  1. McFirst says:

    FIRST!

  2. King Mario says:

This has been up here before.

  3. kate says:

i know like 3 times and with the exact things to…and i happen to live in NJ so screw whoever made this

  4. kikoroki says:

i like new jersey… and i don’t even live there! >.> *i’d* want to go to six flags!

  5. kevv says:

Jersey goes hard… u punks wanma leave cause u all scared

  6. Matt says:

A chart obviously made (or re-made as it were) by someone who’s NJ experience was passing through on the turnpike.

  7. OrionRed says:

We actually took a family trip there (from Ohio), had a good time. Went to Ocean City, went to Atlantic City, went to that overlook place where you can see NYC, had some Indian guy pump my gas, stayed in a hotel run by a live-in Indian family, saw like 50 blimp fly-overs, went by the original Jersey Mike’s shop, ate at a Subway where they just stack the new meat on top of the old meat, watch some 5-ear-old kid try to surf by standing on a boogie board and waiting for the waves to come in, ate at the best diner ever (Apollo diner), almost got my entire family killed by driving wrong through a roundabout, learned what a jug-handle is, walked the beach for hours, saw my first casino.

All-in-all one of my favorite weeks ever.

    • cad says:

Well, if having some Indian guy pump your gas is one of the highlights of your trip, then it really makes me wonder what life is like in Ohio.

I dunno. I like NJ. Everyone’s all about NYC, which was great too, but not everything to see in the area.

    • Wyn says:

Ah, jug-handles. My family and friends call them “NJ lefts.”
Had a friend in college, from Indiana, say she dreamed we all came to visit her at home and she had to teach us to make left turns.

  8. MrMim3 says:

Carefull now, you might get banned from New Jersey fro that. .

  9. Why not? says:

Things I love about NJ that “could be a good idea.”

    1.) Ocean City

    2.) Pine Barrens

3.) Awesome beer stores that get around PA case laws.

  10. slick says:

This has been up like, 4 times before. Don’t copy that floppy.

  11. oznerox says:

You forgot “Beat up douche Benny’s from out of state”

  12. Sporks says:

:( I live in New Jersey, it’s not bad, like people think! People are very nice in most parts!

  13. Hary_Pottur says:

Why wouldn’t you want to go to Six Flags? New Jersey has the fastest and tallest ride in the world!

  14. Jill says:

So says every person who’s only been to Newark airport…

    • Ewwee says:

What are you talking about?!!! I am from PA, and Newark Airport is my absolute favorite airport to fly in an out of. And I have flown out of just about everything in the tri-state area. Almost everyone I know in the Lehigh Valley agrees with me. Much better than JFK or La Guardia and easier to get in and out of than Philadelphia.

      • Jill says:

Maybe the airport is functional, but it’s not exactly scenic :) I’m just saying, those who only experience NJ by having a layover in Newark are the people who make fun of NJ

        • Ewwee says:

Actually Newark is much nicer on the inside than the others. And easier to navigate. Yeah, I know, its not the prettiest on the outside. But when you are trying to catch a plane, its just the most hospitable. They have a great concourse/mall area to hang out in if you are stuck waiting for your flight.
I love it. Pretty is nothing if you get lost every single time you are trying to find your departure area. That is when things get ugly.

  15. Haley says:

Have you ever been there or are you just one of those people who thinks it’s ironic and ~hilarious~?

  16. Piccolo says:

wat do u have angianst NJ? Wat has my state ever done to u?

  17. That Hippie Chick says:

Maybe the graphbuilder had to MOVE here. Six flags is nice, and I dig the shore, but nobody likes a state they had to move away from “home” to. I used to feel like that when I first came here. It just takes some getting used to.

    • Knipps says:

I had to move here. And I hate it. The people here are even dumber than back home in Kentucky. They’re just meaner and have a couple more teeth.

      • taintolones says:

ok.. nj is the home of the most brilliant minds in history, most inventions come out of nj…. and besides… House MD. lives there

  18. Becky says:

Great! If all the ignorant a-holes want to turn around and leave Jersey immediately that’s fine by us.

  19. Pants_Mcgee says:

Find the houses used in The Adventures of Pete and Pete?

  20. Bob B. McBobson says:

First off, this has been done already.
Second, you obviously have not been to central Jersey, just hideously north Jersey.
Third, GO ON BIZARRO AND TELL ME YOU DON’T LIKE IT.
    Finally, Go home, Benny.

  21. mojojo says:

*I* like Jersey. My mom grew up in Ventor, I block off the beach. Loved being able to have the windows up in the summer ALL the time. Loved being able to walk pretty much anywhere. Same thing with Ocean City between 34th and 40th. And apparently those haters have never walked to the END of the island down by the wildlife area and just sat on the beach…alone…watching the water and clouds go by. Peaceful.

