  1. varuna says:

    so? XD

    • t3hOutlaw says:

Remove the internet anomininity and those retards on Playstation home will act just like they would in the real world.

For some reason it just annoys the hell out of me when I see it everywhere. It must feel terrible for the girls that are being targetted.

  2. Dragongirl says:

    That’s happened to me twice.

  3. chynna says:

The last one is especially true when playing Playstation Home…see how many times your avatar gets hit on if you’re female!

    • Turk says:

Just try and make a female avatar that DOESN’T get hit on. I’ve tried. It’s impossible.

But yeah, that’s why I stopped using PSHome. You get hit on, you get friend requests from people who don’t even talk to you, people ask for e-sexual favors… yeah those are some reeeally lonely people.

  4. iron says:

    *school

  5. Dex says:

    I don’t do that, sorry.

    • Shin says:

I’m a major geek (scientist, soon to start my PhD – that says it all), and the only online games I play are are RTS and FPS – and I doubt that there are many girls on these games. It would be hard to hit on them while you shoot them in the head or destroy their bases anyway ;-)

      • Zoid says:

I have a friend who plays Call of Duty online, and he claims girls still get swarmed if their username happens to be something feminine. They just try to get them on the group chat thing.

        • Slowpoke says:

          No girls on the internet.

          • Kinoko says:

WTF are these “girls” everyone keeps talking about? I am unfamiliar with this concept. Some new species?

        • CrinklySlinky says:

This is soooo true. I’m a girl, play Call of Duty online all whenever I get a chance, and the minute I say a word to my friends every freaks out. Friend requests, chat invites, sexual messages…you just have to laugh if off. And then shoot them in the head. :) They aren’t all bad, though. I have met some pretty nice guys on there.

      • konkonsn says:

Oh, there are more girls on those games than you’d think…the lack of female avatars or the whole “getting targeted because I’m a girl” thing probably make it so you can’t tell.

      • Muerki says:

Female here, and there’s a good reason why, when I play those games, I don’t turn on the headset and use a sexually ambiguous name. Too many times I’ll play and either get hit on or ripped on just because of my gender.

      • Casa says:

Two of my bro’s best buds in his FPS clan are femmies. ^^
And yes they’ve been on the voice chat to confirm the fact…. after they made friends. Pre-buddy stage they stuck to their genderneutral names.

      • zaraithe says:

Not if one is a Pyro >:)

  6. What? says:

    Shcool?

  7. Jmoney6409 says:

that graph looks a lot like the “chances a girl is actualy a guy” chart. also especially true on playstation home

  8. Maugchief says:

Has no one seen Saved By The Bell? That first bar should be much higher. I mean, every high school was like Bayside High, right?

  10. WMDKitty says:

Wait, what about the girl geeks?

    • konkonsn says:

      Well, if you’re a lesbian, I guess you’re included. ^_^

      • Eddy says:

Nah, most lesbians I’ve met on games are above that sort of thing (even to like-minded females.) The trampy bi for attention girls will, though. My girlfriend and I spent an evening in a Warcraft raid while this woman flirted with every man and woman in the raid, inbetween giggling for no reason and talking about her husband. It was… awkward.

        • Turk says:

Not all lesbians online are actually lesbians. Some are just really really lonely men who couldn’t even get a girl when pretending to be a teenage guy.

        • Wombatish says:

Ugh. I am a girl, and “that girl” is always around. It makes me ashamed that a select few others know my gender.

I want to throw my hands up and go “She’s a whore! We’re not all like that, really!” but that would be really rude.

      • WMDKitty says:

        Nope. But I’m a geek.

  11. slupine says:

Except in the last category they’re probably hitting on another guy.

Ahh, the internet, where the men are men, the women are men, and everyone under 18 have a .gov ident. :P

    • slupine says:

Uh… we’ll just ignore the fact that I apparently can’t type proper English today, shall we?

  12. K-Dawg says:

Any ladies here want to go on a hot date?

  13. Rory says:

i pretend to be a girl to get attention

  14. WoWgrl says:

It’s not all bad…hey you’ll probably never meet them IRL anyway…some of the avatars are hawt! The girl has fun, the guy has fun…why not? cyber=/=real sex

    • Wombatish says:

      /cringe

You make the rest of us look bad.

