  5. Eddie says:

Can someone please show this to my parents? When I was 16, they thought all my Iron Maiden posters and shirts were angry and rude.

    Thank you.

    • jmac23 says:

iron maiden is an awesome band there merchandise isnt angry or rude.

    • joe says:

How is Iron maiden rude? Doesn’t offend anyone. Well, maybe its a little satanic at most.

      • yah well... says:

i’m a litlle bit rock and roll

      • noxx says:

satanic..? where did you get that from?

      • stale56 says:

Thats because people assume that they are bad people who like killing and being rebelious because they are a heavy metal band.

If you ever listen to any of the lyrics in the songs, you can tell that they aren’t very fond of war and killing. They actually have very deep meanings in their songs…
I recomment listening to the songs “Paschendale”, “Different World”, or “Blood Brothers”

        Stupid PMRC.

        • noxx says:

Exactly what I was going to say… All metal bands is not like that though, I myself is a huge fan of metal of all kinds, and especially death metal has rebelious lyrics, black metal satanic and grindcore often extremely political. Though I ignore the lyrics ^^

    • zzackcc says:

well, the bands and the merch are usually rude, but the fans are the nicest people youll ever meet

    • veral says:

shutup CAPM. no one likes your crude jokes.

  8. Todd says:

I’ll show you annoying. You’re all wusses.

Any woman want a real man, look me up.

  9. Anon says:

God, how I agree with this graph…
The weirdest thing is, though, that people have stereotyped metal fans and promote poppy BS like Twilight and such…
    Death to all annoying fans!

    |..|.

  10. Bix Nood says:

I find the graph is wrong in my case. I have yet to meet any Twilight, Jonas Brothers, or Hannah Montana fans.

Phantom of the Opera fans are not exactly a major fan group these days.

But all the metal fans I’ve met seem to have a lot of unwarranted amount of self importance.

  11. HalloweenDog says:

Well, I’m surrounded by Twilight, Hannah Montana, and Jonas Brothers fans every day. I know for a sure fact that they’re annoying as heck.
And there are many Phantom Of The Opera fans these days. They’re not as big as they used to be, yes, but there are still many. I personally know three.
The reason you haven’t meant any Twilight, Hannah Montana, or Jonas Brothers is probably that you’re not in high school or middle school.

  12. Merm says:

Umm… Phantom fans aren’t that bad… unless it’s the MOVIE!!!!
Emmy Rossum and Gerard Butler cannot sing. End of story.

    • Renee says:

      agreed 100%

      • Kitteh_Kat_Celia says:

        Agreed as well.

        • The_Invisible_Jester says:

They do get somewhat annoying – I would know, I am one – but for the most part about 95% of the annoying ones are fans of the movie only, and as of late the number of annoying fans has been decreasing. Probably because PotO is no longer the most popular thing. I suggest that they all shifted from PotO to Hannah Montana and Twilight. :)

    • SKW says:

Yes they can. Saying “End of story” doesn’t make you right.

    • anonymity says:

Now, now. They can sing. They just can’t sing well enough to be in a musical. Or heard in public.

  13. LeAnna says:

I’m an 20-something fan of Twilight, instead of the emo-pop girls with too much eyeliner. Are you going to kill me too?

    • roygbiv says:

dont waste your time, pick up a real book

    • Anti-Twilight says:

Twilight sucks ass, both the books and the movies. I don’t care if you’re a high school honor roll student or a twenty something fan, that doesn’t make it good. I’m a university student majoring in English Literature, I have a pertty damn good idea as to what is and is not a good book and I say Twilight sucks.

does the fact that I mentioned I’m an English Lit major change your mind? Nope, you’re just going to go back to loving that garbage book anyways. Don’t bother trying to justify your fandom, the book/movie is garbage, it always will be, so I don’t care what your stipulations are. Cram Twilight.

