Whoa, now. Nobody is mocking people who actually struggle with dietary issues or clinical problems that make eating healthy difficult. We’re mocking the idea that food must taste terrible to be healthy, or be terrible for you if you think it’s delicious.

If you take offense to that, then I’m not sure what to tell ya. It’s not elitism, it’s a lack of insight on the part of the graph submitter. Doesn’t mean that it’s easy for everyone to eat healthy all the time, or that eating healthy is the key to the universe of being healthy / happy all the time.

Who needs to live on a farm? I buy fruits and veggies mostly from the local farmer’s market, but the grocery stores have adequate alternatives most times.

‘course, I do live in California, where the climate allows for fresh damn-near-anything year round …

Some of you have no idea the mental agony those of us with food issues go through. It is as horrific to me as is your worst problems are to you. You think it’s a joke and only worthy of your scorn and vitriol. Well, guess what. Not everyone is the same as you. Some of are born exactly like this graph.

So, fine, if you think it’s all funny and I’m an a-hol, great. All I ask is in polite company you keep your elitism to yourself.

Agreed. If someone thinks this graph is true, he/she should learn how to cook properly, and stop eating vitamin-pills and that kind of nonsense. There’s enough fruity things that taste good for example, and are more healthy than commercial pills that only work as a placebo.

I admit I’ve got a crappy diet right now, pretty much live on fast foods. Even at that I stay slim because I have such an active life style.
McDonalds breakfast, Taco Bell for lunch and
Burgerking for dinner… 5′9″ weight 135lbs.
Might need to eat a carrot or orange to get a few vitamines though.

Seriously. Do an experiment: Go to the grocery store in summer. Buy a bag of fresh cherries, the kind that cost an arm and a leg, and buy a package of Twinkies. Put them both out. See which vanishes first. I’ll give you a clue: It’s the one you can actually identify as food.

Personally, I find most healthier food to be MORE delicious than the “kill you” crap.

Like a fresh carrot that you just dug up is the best thing ever. And fresh raw green beans you just picked are awesome. Peaches right from the tree are incredible.

I would much rather have a fresh tomato than a hot dog or a chocolate bar any day.

Fresh fruit in season is next-best thing to manna from heaven. Peaches, raspberries, those lovely little clementine oranges that are just coming into stores now… ahhh… yummy!

I am confused. The last time I ate a banana it tasted pretty darn good, and according to the people at Chiquita it’s one of the world’s perfect foods. I ate a yogurt today and I didn’t have to choke it down. And a salad topped with grilled chicken has never tasted like moldy sawdust to me. Am I doing something wrong??

This is nowhere near accurate. I eat food that is healthy AND delicious. It’s not as hard as it sounds. Note: low fat doesn’t mean healthy. Neither does “no carbs” or “has acai berry” or whatever stupid trend they’re pushing these days.
