  1. Sussianne says:

Only if they could publicity whore for it. Other than that they wouldn’t lift a finger to help.

I have yet to see them have a fundraiser to close down the local pound in favor of no kill shelters……no publicity for that.

    • Jessica says:

PETA isn’t even no-kill. They euthanize more animals than they adopt out. Creepy PETA hypocrites.

      • Hailey says:

Two points: Look at PETA’s horrible videos of animals being skinned alive. How’d they get that footage? Think about.
Secondly, look up “PETA corpse freezer.” You’ll find some very interesting tax records that prove what PETA’s all about.

        • Alex says:

Well, for your first point, there are a lot of people who will get jobs at meat plants etc just to infiltrate and take videos. PETA does a good job at raising awareness because they are so outrageous and in your face.

But they’re also so outrageous and in your face that it’s hard to take them seriously.

          • Zoam says:

PETA is a terrorist group that should be shut down and its staff thrown in Gitmo.

Not only are they hypocrites, but they don’t even know what the hell they are talking about.

            • Nebton says:

As Alex intimates, PETA is hard to take seriously, and they can be hypocritical. To call them a terrorist group, however, is to trivialize what Obama, McVeigh, et al. have done. It seems you don’t understand the meaning of the word terrorism.

              • Gnk Gnk Gnk says:

…And then YOU put “Obama” next to “McVeigh.” I think you meant “Osama.” Either way, you need to proofread before hitting the button.

But yeah, Zoam’s a kneejerk ‘tard. And HE’s the one who doesn’t know what he’s talking about. But when has that stopped anyone?

                • FyreWytch says:

Actually.. Ingrid Newkirk (PeTA’s president) has given out loans to people who firebomb medical facilities and many of their members are also involved with Animal Liberation Front, which IS A TERRORIST GROUP..

Arson is a form of terrorism.. :P They also harrass the people who work their ass off in shelters because they have to put animals no one is adopting to sleep because irresonsible owners don’t spay and neuter their pets.

Many people who I know and love support the IDEA peta has, of protecting animals… but they don’t actually know what they do.

                  • Athanar says:

I support the idea PeTA has, to raise awareness of animal cruelty and try to take steps toward stopping it, but PeTA is a group of radicals…

    • Shane says:

A fundraiser? PeTA opposes no-kill shelters. Apparently the no-kills make PeTA’s kill rate of 95% look bad, so they’re evil.

  2. papajon0s1 says:

Oh thank you for this graph. I soooooo have a PETA nut-bag friend I am sending this one to!

  3. poop says:

what does “it” refer to? the thing in your pants?

  4. Definition says:

    PETA

    P – People
    E – Eating
    T – Tasty
    A – Animals

    • Mervyn says:

Do you seriously think that every person who supports PeTA hasn’t already heard that one? Christ, I mean, just about everyone who supports PeTA is Vegan, Vegetarian, or has reduced their meat intake.

In reply to the vid and graph: WTF!!!!
That bitch on d vid thinks she knows everything. Do you think that you would have to be made protest against the fur/meat industry if you really believed in what PeTA are saying? Duh, no.

      • bodo says:

Um, you might want to do a little research on The Onion. Just saying.

      • Lurky McLurkerson says:

See, PETA did a lot of good a long while back by bringing the inhumane ways that animals were being treated in the meat and dairy industry to public knowledge, and because of their work in those areas those industries are regulated very strictly in regards to keeping animals safe and healthy and, in the meat industry at least, humanely killed with as little suffering possible. After all, go to any random dairy farm and you’ll see animals pinned up for roughly 45 minutes three times a day while they’re being milked, and the rest of the time graze freely, with the enclosures cleaned thoroughly after. I should know – I worked for one for a couple weeks.

However, it’s their claim that those horrendous conditions are still accepted throughout the country despite VERY heavy fines levied if caught is what makes me annoyed with them. It’s their combination of truly understandable compassion with stupidity that makes them a laughinstock.

