IAWTC. I haven’t been in “my” field for nearly that long but I know how you feel. Add recent college degree and working at a place that would have hired me with a diploma or GED. I’m way over the “times are hard” speech and the “have you tried doing (insert unhelpful comment or something I’ve tried here)?”

Here’s one: Try being on welfare, and not getting enough to live on, feed yourself or anything… Lots live like that… I’m one, and too many do that don’t have the initiative to do a decent day’s work…

Hmm. My job is fun, pays decently, and is a 12 minute walk from home.

Therefore I must be the boss.

However, the guy that was my boss until I saw this diagram respectfully disagrees with it.

Agreed but if I may take this opportunity rant that after nearly 25 years of fixing computers for a living I am completely burned out, recession or not. The drive sucks, they pay ain’t great, and I’m so tired of answering the versions of the same tired old questions…. ugh… yeah, great, I should be happy to have ANY job right now. I get that. And it so isn’t helping. Not helping!….

Done ranting! Back to trying to keep myself motivated at work…

I’m definitely in the Yellow/Blue junction right now. 4.5 hour drive, and work Mon-Thurs long hours just to make a living. My fiance hates me more and more each passing day. I think she’s envisioning me in the My Boss Already has it area, where I just don’t see that as even remotely possible.
