lol. True enough. It seems that when you need to do something when the car is sitting still that you can’t do when the car is moving, the lights never want to cooperate.

Ewww… I hate when stuff like that happens. It’s usually because the people at the front aren’t paying attention and don’t go as soon as the light turns green, too.

I was running late to work today, and hit the SAME TRAFFIC LIGHT TWICE. Seriously, it let three cars through before turning red again.

Also, you can’t always go the exact speed limit during the day because there’s other people who are in front of you. Odds are they aren’t going the exact speed limit either. It’s easier at night when there aren’t many cars and you can cruise down a street at the same speed for a while.

I’m thinking the two of you live in a less-populated area than I. I remember experimenting with different routes to work (maybe ten miles or so) and I found that if I left before 5:30am I’d hit a lot of red lights, but if I left after that I’d hit almost none (the reason for this should be obvious, so I won’t go there). On the other hand, when returning home the same way at 2:30 or 3:00 (14:30 or 15:00) I would hit around 13 of 14 lights red (but at least I could usually get through them in one cycle).

You could be right about that. It’s fairly well-known around my hometown that if you drive 33 mph downtown, once you get through a green light you will NEVER hit a red light. If you’re late for work, you’d probably going as fast as possible without drawing attention for police, being a danger to those around you, etc.

Here’s my hypothesis: When you’re early for work, you’re more likely to be driving the speed limit so you’re hitting the timing of the traffic lights right and most of them are coming up green. When you’re running late you’re more likely to be speeding, so you’re just racing up to each next red light before it’s gotten a chance to cycle back to green.
