  1. Adfirmus says:

    SECOND!!!

  2. Jessica says:

yeah. i had no interest in seeing his naked ass. ew. =P

    • HellHathNoFury says:

Thank you for feeling my pain. People look at me like I must be a blind raving dyke for thinking he just looks like the creepy, hairy neighbor guy…

      • Kortaka says:

        100% agreed with you both.

      • villy says:

I don’t think he’s creepy or particularly unattractive. I just don’t think he’s particularly attractive, either.

        He’s very “meh” to me.

      • Platy says:

Damn… wish my creep hairy neighbor guy looked like that.

Then his leaving the blinds up wouldn’t be nearly as traumatic.

    • Logan-Rose says:

I wouln’t say “ew” but it wasnt what I went to see either. An ass is just an ass.

Also, I love how theres no option where we just thought the movie looked like it was worth seeing. Clearly women can only be massive nerds or hate this stuff. Middlegrounds do not exist!

    • ladykitteh says:

Well it wasn’t his ass I was interested in when going to see the movie. I mean come on, it’s a tall, dark, muscular guy in a leather jacket riding a motorcyle *drool* ;) And oh yeah, HE’S GOT FOOTLONG SPIKES COMING OUT OF HIS KNUCKLES!! [/nerdyness]

The movie plot might have been a little thin, but that’s what you get with making a fourth movie about the same character. Wolverine has always been one of my favo(u)rites though, even before Hugh Jackman started playing him. But I’m not complaining… :D

  3. Elliot says:

Ryan Reynolds is more like it-He is hOoOot

  4. strlngrck says:

4thishness I still havent seen the movie though.

  5. Erica says:

I’ve always maintained Hugh Jackman caters more to male sensiblities. He’s the mancrush of almost any guy you ask.

    • tyler says:

      >.>
-whistles innocently and strolls away- he looked insanely badass in Van Helsing cause i’m a nerd.
      not my fault. >.<

  6. Muerki says:

Green slice – Me to the boyfriend: “Oooh, Wolverine movie is out today, let’s go see it!”

Blue slice – *Hides her book case full of comics*

Yellow slice – …Okay, that much was a bonus for me.

Red slice – He was naked for all of five seconds, and we didn’t really see anything different if he’d just taken off his shirt. Except right before he went in the barn, of course, where there was a shot of pasty white ass, which made me giggle like a school girl.

    • XD says:

haha yeah my boyfriend said he was glad that i was making fun of his pasty white ass instead of saying “omg he was naked!” haha i was the one who dragged him to the movie he says haha

  7. deadinfrance says:

I am not ashamed to admit that is why I went!

  8. Nash says:

I never got why anyone would go see a movie for some minor nudity, or because someone hot is in the movie… But then people never make much sense.

    • bodo says:

Exactly. The nudity should be major. And female.
      .
Otherwise it should actually have things like plot and characters you care about and production values and a good story line and…

    • forge says:

The movie “Tess” cured me forever of seeing movies because someone pretty was in them. Gah, what a stupid, boring, stupid, stupid movie. Gah!

      • JM says:

What do you mean? I really liked “Tess.” It was rather slow, but the story itself is one of my favorites, even though it’s extremely sad and sort of a downer.

    • fish eye no miko says:

Especially these days… between downloading and screen caps, if you’re only going to see a little bit of nudity, you can wait a bit, and it’ll be online somewhere.

  9. emilylime says:

whoa whoa, im a female and i saw it ONLY because i read the origin comic… kthxbye

  10. tara says:

Wow, i’m in the blue! Go me! ^_^ Btw: Movie totally sucked and has killed my faith in the movie making industry regarding comic books. But still, i’m in the blue group!

    • Jefoid says:

You had some faith in the movie industry before that?

      • tara says:

A marginal bit of faith, yes. i mean, not EVERY movie was a complete failure. Just most of them. i was trying to be optimistic about it till i saw that movie. -_- it destroyed my last shred of hope

  11. Nat says:

he gets naked in the movie?! I’m seeing that tonight!

