Also making really loud, annoying noises.
…or really annoying posts.
Wow, nice. I totally see what you mean by annoying posts.
True — they are getting to be commonplace around here…
totally agreed…. SO noisy..
Depening on what you’re addicted to, addiction isn’t always bad. For example, I am addicted to reading and Minesweeper. I do understand that the graph was reffering to other addictions, of course.
I’m not sure kids are going to be finding any lessons in Hungry Hungry Hippos, though.
I think your addictions to reading and Minesweeper have clearly had a negative effect on your sense of humor.
Ah, good one.
But actually, I did find the graph funny. I think I should’ve made that clear in my original post. My bad.
your addiction to reading and minesweeper has made you lose your life, nerd.
There’s a difference between liking something and being addicted to it. If you wake up first thing in the morning and get on your computer to play Minesweeper and consequently don’t have time to shower and are late to your job/school, put off your work to play it even though it will get you in trouble, skip lunch to get in a few rounds, ignore your significant other and children to spend the evening playing, stay up until 3 am to beat your record, and spend every spare second you’re not playing Minesweeper WISHING you were playing Minesweeper, you’re addicted. If it’s not ruining your life, you just like it.
i am addicted to not reading long posts.
I like your style.
Not reading long posts is ruining your life?
Certain short posts do as well.
Good point. I take back what I said, then.
I agree. And addiction, I believe, is defined by it interfering with your daily life.
As for the diagram, i really enjoyed it.
Er… no. Let’s take a survey. answers.com: “Addiction is a dependence on a behavior or sub-stance [sic] that a person is powerless to stop.” Merriam-Webster (to be addicted): “to devote or surrender (oneself) to something habitually or obsessively”
Lots of addictions have negative consequences, and can “ruin your life.” But that has nothing to do with the definition of addiction.
I’m addicted to breathing myself.
Is this eric? This is carbon.
but ay wuv dat game…
T_T
HA! good one
broken graph is broken…
but obesity+addiction can also =u livin in 08 partially cuz cpu is ur evenin activity… for example…. me
Was that supposed to be english?
Iz Engrish.
This is my favorite of the month so far. Well done!
Mommy I’m so hungry hungry, when will we eat again?
Though technically, shouldn’t all of the overlap areas be labled? (selfishness/addiction and obesity/addiction)
yeah… or label the other overlaps.
You Sir, have no sense of humour
So *that’s* what went wrong with my little sister……
Love. I had a mini one when I was little. Like all board games, no one would ever play it with me.
But, when you play if by yourself, you lose 2 of those bad lessons!
Though, add “Excessive Competition” on there, and it’s even more true. But I see why you wouldn’t (being flamed by sports fans). Competition should never be the most important thing, doing so is really just as unhealthy as the rest of those.
Oh look, it’s a cross section of americans…
Oh look, it’s a graph based on foolish stereotypes!
Wow, something funny on graphjam! I was beginning to think that didn’t ever happen. Thanks
Thanks for all of the comments! Much appreciated!