        • thatguy says:

Actually, PETA is for the “complete and total liberation of animals.” The fact that they achieved stricter laws is purely side effect. They’re goal is to make it illegal to EAT or even OWN these animals.

          Yeah…they’re freaks.

          • rowanVT says:

It’s actually worse than that. PETA firmly espouses the idea that it is better for an animal to be *dead* than to be a pet. This is why their shelter has a horrendous euthanasia rate. They won’t adopt out animals for the most part.

            • princess0764 says:

holy crap. when animals are pets they are loved by their owners. unless they are abused. but that cant really be controlled.

      • Moron Nazi says:

Idiot. The Onion is FAKE news.

  5. Khaaaaaaan says:

    ♥ The Onion!

  6. Skyfire says:

“There’s plenty of room for all God’s creatures. Right next to the mashed potatoes.”

  7. Xaqtly says:

Perfect. PETA are morons, I’d even go so far as to call them terrorists, since they use terrorist tactics. And they do kill far more animals than they save. I’m not sure how that translates to “ethical treatment”.

If you want to support a nationwide organization that really makes a difference and doesn’t kill animals, support Best Friends Animal Sanctuary. http://www.bestfriends.org. Largest no-kill animal shelter in the US, and they have rapid response teams that go all over the country to help save animals.

They saved thousands of animals in New Orleans when it flooded, they routinely take in the dogs saved from puppy mill busts, and these are the guys who took in 22 of Michael Vick’s fighting dogs, fighting tooth and nail in court to be allowed to rehabilitate then.

Best Friends is the real thing, doing the real work that needs to be done. PETA are a bunch of assholes that don’t actually care about animals at all.

    • frogger says:

      http://www.petakillsanimals.com/

The higher ups openly support terrorist groups such as ALF. I’m all for the better treatment of animals, but I’ll never go as far as those psychos are willing to go. They scream at children that their mommies are murderers for eating meat, they assault people with flour or paint for wearing fur(faux or not), etc.

      • Cdh says:

Please tell me that you don’t honestly believe in a site run by the “center for consumer freedom”.
While some of the things written there is true you should really read what PETA themselves write about these facts instead of only reading what people that openly promote hostility against PETA say.

        • BigTex says:

“you should really read what PETA themselves write about these facts instead of only reading what people that openly promote hostility against PETA say”

Reread that and answer me this: why in the world would PETA tell the truth about those statements? Where is your link to their statements anyway? What makes PETA anymore trustworthy than the center for consumer freedom? The hostility came after PETA was discovered supporting terrorist-type activities. That actually is something worth being hostile about.

        • aaron m says:

I went to Peta’s website after reading that comment. I found out that half of the “Attempts” to stop animal abuse are whores or porn stars getting naked to… stop animal abuse? I do not get it at all…

        • rowanVT says:

I don’t remember where, but I saw a video of one of the high ups honestly saying that it was better for an animal to be dead than to be “a slave”.

      • aaron m says:

Holy $%&! some guy threw paint at me when i was wearing a fake fur coat and I knocked the guy out…

      • princess0764 says:

wow, they’re mass murderers of animals. i dont care if they do it humanely, but those numbers are just unnecessary!

    • Alcari says:

Also, they make us non-insane vegetarians look bad.

      • Mr. Frykas says:

I don’t have a problem with all vegetarians, just the ones that force their views on others.

        • Nikky says:

Agreed. I remember reading an article about a guy whose family was vegetarians, but “non-confrontational” ones, who respect other people’s choices.

He says this one paragraph before mentioning that his 4 year old daughter tells her friends who eat pizza that, “their bodies are graveyards for dead animals.” Wonder where she got that from?

          • princess0764 says:

i have a friend and her family is vegetarian. she doesnt go crazy about me eating a ham sandwich. or sub. or tuna. or meat. or fish.

      • Ashleigh says:

        Amen.

  8. Kitty says:

I will say that we don’t use glue traps to kill mice. We use the good old fashioned snap traps. While they don’t always produce a good, quick kill, a glue trap NEVER produces a good, quick kill. Ultimately, though, I let my cats be cats in areas where I don’t have snap traps.

