McDonalds never had Free Wi-Fi. It WAS only for Nintendo DS systems, and that was because of a partnership with Wayport, who has recently been bought out by AT&T.

If you have AT&T internet, then yes, your Wi-Fi at the McDonalds is 100% free. You will just need to know your login and password. Otherwise, BDs, Starbucks, or Buffalo Wild Wings will work.

I’m very lucky because my neighborhood… I don’t know what you call it, but we call it a clubhouse (thats what it says on the sign) and they just got free Wi-Fi, which is great because I have to take my sister there often.

Just can’t go the day without FailBlog.

A few days before April 1 this year there was a scare about this massive worm that may have implanted on your computer before and would activate on April Fool’s Day. I told my classmates in graphic design about it and to just be careful and someone suggested we just not turn on our computers that day. Then someone else said that we may as well unplug our hearts. Not having internet is a pain in the butt, but I’m not THAT attached to it. -_-; Of course it’s different if your work depends on the internet working. I just play Sims or read comic books.

Let me correct that, I’m an American who lived in India for several months when I was 19. My father was one of the foremost computer programmers, and I’ve had at least one personal computer in my home since I was born. I’ve had the internet as long as I can remember (I at least remember having AOL when that became the cool thing to do circa the mid nineties. You’re also quite ignorant if you think that India isn’t teaming with cellphones and the internet, it was more or less that I chose to escape those ammenities while there.

I’m not lost without it.

Same here! There are also quite a few books I’d like to read (well, I am reading them, but I’m sure I’d finish them faster if I wasn’t on the internet so much). On the other hand, I mostly get my books and DVDs online, so that may be a problem if the internet is gone for too long….

A while back my computer died a tragic death. I had not access to the internet for almost two months when I finally could afford a new computer. (The company I work for blocks everything on the internet except approved sites for your particular job.) I thought I would lose my mind for the first few days. But, I found out that just like when I was young, I can live without the internet. Though, as a last thought, I sure don’t want to!

There should be one more option on here: spend time with friends/family. Yeah, it sounds corny, but seriously.

Everyone in my family except my younger sister has their own computer with access to the Internet. Usually my mom goes to work on grading papers, my dad browses the listings on eBay, and I do my high school classes/use Facebook. We hardly do anything around each other at all.

THEN, one horrible day…..the Internet was down.

My parents were literally throwing fits about it. No YouTube, no Google, no eBay! What are we going to do? If only the INTERNET was working, we could look up tofu recipes for dinner, let you hear what this one really awesome band sounds like, etc, etc.

I was the only one who enjoyed my time without the Internet.

I almost cried because my parents were so dependent on it.

Reading. Because reading = epic pwnage, IMO.

Though I rarely read more than fantasy-themed books. I want to start trying sci-fi, though. I’m thinking “Hitchiker’s Guide to The Galaxy.”
(And I’m not sure exactly how to spell ‘hitchiker.’ If you must correct me, please correct me politely. Of course, that’s a lot to expect from the Internet.)