I’ve never heard “Benny” before, though. Where’s that come from? I’ve always just heard Shoobie to describe annoying out of towners.

    • R says:

I live in Florida and we just call them “F***ing tourists”

    • Bob B. McBobson says:

Benny is a term people from jersey use to describe new yorkers who travel here. All they do is b*tch and moan about how much they hate jersey (when all they have really seen is the airport)

    • taraawesomeness says:

If you don’t know what a Benny is then you’re one. :)

(don’t worry though it just means someone who doesn’t live “down the shore” as you bennies call it but come there on vaca. it’s not always necessarily an insult.)

    • taintolones says:

Benny’s are from north jersey based on the train stations, look it up for more details… shoobie refers to people from PA, its more common in south nj based on them bringing shoeboxes packed with lunch back in the day for there mini vacations to the beach

  22. Daniel says:

I love New Jersey and ive been growing up in East Wick

  23. Ydobon says:

jersey sucked already… so why did they even founded a new one???

  24. hrlqn says:

Benny actually stands for people from
    B(ayonne)-E(lizabeth)-N(ewark)-N(ew )Y(ork).
    Even wikipedia writes about it;

  25. JerseyBoy609 says:

    From Jersey. Do not like!

  26. iKit5 says:

    I live in NJ. It’s a nice place once you leave the areas around the trains and the transit. Pretty the areas OTHER than the commissioners from NY see. >>;
I thought this was kinda funny though. The parts of Jersey people are talking are pretty bad. But doesn’t every state have its lows?

  27. Catherine says:

    im offended.
i live in jersey and it isnt that bad

  28. Katie says:

Wish there was a zero vote option. See it before, so it’s lame and repeated. Don’t understand why New Jersey is always picked on it’s like every other state. Not every resident is in the mob, stuck in the 80s, or obsessed with Bon Jovi and Bruce Springsteen

  29. Jersey8304 says:

Welcome to Jersey. Now go the f— home.
(srsly, it’s crowded enough here as it is. If you want to leave so badly, please go. You won’t be missed.)

  30. Marrock says:

There is no six flags in NJ, it’s Great Adventure.

  31. Lol says:

This graph looks like it’s sticking its finger up at me!

  32. dude says:

    http://graphjam.com/2009/07/01/song-chart-memes-new-jersey/

If looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, is it plagiarism?

  33. Jersey says:

Mhm, keep talking trash and pumping your own gas, kind sir.
I’m going to chill here, enjoy being 10 minutes from the city, 20 from the shore, AND cut your dumb ass off on the Parkway/Turnpike for going unreasonably slow [65 MPH] in the left lane.

    Central Jersey FTW<3

    Unoriginal graph-making FTL. :[

  34. blah says:

sounds like vermont, only without six flags and the shore, but then again there’s champlain… and no atlantic city

  35. Wyn says:

    But- but- it’s Great Adventure!
Lived in NJ my whole life, and central NJ for 20 years. Killed me when I went to school in north NJ and no one knew what Great Adventure was. Had to say Six Flags.
(Six Flags is the chain. Great Adventure/Hurricane Harbor is the specific park. Yes, it’s a pathetic thing to be picky about :D )

  36. Stephan says:

I love this graph, loved it the first time I saw it a year ago already on graph jam.

    Fail.

  37. Mettan says:

I live towards the north border of New Jersey…..I’m rather close to New York.

Trust me, I live in a good place.

  38. Jes says:

LOVE all the people who commented on this who are super offended and freaking out.

By a graph on an internet satirical joke site.

Life is hard, guys. Get tougher skin.

  39. rattbait says:

Yeah, we’ll let you in the state, but we’re smart enough to make you PAY to leave! [All the bridge tolls are paid to exit the state.] Think about it!

    • kermit's mom says:

And the payments are well worth it.

Signed, someone who thought she’d escaped the tick-infested Pine Barrens and then ended up back in Jersey after all.

  40. Kat says:

i don’t get why everyone makes fun of new jersey.
no matter where in the state you live, you’re less than a two hour drive away from a major city (new york or pennsylvania) and/or the shore. and you probably have at least 5 malls within a 20 mile radius.
and honestly, the driving here isn’t even that bad. people just think it’s bad because (gasp!) there are actually other people on the roads!

  41. Kat says:

    **philadelphia (not pennsylvania)

  42. BigRedRage11 says:

What do you have against New Jersey? I like it, and I don’t even live there. lol…

  43. IHATENEWJERSEY says:

    AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA……..heh…..ahahahahahahahahahaha….blefghrlirtklg……AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA….

Can I move back to Arizona now?

  44. mojojo says:

Yeah, the shoebox one is the one I heard. About people who drive down for the day from Philly, and would leave their trash everywhere. (Sorry Philly peeps, but that’s how I heard it, but that was loooong ago.)

