  1. Faetal says:

    epic win

  2. Brick says:

    Nice one!
    So true.

  3. Bubba says:

I so first read opera as oprah

    So when i looked at the graph, it didn’t make sense… than i re-read the title… and i was like… AAAAHHHHH opera… not oprah….

    • Bubba says:

I would also like to point out….

That this is a orchestral bugs cartoon and not an opera one.

This is one of the opera ones
What’s Opera Doc aka Kill the Wabbit.

      • Lancer says:

I prefer the other one where Bug’s is a conductor… can’t remember what the name is, just remember everybody thinks he’s this famous guy, and he tries to make a singer screw up.

    • ClickClick says:

      Opera… not Oprah! WIN!

(And has sudden visions of an opera by or about Oprah, maybe not so bad an idea!)

  4. brandonha says:

    what’s opera doc?

  5. KG says:

I was hoping for the “Kill the Wabbit Kill the Waaaaabbit” cartoon.

  6. Meh says:

Groan…. Great reference, but you could have done much better with this graph.

  7. emma sweet says:

got to be honest- was hoping for a REPO! reference. can I get a testify?

    • heather says:

I loved Repo <3 But the old school looney tunes had classical music from history (Flight of the Valkyries, Barber of Seville, Fingal’s Cave, etcetc) and Repo was music written very recently.

  8. Kelzy says:

What about the Phantom of the Opera?

  9. Shancey says:

It’s also referencing Seinfeld, because Jerry says almost the exact same thing to Elaine in the pez episode

  10. ElmerFudd says:

Kill the wabbit… Kill the wabbit… Kill the wabbit…

  11. Reverend Loki says:

    Very nice.

I must add, though that my own chart would include the following references:

    Phantom of the Opera
    Rock Operas (Tommy, et al)
A Night at the Opera (Marx Bros. film)
A Night at the Opera (Queen album)

  12. mrmerrbs says:

Any opera knowledge of opera I have comes from Bugs Bunny and Frasier….

  13. Mel says:

My Music prof in College actually had us watch the Bugs Bunny Opera cartoons in class.

  14. notolaf says:

You totally forgot Gilligan’s Island! Operatic Shakespeare!

  15. Paz says:

Bugs bunny was basicly my parent because i watched looney tunes that much xD

  16. ab says:

“What’s opera, doc?” is one of the best shorts they ever did! We watched it in my Tv/Film comedy class.

  17. Azkyroth says:

It’s a wonderful browser that an occasional asshole deliberately decides to write support for out of their web scripting (since numerous sites with identical functionality work just fine, it is clearly not accidental).

  18. feckineejit says:

No mention of Frasier? – that’s where I learned all I know about opera.

  19. Strategia says:

I was confused at first, I mean, I can’t recall Looney Tunes ever doing a cartoon about a web browser….. I = geek.

  20. bibliotechnique says:

    The Bunny of Seville FTW!!!!

  21. papajon says:

Yeah… me too… but also some from crossword puzzles; another tiny pie slice.

  22. huckleberry hound says:

    Let me shave your mop….

  23. Ashley says:

    All kinds of win. XD

  24. Stephen says:

My girl’s a real high stepper,
    ginger with salt and pepper.

  25. Simon says:

This just tells everyone you nothing about opera. Loser.

    • Phil says:

Thank you for stating the obvious. I don’t think people would have realized this if it weren’t for your comment.

  26. Kat says:

    —blowing razzberries—-@ Phil

    Bugs Bunny Forever!!!

  27. Lilith says:

I recently watched the greatest 100 classic songs on YouTube. I hadn’t noticed that my knowledge in this field was almost entirely based on these cartoons until then.

  28. yep says:

sad thing is, when i first saw this i was trying to figure out why it was talking about browsers

  29. Fanfroman says:

    >You totally forgot Gilligan’s Island! Operatic Shakespeare!>

    Oh yeah!

“Do not a borrower or a lender be
Do not forget, stay out of debt
Think twice and take this good advice from me
    Guard thine own sovereignty!”

I sing this to my 13 y.o. regularly — perhaps his only exposure to opera as of yet…
