I was at a beach resort in the Middle East a couple years ago that was mainly patronized by Russians (even store signs were in both Arabic and Russian)….and all the men – of all ages, all body shapes – were wearing not Speedos, but….THONGS!!!!!!I saw more male ass in three days than I have in my entire lifetime. The Russian women, by the way, all wore bikini/thongs – again, no matter what age or shape…..
Many Japanese men wear them as well. It’s just disturbing!

Actually, the line only goes between about age 10, and about age 90. I have seen 10 year olds wearing speedos, but boys younger than that will probably just keep on their underwear instead.

Ahem – too true. Why do the septics (septic tank = Yank) have such a problem with Speedos? Probably for the same reasons films and TV shows will display fully nude women, but once the plot would indicate male nudity they get coy.
Those loose, long, baggy shorts men wear as if they were sensible swimwear make them look as if they’ve borrowed their much-older-and-bigger brother’s stuff. Silly and unattractive.
American men, as far as I have been able to tell, are the only ones in the world that wear those ridiculous friggin’ “shorts” that look like a cross between harem pants and capri pants… and they keep getting longer and baggier every year… and they think THAT looks good (versus speedos)! It’s all about anxiety about the penis is all it is (I think the baggy shorts are supposed to hide the lack thereof).
as far as im concerned, I would much rather see men in those “ridiculous friggin shorts” then a speedo any day. Seriously wear the shorts.

There aren’t many people who can smoke weed and be the most decorated athlete in Olympic history, and in the history of his sport in general; in fact, there’s only one. The number of men who really look good in a Speedo isn’t that limited, but it’s close.

Ah, is this in response to Alton Towers (UK theme park)’s decision to ban speedos from its waterpark? I tend to associate speedos with ageing lotharios such as Peter Stringfellow. Eww. Men with good bodies should wear those tight little shorts like Daniel Craig in the Bond movie. Yum!

I can’t stand people who think that wearing a speedo makes someone “gay”. I play water polo and wear a speedo everyday for practice and games. when ever somebody laughs at speedos or says it’s gay, I’d just like to see them trying to play water polo in the hole set (the hardest and most brutal position) and see how gay it really is.
It ain’t “gay,” (though there are plenty of tough, manly gay men out there) it’s just UGLY.
We’ll give you a pass while actually playing H2O polo, though, because anything looser would probably be ripped off your body in the flailing mass of slipperywet male bodies…

Speedos on a guy are like Spandex on a girl – in most cases it’s a big mistake, but there are occasional people for which it’s most definitely the right decision.

I found this graph extremely humorous, but untrue. Nudity or some close semblance thereof simply does not gross me out. I can look at an 80-year-old of either sex in the buff without batting an eyelash. It just… doesn’t seem like something that should be gross. And younger people can look very good in speedos.
P.S. I’m not European; I’m from Southeast United States.

We know what’s there. But I, being a 12 year old girl, prefer not to get a very how to put it….. vivid picture of what’s under there every time i rough house with my male-friends in a pool.
I look great in them and I like them. Wear them at beach, ool – public and private – never had a problem with bad comments which seem toi confined to middle aged women in groups of themselves. Hmmmmmm
