If you remember you gotta take it out in the middle of the night when you’re in bed it doesnt mean you’re gonna do it right then. You can figure you’re gonna remember tomorrow and then not remember in the morning

Probably not in your neighborhood, but the nice neighborhoods have restrictions.
I guess that only happens in the U.S? I’ve never heard of such thing and i don’t see why you should be fined for something like that (or even how they’d identify the trash as yours

In our town you can’t take your garbage out before 6am on the day it is to be picked up. I think it started out as a bear deterrent, but the snotty rich folk treat the rule as though it’s all about trash cans as an eye sore.
…and our trash cans are labeled with our street address. Trash not in cans won’t be picked up. They’ll also skip your house if the can is overfilled and lifting the lid. Fun huh?
PLUS… I would like to add a column for “when you get to work and see a graph jam about forgetting to put out your garbage.”
I should amend that to say “trash not in city approved (and supplied – for a monthly fee) cans will not be picked up.”
Additionally, in my town you cannot put yard waste (tree branches, leaves, etc.) in the trash cans. I did once and they not only didn’t pick the can up, they put a big sticker citation on the can that I had to peel off…

Then again, I just moved to a town so remote, we dont have dump trucks. We have to bring our trash to the landfill ourselves. That’s more of a pain than forgetting about trash day.
I actually kind of liked it when we lived in a town where you had to take trash and recycling to the dump. It was very social.
Where I live now, you’re not supposed to put your trash out before 7 pm the night before your pick-up day. It’s not strictly enforced, though.

Odd, we don’t get fined for too early. Most of us just put it out the night before.
It can be in a bag OR a can, doesn’t matter, though we’re limited to one (1) bag per week unless you go buy special tags which cost $10 for 5.
What’s really annoying here is that if you forget to put out the trash, you have to wait too bleeping weeks for the next collection. And if you ask them if they can pick it up some other day, since they go past here anyway to another area, they want to charge you 35 quid. They can’t expect people to be perfect, for goodness sake.
How utterly government. Fines? For putting out your trash EARLY?
Hire a private trash company. Those guys are great.

I live near the end of a culdesac, so the garbage truck has to back into our street, and all the cans from neighbor houses as well as our own, have to be in a line, not on the curve of the culdesac, but straight. And that line of garbage cans comes across my driveway! Because the road is curved, I can maneuver my vehicle into and out of the driveway. But it’s a pain when I forget to put our cans out, and the neighbors put their cans in front of my cans. Then I have to move neighbor garbage cans in order to put mine in the freaking line. It happened today and it ticks me off. Common courtesy would be “Leave a gap in the line of garbage cans so the person whose DRIVEWAY is blocked, can at least put her DAMN cans out” Next week, they go out the night before.

i just took the trash out. it’s 4:20 in the morning.