      • Jake says:

I agree, but you don’t have to be such a pompous ass. Half an undergrad degree in English Literature hardly makes you an expert.

        • Anti-Twilight says:

Never said I was an expert, I was trying to point out that mentioning your high school honor roll status or your age doesn’t make you right, that’s all. I thought my second paragraph explained it, but I suppose I was inarticulate. I meant that regarless of your social status or whatever you’re ranking yourself with, that isn’t necessarily ground to defend your fandom. Because she’s 20 doesn’t make the book good, therefore it is a pointless and unneccessary fact.

          • Anonymous says:

I’m anti-Twilight as well, and I’m not arguing your point, I just think you would be a lot better-received if you had actually pointed out flaws that Twilight has.

          • The_Invisible_Jester says:

You don’t need a degree in english to know that Twilight has no sense of plot and is *loaded* with purple prose. Hell, you barely need a high school education to understand that.

      • MLD says:

Oh, a lit snob. Yay. Here’s a concept they don’t teach in college. “Good” is subjective.

(And no, I’m not a Twilight fan whining because you dissed it. Haven’t read/watched it. Just hate snobbery). n

        • cat. says:

          same here.

          • cat. says:

what’s up with anti twilight ppl now? some ppl like twilight a lot and they show it. so what? oh and you dont need a degree to say which book or movie is good or not. anyone can do that. i guess it took you until you got ur degree to do that anti-twilight.

            • Zoreta says:

The fans are annoying because of their rabid tenacity.
Many of the fans will crazily defend the books if you critique them. There have been FELONY CHARGES because of fangirl attacks on critics- attempted drowning, being pushed down stairs, beatings. The most famous being the acid-throwing incident.

A list is being compiled- see link.

  14. F4nb0i says:

    You forgot one: Apple fans.

    • Me says:

Yeah, you’re a 2 all right. But length doesn’t matter, right?

    • MLD says:

You know, As an Apple fan, I don’t go around talking about how great it is, but DAMN when I tell a Windows fan that I have a Mac I get all sorts of shit.

Not saying there aren’t annoying apple fans, i know there are. But Windows fans can be just as bad.

  15. JB says:

And yet, Red Sox Nation makes them all look like cute little puppy dogs…

  16. Renee says:

No, no, no, Phantom of the Opera fans (“phans,” urgh) are much more annoying than that!

And this is coming FROM a Phantom of the Opera fan.

  17. C. Falcon says:

    they forgot the ”Walrusguy” fans!
they are dumb as fuck !

  18. Hayley says:

haha im 14 and love heavy metal i think twilight is ok but sooo many bpeople make such a big deal about it!!! i cant stand the swooning fangirls

  19. Skyshade13 says:

    What about Harry Potter fans?

  20. joe says:

How the crap does your comment have anything to do with the post? Ur soooo uncool, ya filthy troll

  21. JAC says:

    fail…

  22. tapes says:

I don’t know about that. I’ve met some heavy metal fans who are pretty irritating. Were dismissive of most other genres of music.

  23. Heehee says:

    V V FUNNY!! And true.

But…Metal fans so nice and polite? Ummmm…as a Jonas Brothers fan I can tell you a million stories that disprove the graph, and edge their ranking a bit higher!!

  24. HalloweenDog says:

Well, I’m a Metalhead, and every single other fan of metal I’ve met has been very nice, polite, and funny. Whereas every Jonas Brothers or Twilight fan I’ve met has been annoying and obsessive.
(This part is a reply to “tapes”)
Even though I love metal, I don’t dismiss other music genres. I listen to a little Pop (mostly from the 80’s), a WHOLE lot of Rock, Traditional Celtic music, and Alternative. I’ll pretty much listen to anything somebody plays, even opera and country. The only genres I absolutely DESPISE are Rap and
    Hip-Hop.

