RSS is made to save time. The point of them checking the sites every 10 minutes would be to waste time, so doing so via RSS would defeat the purpose.

If my boss is out of town you can pretty much delete the red slice. The rest of my co-workers are over 50 and stereotypical scientists – so the blue slice can go, too.
Add a slice for trolling the local newspaper message boards, and you pretty much have 4 out of every 5 days for me.
Come on people! This is America (probably). We have the most productive work force in the world. That blue slice should be AT LEAST 10%. Maybe 15%. Have some pride!