  12. sf says:

    HILARIOUS.

  13. ylva says:

I’m SO the red slice… though I didn’t know he would be naked in a whole scene.
    Loved that interview btw.

  14. katie says:

What about us that loved the cartoon as kids?

  15. MsMsBurning says:

Everyone I know, male and female, totally red slice!

  16. Jules says:

Watched it last week, none of the slices fits. Two of the friends I was with, however, definitely belong in the red one. Which is kind of annoying…

  17. omgitsLindsay says:

I’m part of the small blue slice, and I actually liked the movie.

  18. bleh says:

I think he’s ugly & superhero movies suck.
    :D

  19. emily says:

Me: Went to see it because I love comic books and I have no problem being the only female in a theater if I have no one else to go with.

    and then…

My Mom: “I saw Hugh Jackman at the Awards and he’s such a cutie”

It was an interesting ‘Mother-Daughter Bonding’ experience that’s for sure.

  20. Fishstick says:

Wait, Hugh Jackman is naked in it?

    *RUNS TO THE THEATER*

(I would’ve seen it anyway… geeked on comics!)

  21. k says:

Sexist fail. I watched it because I actually enjoy action movies and am a fan of X-Men.

    • Wolverine Girl says:

Yup me too. The nudeybum bit just made me giggle.

      • konkonsn says:

Well, at least the creator understood women can be idiots about sex sometimes too.

But yeah, thanks for the sexism. Oww! Those X-Men stories are too complicated for me. Maybe if I get a penis, I’ll understand it better!

My guy friend won’t drag me to that movie, btw, until it comes out on DVD, and we can loudly make fun of it at home.

    • tara says:

It’s not sexist fail. It’s observation. The fact that there’s the blue slice there kinda proves that. Most women are going for reasons other than actually wanting to see that movie – aka: the ones listed.

Besides, even if it is still sexist, it’s funny.

      • Rosie says:

Er, no – an observation would mean considering actual evidence, which I strongly suspect would show otherwise.

    • Te says:

Because, you know, comic book fandom isn’t notoriously overwhelmingly male.

Sexist would be ignoring that there are woman who watched it because they were fans. I’m a geek who pretty much ONLY knows geeks, and if you swapped “Naked Wolverine” for “Gambit” that would be pretty much exactly right.

So if anything, it’s “Hot guy detection fail”

  22. Kitteh_Kat_Celia says:

I’m totally the red slice…and I’m proud of it too!

  23. picgirl7 says:

haha im not just the red slice but i did turn to my boyfriend and giggled, saying “i saw his tushie.” it was ok for a summer movie, i never expect those to be any good. ryan renolds looked pretty fine in the beginning too. helllllo eye candy

  24. deadinfrance says:

Okay some of us got dragged to see that movice so it was a big plus for some of us! But my son was really dissapointed in the whole movie and they killed Gambit for him-pretty purple jacket though

  25. Ellie says:

Psh, I went to go see Gambit xD Gambit > Wolverine in my opinion, and the same goes for the actors.

  26. boatycat says:

i feel perfectly represented by both the yellow and red slice. And I too am proud of it!

  27. jazzumss says:

Although I’m proud to say I’m part of the blue, I’m not ashamed to say I’m also part of the red and orange, haha!

  28. Miriam says:

Wait… no one went to see Daniel Henney?
Or at least ALSO Daniel Henney.

  29. Kathryn says:

My boyfriend did make me go see it with him, but I actually loved X-Men when I was little so it wasn’t torture for me.

  30. seom says:

    WIN!!!!!!

  31. Hoshi says:

I’m in the blue slice, seems to me it should be bigger…..

  32. leianog says:

opps. yea i should of made it bigger.

  33. leianog says:

luv the interview! proud his a fellow aussie lol

  34. shoobz says:

I went partially cos I read the comic books, but I figured it would be an awful movie, so at least part of me was hoping for some topless Hugh Jackman. I’m not into naked men, really. Male genitalia are weird.

  35. Rox says:

It’s a good thing we have DVDs now; if I got Wolverine on video, the naked scene would get completely worn out.