And I’ve very sorry for the next mental image… but the old italian NewYorker men with hairy chests and gold chains and SPEEDOS???? FAIL. I’ve seen enough down by the pier around 59th-61st street to know I’m not dreaming. Who could MAKE that s*** up????

    • BlowUpDoII says:

Just As A Note: Benny Is Based Off Of The Towns That Used To Take The Train To Get To The Shore. B-ayonne E-lizabeth, N-ewark, N-ew Y-ork.

  45. BlowUpDoII says:

You only made this chart because you can’t handle the simplicity of real driving (not going 5 under the limit– The turnpike is no worse than any interstate…btw note to you if I95 or Penn Turnpike runs through your state — welcome to the NJ turnpike extension), nor can you handle the truth handed to you without sugar coating. Why would anyone say anything less than you are a d-bag? Too bad Jersey had to point that out to you. Oh and if you hate us bc of Newark airport, or Camden — then don’t fly to Newark or go to concerts in Camden. And just bc 2% of the state isn’t in the best condition doesn’t give you the right to be high and mighty. You ever notice more than half the country is covered in cow feces? and WE’RE called Dirty. Good, Leave Don’t come back.

  46. Abby says:

Wow. Have you even ever actually been? It’s very nice where I live, so STFU.

  47. AtomicPunk says:

hey, i have friends there. TREAT JERSEY NICE, KAY?
because, i know, that NO ONE would want their state made fun of.

  48. taraawesomeness says:

That’s because all of you are too wimpy to handle how to deal with the awesome state. But don’t worry, we want you to leave too (and slave away pumping your own gas like a loser)!

  49. becky says:

wow you new jersey people need to take pills. maybe it’s because you live in a suck ass state, it’s enough to make anyone a bit uptight.

    • BlowUpDoII says:

We Don’t Sit Here And Make Fun Of Other States. We Have The Right To Be “Uptight” When People Condescend A Place They Don’t Know. We Aren’t Uptight. We Are Proud Of Where We Come From And Are Sick And Tired Of People Like You Making Fun Of Us And Where We Come From. So Take The Dild0 Out Of Your A$$ And Leave Us Alone D-bag.

  50. nick says:

I hate homophobes and New Jersey! They both suck!

  51. Bob B. McBobson says:

I hope our reputation improves now that Corzine’s leaving….

  52. addy says:

ok thats just mean! if you dont like NJ then yes, LEAVE because no one probably wants to see your ass here anyway!

  53. dude says:

I’ve lived in five states, and have travelled to almost 40 of the others. I’ve lived in Jersey for the past five years. It has many great natural and man-made resources: beaches, mountains, countryside, and major cities all very close by. It still sucks. It’s not the place. It is the inhabitants. I’ve never met a “community” that so hate each other, and are so rude to each other. Stereotypical Parisians are less snobbish, and Manhattanites are much more polite and friendly. And yes, I’m going to get out of here as soon as I can, so Jerseyans, save me your “you should leave” comments. I’m trying.

    • Moony says:

Dude. New Jersey rocks. I’ve been living there all my life; long enough to know that you live in Trenton or some metropolitan place like that. There are actualls some really nice people here; I don’t get why you hate us so much. There are rude people and nice people in the world, and where you live doesen’t change that.

  54. x2020x says:

    …F you.

  55. Swift says:

    Two comments.

    1. YOU COPIED AN OLD GRAPH, WAY TO BE ORIGINAL.
    2. Jersey rules, you suck. LEARN TO ENJOY NATURE.

  56. lolrat says:

I would go to the Fantasy Show Bar!!

  57. Toastfan902 says:

Reminds me of the weird al song ill sue ya

  58. Failing Failer says:

The reason why New Jersey sucks is because nobody knows about the good parts except for those of us who live here. I’d tell you about them, but I don’t feel like tracking down and killing you.

I’ll sue ya is good, except for those couple of lines.

  59. Victor Handel says:

If you want to leave, leave. Better for the rest of us who want to stay.

  60. Rachele says:

i LIVE in new jersey and i LOVE it, ASSHOLE!!!!!!!

  61. Jaermy says:

Jersey is gay, just like all of you.

  62. B says:

New Jersey sucks balls! Stop fighing, jesus!

  63. Poopers says:

I live in south Jersey, ten minutes from the shore, and I hate it. So take that!

  64. taintolones says:

move to a better part of jersey and quit bitchin cuz your broke ass has to live in the stix

  65. I.C. says:

when i was there i highly enjoyed pointing and laughing at guidos. also pointing and laughing at retarded pizza toppings, like mozzerella sticks. hahahah jew jersey.

  66. bob says:

    THE FIRST ONE!!!!!!!!!!!

  67. Squishy says:

Oh quit whining. I live in New Jersey.
