How Good You Think You Are At Singing VS Actual Ability
Graph by: NinjaParakeet via Graph Jam Builder
It’s odd to hear a recording of yourself. That’s not how you think you sound.
well yeah, when you hear a recording of yourself you think you suck even at speaking:D
Yeah, and you realize that’s how you sound to everyone else. Course, this raises further questions about subjectivity and perception of reality, and then you can’t be sure of anything. Eventually you’ll have a nervous breakdown and get locked up in an asylum, babbling about how nothing really exists and if you might as well just imagine something you like better.
Learned from experience, eh? :p
Second
you’re number two alright.
I sound absolutely different….Sometimes sucks, but other people say I have a great voice (not for singing though)
Do you have a great voice for movie trailers?
I don’t know, I might. Never tried though.
Try dirty calls! I’ll be your first cutomer!
*cu’s’tomer* fail
the video was 10x better than the graph.
Britains got talent…
Myth busted!
They forgot ‘after a few drinks on karaoke night’. Thank god I haven’t fallen for it yet. I’ve heard some people with amazing voices go up there with the crappy mics and publicly humiliate themselves.
Haha, yeah that might have been a category if I thought of it, but I think I pretty much hit every general area where people sing (or listen to themselves).
Just a suggestion: Can we work on shortening the titles for these graphs? You don’t really have to put the “punch line” and description of both axes in the title itelf. Something like “Perceived Singing Ability” would be suffice. FWIW…
We’ll work on that as soon as you shorten your IT/mother-in-law criticizm sessions.
Okay well as the creator of this graph I think it’s necessary to tell you that I’ve only been on ICHC for maybe half a year and only have 41 lolz total. I’m not familiar with the whole “you need to shorten the title” crap, though if you look at my more recent pictures I’ve fixed the title length. This is my first front page graph here on graph jam and I’m just glad I got noticed.
For what it’s worth, I thought it was a pretty decent graph.
If the American versions of this show were anything like this, I may consider watching them.
Grammar fail it would you’re not your
I’m not some guy who perilously checks his grammar after every freaking word, and the Graph Builder doesn’t have the little red squiggly line indicating grammatical errors, so I didn’t see it. And I believe you’re supposed to put “be” after “would” in your comment. So your a hypocrite.
“So you’re a hypocrite.”
XD I know. Stupid gradeschool grammar.
It irks me when people get contractions, possessive pronouns, possessive case, plural and so on mixed up. I learnt most of my English by listening and I still don’t get such things wrong.
You shouldn’t have to perilously check your grammar. You should know the difference between “your” and “you are.” You don’t need the red squiggly lines to show you that. Also, this should be a BAR GRAPH. A BAR GRAPH. Did you fail at paying attention in kindergarten when they taught graphs? You obviously failed the bit about contractions, so I’m assuming you didn’t grasp the “higher level” graphing concepts.
My God, calm down! It’s just grammar…and no, I don’t know if I got the right form of it is. Nor do I care if I’m wrong. This is a website for funny graphs, not impeccable grammar. I’d like to see your face if you wend on engrish funny for anymore than about ten seconds.
Nice graph by the way!
quite a bit of truth to this. left out “when im alone in my car” scenario/setting tho. that would be right up there past “freakin awesome”. haha
I am German and even I spottet that your/you’re fail right away…
Somewhat true. I actually sound rather awful when singing with the recording, because I’m actually a pretty decent singer (I even have other people say so), and it results in me singing the song as I think it should be sung, and that rarely matches up with the recording.
And listening to a recording can suck because I have a very crappy mic.
That’s definately me -.- My cat has a better singing voice than I do, but I still sing anyway XD
I think I’m actually a pretty good singer, but this next sentence is a true fact. I sang at the Christmas program for school, and the next day as soon as I got out of my mom’s car, I started geting a bunch of comments on my singing, after about 20, I kept counting, and figured out I got over 100, and on the last day of school, I recieved another comment, a teacher said “There’s that amazing singer”. Most of those comments were “Your singing is amazing!” and, “How do you sing so good?” I come from a family of terrible singers, so I don’t know where I got this talent from, oh, and one comment, from my best friend was “You were so good! You know what, you should try out for American Idol! I bet you would win, no doubt about it.” I was really touched about that. NOTICE: THIS COMMENT IS ABSOLUTLY TRUE. ALL THINGS STATED WERE SAID OR WRITTEN BY CAMILLECULLEN704.
This graph is really overrated and people have done it before…
Oh, just listened to your own recording, mmh?
I am not a good singer. If I heave rate myself out of 10, I give 2 to myself.