Peta also has this problem with people keeping animals as pets. Apparently they should be free to run into the street and get squished.

    • Basara549 says:

I’ve never used glue traps for mice – that’s what the cats are for (the neighborhood cats that are nearly always under the house, but never around when animal control is, typically get them before they have a chance to reach the house cat).

On the other hand, a glue trap, combined with an incandescent light bulb night light (which produces both light and heat), is excellent for trapping and killing any fleas that evade the cat’s flea treatments and collar. The heat brings them in and they get stuck in the glue. You just got to make sure the cat knows to avoid it (let it get stuck once or twice usually does the trick).

    • Herp says:

      Yeah, I don’t get that.

So they say that putting domesticated dogs in the fierce wild (with wild bears, bobcats and such) is a more humane option than keeping the dog as a pet.

      imagine that.

      • Isa says:

I have always thought of it that way. That’s because peta things all pet owners are cruel abusive maniacs. I mean, Animals, eat Animals. I wonder if they realize that…

  9. Way to make me feel guilty. I came across
this graph while feeding a hot dog to my pet cow at the circus. Sheesh.

  10. orinoco says:

The average day of a PETA basher
    http://cheezburger.com/view.aspx?ciid=4081728

Feel free to get me wrong,
there are reasons to criticize PETA,
but you better do it reasonable and true.
False allegations and abusive criticism just shows the immaturity of its author.

    • Nada says:

Most of the allegations brought against PETA here are reasonable and true. If you don’t believe me, just google ‘PETA kill statistics’ and see for yourself. I personally get all my info on their kill rates from the figures PETA by law has to release to the government every year. They’re public records. Read them.

    • Jacob says:

That graph you made is genius! By the way, I don’t think I’ve ever heard a criticism of PETA that has not been debunked before. I’m not going to explain them all right now, you just have to google them for yourself.

  11. Mazz says:

Needs one more bar: killing en mass in ‘animal shelter’ – who cares.

  12. Lurky McLurkerson says:

I love how PETA wants to release domesticated animals. If that happens, there’d be a mass genocide of cows, pigs, sheep, dogs, and other animals that have been genetically manipulated through centuries of breeding to become animals that in no way could survive out in the wild. You might have a scrappy bunch that can carve a niche for themselves, but for the most part there’d be hundreds dying in the streets.

    • humor me says:

Soooo… PETA got it’s wish. All the domestic animals are now free and *running loose* as per law. Only one small problem. If you thought deer and moose were a problem, wait till you hit a cow or a horse. Some of those draft horses weigh in at 3500lbs.+! And since they are *domesticated*, they aren’t scared of humans the way deer are. They will just stand in the middle of the road.

Then there’s the feeding problem as Lurky pointed out. Once these animals are running loose, they will show up in your front lawn looking for food. They will be pooping on your lawn, tracking it with their hooves, and you will be putting a LOT of people out of work. Not to mention the animals (such as dogs and cats) that eat a meat-based diet.

But wait! They are expected to catch their own! So now we have packs of domestic dogs NOT AFRAID OF HUMANS looking for food. Yeah PETA, you have this all figured out, don’t you?

      • Bob says:

        Wait…Horses weigh over a ton?

      • aaron m says:

I messaged Peta on their MySpace account; I asked them “If I have I cat, what should I feed them? I shouldn’t feed them meat even though they have a carnivorous diet, right?” They replied “Even though cats are all carnivores, they should live a vegan style diet.

        • Nada says:

Lol! That’s so stupid it’s funny. “Your cat’s a carnivore, and eating only vegetables is bad for it, but don’t feed it meat! Your cat will love dying of malnutrition, trust us.”

        • rowanVT says:

Yes. Because clearly you see lions in the wild grazing next to zebras. Their lack of intelligence reaches new levels every day.

      • humor me says:

Oh, did I forget to mention vaccinations? There may not be a serious rabies problem now with vaccinations required by law for dogs and cats, but if all animals are allowed to run free, I can pretty well guarantee that that will change. Although parvovirus and distemper might be prevalent enough to keep the numbers down. Think people, Think! Think beyond the moment!