    • winternets says:

As a metal fan myself, I know a few slightly annoying metalheads, and IMO, our ranking needs to be a bit higher unless it’s sarcastic. But yeah, I was pleasantly surprised to find someone who realizes that not all metal fans are assholes. Like you, we’re generally fairly open-minded when it comes to music.

      • HalloweenDog says:

Thanks for not posting a stupid and unrelated comment!
Thinking about it, I guess I should have put that bar a little higher, but when compared to Twilight fans, heavy metal fans are angels. You gotta admit it. (Also, I like EVERY part of metal, not just heavy. I think Power Metal is the best :)

        • winternets says:

True. I like lots of different types too, mostly melodeath and power.

          • noxx says:

Same here :) And to quote HalloweenDog; the only genres I absolutely DESPISE are Rap and Hip-Hop.
            \m/

Btw, check out the band Psychostick, I just discovered them, they’re funny as hell xD

  25. Heavy Metal Fan says:

    CAPM is a stinky wankstain.

  26. Steve says:

Every metalhead I’ve met was really nice, even if they do dismiss other genres. Your right about the rest, but you forgot Oakland Raiders fans.

  27. Jinju_Umino says:

Twilight fans wouldn’t be so annoying if people would stop making a big deal about being a Twilight fan. We get bashed so we defend ourselves then we get bashed on for doing so, if you just leave them alone then they aren’t that bad.

    • MKZeke says:

Actually they would still be annoying because they dont get bashed for being a Twilight fan, they get bashed for talking about it none stop to the point where regular ppl want to tear their heads off.

      • winternets says:

I wouldn’t call it “talking about it none stop” so much as… “showing their ‘pride’ a bit too much”. If someone in my school likes Twilight, you’ll know about it because at least two pieces of clothing they own have “TEAM EDWARD” or “TEAM JACOB” on them. It gets kind of annoying, especially to people like me who don’t like the book at all, but they mostly know when and how to keep themselves in check.

  28. KrikaKrika says:

Well, I do agree with this. Twilight fans produce no reason for likingthe book oter than : OMG BEST BOOK EVAR!!1!!

    • Kate says:

      How silly.
I like the books because I find them to be mildly entertaining. They aren’t well written but the minor characters are engrossing enough to keep me reading throughout the whole series.
Honestly, the Anti-Twilighters are the people who insist on bringing it up constantly! The vast majority of Twilight fans read the books watch the movie and get on with their lives. The obnoxious fangirls make up a small (but vocal) percentage of the fandom.

      • MLD says:

The obnoxious fangirls make up a small (but vocal) percentage of the fandom.

True of ANY fandom with fangirls (Or change fangirls to just fans and it applies to anything)

  29. xM. says:

Srsly, teh heavy metal dudez/girlz are alwayz teh bests!
    They are SO incredibly naiz!

  30. MissJ says:

ok. i agree with most of your graph. Hannah montana fans should be higher, same with JB fans. Phantom fans should be lower. my only criticism. I’ve read the book and watched the movie, and i’m not annoying about it, so i disprove that part of the graph. end of story.

    • HalloweenDog says:

I put the Phantom bar between “SO nice and polite!” and “So-So”. This means that they AREN’T annoying! It’s only when the bar gets above “So-So” that the fans are annoying. :)
I personally know several Phantom fans, and they are fine!

    • Anti-Twilight says:

Clearly MissJ has a lot of USI (Unwarranted Self-Importance) because she apparently isn’t a rabid fan girl of Twilight, therefore the graph is wrong. She makes up 100% of the fandom.

That’s a lot of voices for one head.

  31. lawler says:

I think Hannah Montana fans are more annoying than Jonas Brothers fans, not that i like either.

    • name says:

hannah montana and jonas bros are more annoying than twilight fans!!
hey, we’re not that bad ppl!

  32. Lynds says:

I’m a 16 year old A-B Honor Roll student and a fan of Twilight and the fans that you should kill are the ones that only liked the movie and didn’t read the book when the movie was coming out they read it before and i’m one of the ones that read it before. Do I have to be killed because my father addicted me to vampires at 6 years old? Blame him. Not the real fans.

