very far with it. I can get through the first few lines, I know there’s something about jellybeans and obviously LEONARD BERNSTEIN.
That song’s by R.E.M.?!?!
I personally heard the Great Big Sea version first, and am forever disappointed by the slowness of R.E.M’s version.
Same here :/ REM is too slow with this song, takes forever.
If this pie chart applied to me, there’d be about a 10% slice dedicated to “LEO-NARD BERN-STEIN!”
My fave part is “Birthday party, cheesecake, jelly bean, BOOM!”
Agreed!
And I feel fine.
Exactly my thought XD I find REM too slow with this song^^ GBS ftw!