  36. varuna says:

    mmmmmm

  37. laura says:

Am i the only one in the blue category? lol

  38. frostfox says:

I’m in the blue group, even though I stopped reading The X Men round about 1990, I read them all through the 80’s.

  39. Mariachi says:

Not only for women; this movie is quite possibly one of the most homoerotic mainstream movies in the history of mankind.

    • Rosie says:

Who ever thought semi-bestial, half-sibling incest would make it into a mainstream movie…

Supernatural has a lot to answer for.

  40. NixonAgnew says:

reason why ANYONE went to see it: They had no clue that it was going to be an over-the-top suck-fest

  41. Mar.S says:

    Lame.

  42. Amber says:

i’m a chick, i went to see this because i love action movies, and i love X-Men

  43. Pom Rania says:

I’m a female comics fan who went because Wolverine’s my second-favourite comics character; my number one favourite is Deadpool. Therefore, there was not a chance in HECK that I would see it at some time or other; the only question was whether I’d be patient enough to wait until it came out on DVD and save some money. I wasn’t.

That’s the benefit of being a female comics fan; not only do you get to enjoy the movie (which was actually done pretty well, in my opinion), but you get to enjoy the good-looking male main characters as well.

I went to see it with a bunch of guy friends. None of the conversation, either during or after the movie, was about the looks of any of the characters; instead, it was on how it was compared to the comics, me explaining Deadpool to a friend who’d never heard of him, and complaining that Wolverine shouldn’t have been able to swim, with all the adamantium in him.

    • villy says:

I’ve never read the comics. Or watched the cartoon, really. When i was little my foster mom wouldn’t allow me because “girls don’t do that.” *eyeroll*

Even still, I know a fair bit about the X-Men, plus seen all three of the movies. And even just that relatively small bit of knowledge made the Wolverine movie completely ridiculous.

I think it was ok for someone who knew absolutely ZERO about the X-Men, movies or otherwise.

      But they completely contradicted everything!

      • Mae says:

Actually, if you (now that you’re an adult and can read whatever you like) read Wolverine’s original origin story, the movie was spot on, save for the “twist” they added in re: his lady friend.

What you think you know is probably wrong. Unless you’ve read his story, you really don’t know where they got the inspiration/story for this movie. I’ve read the X-Men series for the last 10 years, and I was really impressed with the way they told Wolverine’s story.

  44. the thing says:

No wonder I couldn’t drag my boyfriend, the comic fanatic to it. He’s not afraid of bad movies (Lord knows he watches enough of them), but he’s too chicken to see Hugh Jackman’s behind. Hypocrite.

  45. Sandy says:

I went to see the movie. I don’t red the comics, men fighting is just a normal fighting scene, it could be anyone… and Hugh Jackman is hardly naked.
I just like the series D:

  46. Tinky says:

We get to see Wolverine nekkid? I’m so totally there!

  47. Natasha says:

Every one of the women who went with my group (we were about 20 people, so about 10 women) went for Gambit. Just saying. And yeah, some of us girls do read the comics- I mean, for goodness’s sake, when Joss Whedon writes part of a series any lady in her right mind would at least check that part out!

  48. catgirl says:

I had no idea this movie involved naked men and hot man-fights. I had not interest in seeing it before, but now I really want to!

    • papajon says:

Uh… male hunks fightin’ is pretty much every comic movie, ain’t it? Oh, and me every Saturday night! :)

  49. Girly says:

Man, I totally saw it for the fact that I’m a comic book geek without question. Seeing Hugh Jackman run his pasty white behind through a field, nancing worse than Orlando Bloom in a codpiece, just cracked me up. It’s hard to find that attractive, honestly. XD

  50. sarah says:

EEEEEWWWWW! no thank you. the only reason I want to see it is for ryan renolds!

  51. Ashley says:

I saw it for all of those reasons EXCEPT a boyfriend making me. The comic was great, and Hugh Jackman’s incredibly distracting abs were just an awesome bonus.