  33. The Pieman says:

The only Hannah Montana fan i know just wants to have sex with her… No one like the Jonas Brothers, all of the Twilight fans have since moved on to other books, and the Phantom of the Opera has no following where I live, neither does Heavy Metal.

  34. MacGirl13 says:

I heart Twilight. At least the obvi metal guy didn’t say anything about Harry Potter. *ptuh puth*

  35. Baris Unver says:

    You forgot Nightmare Before Christmas.

  36. -_- says:

I’ll show you how annoying phantom of the opera fans can get!!!
    Christine:
In sleep he sang to me
    In dreams he came
That voice which calls to me
    And speaks my name
    And do I dream again?
    For now I find
The phantom of the opera is there,
    Inside my mind

    Phantom:
    Sing once again with me
    Our strange duet
    My power over you
    Grows stronger yet
And though you turn from me
    to glance behind
The phantom of the opera is there
    Inside your mind

    Christine:
Those who have seen your face
    Draw back in fear
I am the mask you wear

    Phantom:
    It’s me they hear

    Both:
    My/Your spirit and my/your voice
    In one combined
The phantom of the opera is there
    inside my/your mind

    Chorus:
Is that the phantom of the opera?
Beware the phantom of the opera

    Phantom:
In all your fantasies you always knew
    That man and mystery

    Christine:
    Were both in you

    Both:
    And in this labyrinth
    Where night is blind
The Phantom of the opera is here/there

    Christine:
    Inside my mind

    Phantom:
    Sing, my Angel of Music!

    CHRISTINE
    He’s there,
the Phantom of the Opera . .

  37. Romblen says:

    I couldn’t agree more XD

  38. Fay says:

    Haha, so true.

My friends are Twilight fans and they’re pretty much forcing me to go with them when the next film comes out, even though they know I’ll just go “BUT VAMPIRES DON’T $%*#ING SPARKLE!!!” for the entire film.

    :/

We get on very well most of the time, but if they bring up Twilight it makes me want to strangle them. Which is difficult, because it’s 3-against-1, with me seriously outnumbered.

  39. ylva says:

heavy metal fans are also slightly annoying…

    • Heavy Metal Girl says:

haha that’s very true. I get told to shut up pretty much everytime I say something. But you gotta admit… I just wanna kill those F***ing twilight fans..

  40. papajon says:

It’s all cyclical forms of what is one’s man’s fancy may wind up on another man’s garbage pile. Does there have to be so much hatin’ though? Think about it: I lived through Disco, punk, hair bands, break dancing, new wave, rap/gansta rap, boy bands (NKOTB), grunge, industrial, death metal, soft rock, country, pop princesses, Michael Jackson’s career and freakish non-career, and whatever is passing for music these days. They all had their freakish fans you want to break in half. You can either let it get to you or move on with your life and do good things.

  41. RJ Lowe says:

But my favourite Iron Maiden song is Phantom of the Opera…

    AHH I’m so lost now.

  42. jackomcw says:

If you don’t think Hannah Montana, Jonas Brothers, or Twilight fans are annoying, you are one. Simple as that.

    • MLD says:

Not all the fans are annoying. My (45 year old) friend is a fan of JB and she’s not obnoxious, rude, or annoying about it. Several of my friends LOVE Twilight–same deal.

  43. Bittorent jackson says:

switch hannah montana with the jonas bros cuz on the have there funny monments whenthey guest stared on SNL

    • The_Invisible_Jester says:

      … whut?

I have not seen Hannah Montana or the Jonas brothers do anything remotely funny. And my little sister adores the TV show. both of them.

  44. SKW says:

I wasn’t aware that there were any more phans besides myself. Oh and apparently a lot of people in Italy. I’ve been in Italy for a week and a half and heard people performing Memory twice. YES I know that’s Cats, but same composer.

