You forgot “Nothing.” Where I live you could go for a year and never hear a single horn. I live in a large city too. I’ve always thought that was odd.

I mostly consider it a doorbell for the lazy. Unfortunately my neighbors have lots of lazy friends.

Saying “hi” with your horn should subject you to immediate arrest. I don’t think my neighbours can talk, they seem to purely converse in car horn.