      • Kevin T. says:

Not a problem, just so long as PETA kills all the domesticated animals before releasing them into the wild. ;-)

    • PersonEatingTastyAnimals says:

So true so true. And what about all those domesticated animals that wouldn’t return to the wild because the love their humans? Are we supposed to keep turning them away? My dog wouldn’t leave me and I’d have to be cruel to her to get her to go.

I saw some deer the other day…they were terrified of me.

  13. Jerry says:

The best part of that video was the crawl on the bottom reading: “Anheuser-Busch releases new beer-flavored Budweiser”

  14. aaron m says:

You realize that every time you walk, you’re killing thousands of micro-organisms? Those heartless Peta bastards!

  15. Andrea says:

    PETA are hypocrites.

  16. Ghostwish says:

Oh look! It’s PETA’s Idiocy count for the week! Let’s see how stupid they’ve been this week!

  17. bcteagirl says:

Awesome! You just need to add ‘Dressing them up in costumes’ which of course would require the death penalty for the dresser.

  18. Dog Trainer says:

Hey Orinoco- I’m a PETA basher. But I don’t fish, can’t hunt, and I foster dog with behavioral problems, retrain them, resocialize them and find them new homes.

I also love a medium rare steak, and I show and breed my dogs. Suck it.

  19. STFU GTFO says:

This post is a total FAIL

  20. jessica says:

Maybe you should add another Label called “Getting insulin from it” and label it “who cares”. One of the leaders of Peta is a diabetic who needs insulin from animals to survive. Apparently her life is worth more than several hundred animals.

  21. Graph needs a “killing it with illegally obtained barbituates, then dumping the corpse in a dumpster” column, with a “who cares” value. Because that’s how PeTA really gets down.

  22. josh says:

Wow.. Not correct at all. People need to do their research.

  23. Kyo says:

Peta’s doing what they do for a good reason, they’re just going way extremist on it. They just need to lay off a bit.

  24. poodle_face says:

Where’s the bar for “taking an animal away from its owner, then killing it because PETA have no way of looking after it, and by the way we do this several thousand times a year and yet somehow still have the balls to call our selves ‘ethical’ and look down on everyone else, because obviously forgetting to feed a puppy once is FAR FAR worse than putting it to death”?

  25. flyingtuhrtle says:

if cooking is animal abuse, then my dad must abuse steak perfectly.

  26. Random user says:

More like how people on Youtube think of Chinese whenever a dog is involved.
NOTE THAT I AM NOT TRYING TO BE RACIST. But it’s true. Look up any video with a dog and Chinese. Look at the comments. There.

  27. princess0764 says:

    http://www.petacatalog.com/products/Fight_Breedism_Fitted_T_Shirt_As_seen_on_The_Biggest_Loser-196-0.html

they are stinking hypocrites they put down over 2 thousand animals and let only 7, yes you read that right, SEVEN animals be adopted, and now they’re saying adopt.

    http://www.petakillsanimals.com/

    see? 7.

  28. princess0764 says:

People are animals, technically according to Carolus Linnaeus. People drink animal milk, and thats not vegan, so that’s high up on PETA’s blacklist. Women breastfeed their children. If humans are animals, drinking animal milk is bad, and babies drink human milk, then aren’t babies murderous? And don’t women let themselves be killed? THINK, PETA, THINK!

  29. princess0764 says:

    they are huge women abusers.

  30. Jean says:

Ugh, disgusting, really. What sexist jerks.

  31. Poodleinacan says:

If PETA complains about Canadien seal hunting but not about French foie gras…..well there f*ckers, because foie gras is worst, they fill ducks to death and stuff…….by since I “hate” people who say things like OMG look at the Canadien seal hunters skin and get them to there boat alive pictures that we cannot see! …Those people….well I like to a laugh out of them.

  32. Hannah says:

    NOT FUNNY!!!!