    • Chandy says:

There are lots of phans. :) It’s just more of the “only phans for the movie and since Gerry is so hot” business has probably tapered off (or they’ve gone to some of the other fan groups, who knows). I was introduced first by the movie, and right after that heard the original cast recording and read the book online. I like the the original, Gaston Leroux’s, best, to be honest.
But Memory is a nice song, even if it isn’t from Phantom of the Opera. :)

      • The_Invisible_Jester says:

Another phan here… and Memory is a nice song, I agree… but I was always a little more partial to Skimbleshanks’ song…

Also, it can safely be said that novel phans are about 75% less annoying that movie phans, unless they’re purists.

    • Just Me says:

I’m a phan! I saw it for the first time in New York, and I’m obsessed now. :D

  45. ... says:

Heavy metal fans are polite? What are you on?

    • noxx says:

Ask yourself that question… It’s because of you that the metalheads dislike your kind just because we wear different clothes and look different.. Nobody is alike in this world.

    • MLD says:

Yes, as a matter of fact. Just like not all JB/HM/etc fans are rude annoying little teenybopper twits, not all heavy metal fans are rude @ssholes

      • winternets says:

Right on both counts, and the good sides of both tend to be massively underrepresented online.

  46. emma says:

CAPM is my new hero. that is all.

  47. Stephanie says:

I find Twilight fans no more annoying than fans of anything I personally find to be anti-feminist tripe. Which is to say, that is my own hang up and not particularly their fault. Heavy Metal fans mostly pass under my radar unless it’s the topic of discussion.

Indie music fans, that’s where it’s at. If you don’t listen to obscure music, you’re clearly a mainstream conformist, but if you listen to their music, you’re just trying to fit in and be cool. As far as I can tell the only way to make one happy is to listen to no music at all and just make up names of bands when asked.

  48. Agentrok says:

    Correction-CAPM is a pervert.

  49. musiCat85 says:

I sure hope the creator of this graph is not a metal fan… because if he thinks being “nice and polite” means insulting everyone else, he has another thing coming…

  50. The_Invisible_Jester says:

can I just say that every fandom has annoying as all hell fans and this chart doesn’t represent all of the *really* annoying fandoms out there, like anime?

  51. chatmort says:

well to be honest, the disney kids are worst actually…

  52. Jaded says:

As a heavy metal fan, I’d say I’m nice and polite. But that’s mainly because I’m not one of those kvlt or tr00 dicks who are just as bad as those bloody indie kids. I listen to all kinds of music, just mainly metal. I know other polite metal fans. We don’t all want to sacrifice you (most of the time…see next paragraph).

As for Twilight fans…..don’t get me started. I sit between 2 of them in one class. That’s when ipods come in handy. They take their annoyingness up to 11. I tried to get them to read Hellsing (an actual good vampire story) but they’re too in love with that bashed in soup tin who plays Edward to care.

    • PinkNmetal says:

      Hellsing is awesome!!

      • HalloweenDog says:

I tried to get a Twilight fan in my class to read Blood Price by Tanya Huff, or Salem’s Lot by Stephen King, which are my two favorite vampire stories, but she wouldn’t.

  53. Theo says:

Once you start proclaiming yourself a fan of something, you are almost automatically deemed “annoying”.

Because, the fact that you’re showing off what you support means that you’re just trying to be cool.

    My opinion.

    • Arxos says:

Have to agree. I like Twilight, but I’m personally to lazy to be a fan of it, or anything else for that matter. You just look silly anyhow.

  54. Quill says:

Note average age and gender of all fangroups.

  55. f says:

you forgot to add yankees and red sox fans, the worst of the worst

  56. Scorley says:

Most metal fans I know call anything that isn’t metal “gay” or “faggot music”. But then again, I’m in high school.