Just keep everything private, then I really couldn’t care less. It’s when you’re so blatant and obvious and fake that it really gets on my nerves, and everyone else’s (well, those who aren’t hoping to ’score’).

Also, you should know that by “WoWgrl”, I read it as “Only a grl in WoW”.

      • Hoopy Frood says:

        Yikes. Agreed 100%, Wombatish.
Fortunately, not all of us geek types are like that… *shudder*

  15. Casa says:

    Guy
    In
    Real
    Life!
I’m a gamer, ok, not realy because I just play mmorpg’s and most “real” gamers think rpg players arn’t true gamers… wait? Where was I going with this?
    oh yah.
    I’m a chick. ^^
I definatly got hit on by geeks more in highschool… (I ran track and also was the only girl in the D&D club, weird jock/geek hybrid)
    .
    .
Voice chats during gaming sessions are fun because it pretty much just sticks to locker room humor, no direct flirtation. Was definatly worse in highschool… poor sweet geeky guys asking me out and I’d alwayes be turning them down because they were my friends!

    • cj says:

I am a 50 yr old female gamer and I take offense to some of these sexist comments. I started with D&D pencil and paper, on to PC, then Kings Quest and on and on. Even being 50 my I still get hit on in games. I just use it to my advantage and kill the twerps. (laughs the evil laugh)

      • DeathWyrmNexus says:

That is class. I applaud you. *claps*

      • Casa says:

Wait, you lost me… you take offense to -my- comments, or just the discussion in general?
        0o

      • Hoopy Frood says:

CJ, you’ve just become my hero.

And Casa, most people I know who call themselves “gamers” are RPGers, myself included.

Oddly enough, there’s quite a few geeks and gamer types in my local electronica/party scene… apparently, even some of the hippies dig D&D and WoW. Who knew?

  16. slaggingham says:

After we’re rich, the bar moves from “trying” to “succeeding.”

Money changes everything. That’s why Communism has never really caught on among the various Geek Nations. You want us to give up the one hope of advantage we have? Screw that, I’ll invent something!

  17. Danielle says:

That’s how I met my husband :) Good Ol Counterstrike :)

  18. jamie says:

    WTF is “Shcocl”?

  19. Kraas says:

    y halo thar…

  20. Azzi says:

Yeah, what is up with being asked for a picture. I mean honestly, I live on the other side of the world. And you know what, I don’t want to send a picture of myself to some dude half my age. Well even if he was my age. No photo!
I generally don’t use voice chat unless its in guild. Freaking USA peeps are the worst. I could go on forever. I came to play a game, I didn’t come to be hit on!!
    Point, I concur!

  21. Turk says:

    Woow, you officially win.

  22. Wombatish says:

That’s the thing. Someone you know (online) who is sweet, and just “hitting on you” because they actually like you is one thing.

It’s the random “Ur hott”s that are annoying.

  23. Neitherworld says:

It happened to me earlier today. I was playing a MMORPG and this guy( his character was male, but i’m guessing here) who was in my party said I was cute. All I said in return was “Um…thanks…?”

Which reminds me, I should get a boy friend soon :/

  24. Neitherworld says:

Lol nice XD That’s a win

  25. Tama says:

You wouldn’t believe how many times random guys go “ur cute” on Warcraft to my female character. IT. IS. ANNOYING.

    D8

    • Aguy says:

try playing a not hot female race. Like Orcs or Dwarves. Not sure why that would help, but it might.
(advice may not work as it comes from a guy).

      • Hoopy Frood says:

I’ve been hit on by guys on WoW because one of my characters is a female. (Note: I’m male, and I prefer women.) I’ve actually had a bit of fun leading them on for a bit, then just as they think they’re going to get a little “fun,” ask them, “Wait… you know I’m a guy, right?”

Most of the time, they disconnect. It’s great.

  26. Tama says:

And YES, I am female. xD

  27. xikil4kandyx says:

    Sounds like my brother!!

  28. Ella says:

Ahaha. Sounds like my brother too!

  29. n00b pwner says:

does anyone notice the fail in here? (the spelling of “school”)