  52. kalisa says:

You forgot: TO SEE TIM RIGGINS ON THE BIG SCREEN. Which is the only reason I went.

  53. Kayelle says:

I’m actually in the tiny blue section!

  54. Rosie says:

Actually, my pie chart would have been 100% Gambit.

  55. monnanon says:

i went to see it for every reason on the graph hehe. tho i wasnt exactly forced to see it.

  56. sunshinetango says:

Wow, that’s really sexist. I don’t really… um… know what to say, except I hope this is a joke in more ways than one.

  57. whatsherface says:

FAIL. I am a woman and I resent this comment.

  58. Satsuki says:

He’s naked in it?! Must. view. movie. NOW.

  59. romerr says:

I haven’t seen the movie yet :( must find someone to go with me.

  60. Hyatt says:

What’s wrong with being in the red? ;-; Seriously, we have to put up with movie after movie after movie packed with male-oriented fan service, at least let us have a little Hugh Jackman running around shirtless every now and again.

  61. DragonKatt says:

I would apply with all pieces of this by but being forced to see it w/my boyfriend. If anything I would force him! C(=

  62. CrinklySlinky says:

What about those of us who just played the xbox game and thought it was good and now want to check out the movie?

  63. Kadın says:

i feel perfectly represented by both the yellow and red slice. And I too am proud of it!

  64. Emily says:

i have to say green slice lol. my bf wanted to see it reallyyyy bad. but it was a good movie. ^_^

  65. Mae says:

I am a lady who went for all these reasons! Except the dragging there by the boyfriend. I made him go, actually. I love the comic books; Wolverine is my favorite character, and I’m not ashamed to admit that I’ve had a serious crush on said fictional character since I was probably 10.

And then they found Hugh Jackman to play him in the movies, and it all came together. Hugh Jackman is fine, Wolverine is a BMF’er, and the story is awesome. Plenty of other eye candy to see, and Kayla Frost is there for the guys to ogle, be it temporarily.

    X-Men fo lyyyyfe. Hahahaha.

  66. Tom says:

    Ah, you know my girlfriend.

  67. reagz0r says:

    Accuracy win. :]

  68. augurey says:

actually, I definitely only went to see it for the Wade Wilson-ness, and got appropriately pissed off when they took away his mouth when he became Deadpool, though lets face it, his nickname is ‘Merc With A Mouth’ so he really isn’t Deadpool without one. I’m just glad he’s getting his own movie now.

Oh yeah, and I should mention that I’m totally female. And to be honest, I though Hugh Jackman was attractive in the X-Men movies, but for some reason he didn’t really do anything for me in this one.

  69. sally says:

I am a Mommy, and I love Wolverine!
    Coolest X ever.
Hugh is not hard on the eyes-
nice extra, but most women can see a male ass
    anytime they want…?
    :)

  70. mmmr says:

How about just really loving action movies?! Who cares about the nakedness? That’s completely tertiary to the special effects and awesome fight scenes.
I’m a girl and I love anything that involves blood, guts, and explosions.

  71. Davi says:

    Really true! :D *lol*

  72. paraguay says:

I saw it because it was the only movie in English!

  73. Anony Lady says:

I went to see Taylor Kitsch as Gambit… ::drooooool::

Not enough screentime and I have yet to hear a true cajun accent, but mmmm sooo very mutant-licious.

  74. Katie says:

Wait, he was naked in that?? Dang, I so missed it!!

  75. Laurel says:

So the point is I could see the guy in the picture above…..naked?

  76. Sunie says:

I saw itor blue and orange…and then red, after I actually saw the movie. XD

  77. Josie says:

seeing hugh jackman naked is EXACTLY why I went to see it. why else would you want to see it? action?
    psh.

  78. Zoey says:

Sadly true. I am one of the very few in the “I’ve read the comics” section. and ended up bringing my friends… who are in the “hugh jackman naked” category.

  79. Brittany says:

    read the comics

  80. aly1243 says:

    hugh jackman is fine.

  81. Amy says:

I’m in the blue category and I HATED that movie. So bad. So ruined Emma Frost and Deadpool.