  57. The Gosh Darn Batman says:

I beg to differ; I know a lot of really annoying heavy metal fans (which is not to say that all heavy metal fans are annoying, but annoying ones surely exist) and one or two regular, reasonable twilight fans.
Of course, I avoid discussing these subject with them, because I don’t care for either.

  58. Elizabeth says:

I’d switch the Phantom of the Opera fans with the Heavy Metal fans. They complain enough about all the other groups of fans that they don’t qualify for “SO nice and polite” (and even minus the complaining, they wouldn’t be… and I’m married to one).

  59. Servant of Metal in the Doom of Satans Work in the Hour of 1337 Music says:

    Metal wins..!

  60. mitch says:

i love metal but metalheads can be douchebags, i know im an elitist douchebag myself

  61. me!!! says:

my brother is a heavy metal fan and he is more annoying than twilight fans

  62. kentuckycactus says:

Okay, you know what’s the absolute worst: Dream Theater fans, oh god. They think Mike Portnoy is a god. Oh, and btw, the best vampire book is Bram Stroker’s Dracula bitches!

  63. Kim says:

I wonder how the graph would change if you added Clay Aiken fans? Just sayin!

  64. :P says:

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DEATH TO TWILIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND JONAS BROTHERS AND HANNA MONTANA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  65. Laura says:

I’m a HP fan (Really. Bad. Obsession.) and personally, I’d deem myself more annoying than twilight fangirls…

  66. hambarter says:

i really think that Jonas Brothers and Hannah Montana should be switched around

  67. MyssKytty says:

Yes, I know how the graphmaker feels because my little sister is a HM fan and my friend has been madly in love with Edward Cullen ever since the *&^%ing book came out. Said friend has thrown books at my head and commanded Edward to eat my soul. -__- We’re no longer friends.

  68. j666 says:

fans of, and MOST people commenting on this graph should be at the most annoying part of the graph :P

  69. noname says:

amen to this, finally something that dissed twilight, Jonas, & hannah all at once!!! ftw!!!!!

    *heavy metal ftw*

  70. Andrea says:

    THANK YOU.

  71. Monkey says:

i totally agree! i like twilight but i hate when i mention i’ve read it online then like 10 seconds later i get a email saying
OMG U LIVE TWILIGHT I LUV IT EDWARD IS OMG SO HAWT RITE~

  72. Tell me about it -.-; most annoying things on earth

  73. Mysterious Bob says:

*facepalm at everything on this thread*

  74. SG says:

Fans of anything are annoying. Fans is short for fanatics.

  75. pat says:

yeah kill all hannah monntana, jonas bros and twilight fans!!!

  76. Andromeda says:

    yes i love this!!!!!!

  77. Negore says:

Metal fans complain about every other genre than their own…

  78. **** says:

I’m a twilight fan. I’m just no all in-your-face about it. but yeah i will say the fans really have ruined the whole saga for me. that and the fact that the movie totally sucked because they obviously couldn’t find good actors to play the lead roles, but yet every one else in the movie did a great job. >.<

  79. Luna says:

Oh, most definitely. twilight sucks, and twilight paraphernalia (and fans) drive me nuts.

Now, Harry Potter fans, that’s another story. We are such sweet, wonderful people, even if everything and it’s cousin reminds us of something in HP….Seriously.

  80. buffykillsedwardtheend says:

Jonas Brothers do suck. I wish girls werent so obsessed with them. Their songs make my ears bleed and i’ve seen dogs’ butt holes cuter than them.

  85. Christina says:

This is so true, although anime fans should have been added. Nice to see that heavy metal fans are nice and polite. Barely met any metalheads. I’m really into metal, so I should. Yeah, I guess I can be nice and polite…most of the time…
And I don’t complain about other genres…only a lot of mainstream music because there hardly seems to be any talent in it, only sex… In fact after metal my favorite genre is pop…really weird huh.

  86. Lmfao says:

Ha, all apply to my sister but heavy metal
