  1. James the Conquerer says:

Duh. Who DOESN’T use online banking in this day and age?

    • ihateyousomuchrightnow says:

This day is not an age and this age is not a day.

    • Spectre514 says:

Alot of people, a good handful of people are still afraid of credit card fraud and theft from viruses.

      • Glittermaster says:

And rightly so, bank and credit fraud happen everyday. It’s a nightmare if happens to you!

        • James the Conquerer says:

OOOO teh technology, it’s teh scarie!!

Do you keep your cash stuffed into your mattress, too?

        • Reece400 says:

Unfortunatly, it’s actually much easier to go thorugh someones mail and garbage than it is to get the info online.

          • Bank_employee says:

Not to mention, as long as you report in time (ie; 60 days after it happened), if you’re a victim of fraud your bank will investigate and refund you… Visa has fraud protection, and you can file paperwork to have any fraudulent electronic withdrawals refunded.

There’s no reason not to utilize electronic banking. It’s actually safer than using cash because it’s traceable and most banks have measures in place to protect you from fraud.

    • Chris says:

There are also other reasons that you need to go to the bank besides making a deposit or a withdrawl. There are moments that actually speaking to someone face to face is the best way to resolve a problem or get a question answered. You are correct that online banking handels 95% of all banking needs, but there are just times you need a service professional to handel things with you or push you in the right direction.

      • Ed says:

Your online bank does deposits and withdrawals? Do they attach a special money slot to your computer?

        • Captain Oblivious says:

I scan the checks in and email them for deposits. I use an ATM for withdrawals (free ATM usage for moderate use). So, yes. My online bank does deposits and withdrawals.

    • PhoenixM says:

People who receive checks or money orders that they have to cash or deposit?

      • James the Conquerer says:

        Night deposit. ATM deposit. Duh.

        • Yosh says:

And what about checks/money orders needing to be CASHED, as Phoenix suggest? And I don’t know about where you live, but I haven’t seen an ATM in about 10 years that lets you get anything other than 20s. Good luck trying to get singles and coins out of an ATM. Good luck depositing coins into an ATM. And Coinstar is a ripoff. Either pay for the fee of counting your coins for cash, or use it at a select group of vendors. At a bank, they’ll happily take your coinage, machine-count it, and give you bills.

          • Captain Oblivious says:

I simply scan and email checks for deposits. I have never wanted to get coins or singles from an ATM. I don’t frequent the strip clubs. Also, the Coinstar machines at the grocery stores do not charge any fees if you get a gift card for the store. To me, that’s as good as cash.

    • Jeffrey says:

People who want to apply for a mortgage. Getting a replacement card.

      • James the Conquerer says:

        Online and online.

        • Yosh says:

I don’t know of any bank that lets you close on a mortgage online. Most banks, you have to go into a branch to sign papers.

          • Captain Oblivious says:

The last seven mortgages I have had (purchases and refinances), have all been done in my house. They either send documents overnight, or send a rep to my house (evenings and weekends). I have not had to go anywhere.

    • Yosh says:

People needing a cashier’s check or other certified funds? People with a safe-deposit box? People needing $2 bills?

  2. Jefoid says:

You forgot “other banks.” That would be at the ‘perfect’ level also.

  3. J says:

To tell the truth, bank hours are specifically tailored for bankers. Lazy pricks.

  4. RJ says:

He he, you said ‘doable’. He he.

  5. ... says:

    Good chart.

    My bank is open 9 to 4, M-F. I work 8 to 5, M-F.

Banks not being open Saturday should be a crime.

  6. david says:

Very funny graph. Although “unemployed” should read “people without money”.

  7. Darkury says:

The only down side of leaving my job as a bank teller for something better was knowing that I would never be able to get to the bank while it was open ever again.

  8. kiki says:

    literate people?

    should be “whom” not “who”

  9. Rem says:

Hahah that is so freaking accurate, its not even funny!

To the persons who are tempted to think that nowaday you can use the internet etc, on some occasion it is best to do it at the bank counter and honestly, with all the profits that they are making, i dont buy in that “its to save environment yada yada” crap they are trying to serve us.

  10. J in MS says:

I work for the IT dept for a pretty large bank, and some of this is true. Mortgage officers will meet you anywhere you want, not just at branches. We even have mortgage officers that work out of their home. Everything is done intranet through a vpn.
The branch hours are kinda like the graph though. Only open to 6pm on fridays, half a day on saturday. Mon-thurs they shut down at 4pm. And yes, there are times you need to talk face to face. We even have branches in grocery stores that are open all day Saturday and till 7pm on weekdays. Those are a tad different from the regular branches, can’t talk investments and mortgage. We even have a 24/7 help line that can answer just about anything.

  11. Roscoe says:

This graph is 100% true. And it seems it’s viable worldwide since I live in Sweden and this issue has bothered me for quite some time.

And can we please agree to most of the stuff being done online but in some cases you actually need to go to the bank. In those cases you got to take a day off from work or so. Btw my bank… 10-15 Mon-fri except for one day where they bust their asses off working until 1700 whoopdidoo!

  12. inked_hippie says:

TD Banks (used to be Commerce I believe) are definitely the greatest banks for convienence but they’re not everywhere. I live in Arizona and have never seen a TD Bank.

  13. bronwyn says:

    Yeah, this is very true.

Commonwealth bank, i really love you. IF YOU’D OPEN ON SATURDAY MORNING? OR LATER THAN 5PM??

  14. McGuffin says:

Actually, this is stolen from this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YMR2zhaEyGo

  15. stacy says:

haahh yeah lucky bankers they are i work at a bank open 10-7 during the week, 10-4 sat., and 1-5 sunday. no bankers hours for me!

  16. Terry says:

Stolen from Cleese’s “How To Irrate People”
