you forgot michigan
WooOO! Michigan!
incorrect you forgot michigan
Especially in Michigan
getting born in the state of Mississippi
Alabama baby said hallelujah, good doctor wish i knew ya
scratch the above – it’s not “good doctor wish I knew ya,” it’s
Good God girl, I wish I knew ya
Montegreen FTW!
Dani California:
Black bandana sweet LOUISIANA
Robbin on a bank in the state of INDIANA
Never made it up to MINNESOTA
NORTH DAKOTA man was a gunnin for tha quota
There’s 4 you missed
those states are mentioned but not what the song is “about”
The song isn’t “about” california. It’s about a historical figure.
They also had Californication
also said NEVER made it up to minnesota.
so…only 3
minor graph fail.
Would’ve been more amusing if it had been correct.
Research, man, RESEARCH!
Uh, which song has Florida?
Also, does “Honalee” count as a state?
Californication.
Not ABOUT california, but near enough.
Dani California.
Neither are about california actually. Californication is about the end of the world, and Dani California is about a historical figure.
did they make one about Wisconsin?
to be proper, the title -does- phrase it in a way that the song is actually about a state – not that a state is merely mentioned in the song.
“Especially In Michigan” is a SONG.
That was more directed at Kevin’s comment, if I’m not mistaken.
super fail
LHLD makes a very important point which renders this graph correct.
“Especially In Michigan” is a SONG off of Stadium Arcadium. So LHLD is still wrong.
put on your big boy panties. quit whining.
Dani California is about a girl, Californication is about a certain livelstyle/vision more then the state itself I believe. And especially in Michigan clearly mentions a state itself. Also it would be fun for a graph like this if it would be made by someone who knows the songs then just someoene who has seen 2 titles with california in it.
amen
everything in “especially in michigan” is about michigan. anthony keidis was born and spent his first eight years there (here), and i heard somewhere one of the other members (flea?) also grew up there…can’t find that bit anywhere. besides the “jupiter” disc of stadium arcadium…i can’t think of any florida references, and that’s still a stretch.
i think you should have written “other” instead of “Florida”, but i liked the graph anyways
they wrote so many songs about michigan, seriously. graph fail if you allow me the expression.
I don’t care WHAT state they write about, I just wish they’d go back to writing decent songs instead of the band being bored while Anthony Kiedis waffles on in rhyming couplets he’s apparently written using the “pin-and-dictionary” technique *sigh*
They have a song about Florida?
Hey, hey
We all know that it’s not the ONLY thing that they write about but it SEEMS like it.
It’s a GraphJam ppl, it’s an EXAGGERATiON
So chill the hell out!!
The point is that it would be funnier if they included all the states that they actually do sing about and not the states that they don’t.
No one’s mentioned this one yet.
Around the World:
“Born in the north and swore to entertain ya
’cause I’m down from the state of Pennsylvania.”
Thank you! I’m sorry, but this graph should be re-done to include all states included by TRHCP. However, I will grant the creator the fact that their two most popular songs are about California.
If you’re going to criticize a graph for being inaccurate, then you should be accurate. Its the RHCP or just RHCP. don’t capitalize the ‘t’.
Especially in Michigan much?
Epic. Effin’. Fail.
Dude, like EVERY state shows up in an RHCP song at some point.
terrible graph…florida is in no songs, should be taken down and corrected…and 2 wouldnt be so largely represented…its just stupid
yeah man, what about Michigan???
I do believe the point has been made that Especially in Michigan is a song.
I don’t think anyone else needs to point it out, but I suppose I could be mistaken.
So… on that note…
Especially in Michigan is a SONG! Oh Em Gee!!!!!11111oneoneone
Led Hot Lilly Peppels
Its sounds like almost of you guys are main-stream listeners. To the poster, you obviously haven’t listened any of their previous music. It sounds like the extent of your Chili Peppers collection begin with the Califiornication release. and even then, the first track, “Around the world” is just that! I don’t even think they’ve even made reference to Florida in any track they released.
How about they just stop talking about states?
I can’t think of the name off the top of my head, but on Blood Sugar Sex Magik (track 13 if I remember) there’s a song set in New Orleans.
It’s about a girl, but most of their California referencing stuff isn’t necessarily about the state.
Fail graph
Yep. The opening lyrics to the song-
Sittin’ on a sack of beans
Sittin’ down in New Orleans
You wouldn’t believe what I’ve seen
Sitting on that sack of beans
He mentions it a few more times too. I love that song!
Lunatics on pogo sticks ftw!
all around the world.
wisconsin, pennsylvania, etc… along with many countries.
research, my dear watson.
“Dani California” IS ABOUT A WOMAN!!!!!
Having said that, they write some of their songs about California because THEY’RE( grammar win) FROM CALIFORNIA! Imagine that! Ever heard the phrase “write what you know”? Sheesh!
Ever feel sometimes like you’re (yet another grammar win) the only smart person left???
Out of country?
Israel and Australia (Organic Anti-Beat Box Band)
Cuba? (Havana Affair)
Lions and Tigers come running just to steal your luck. (Sports teams)
A mitten full of fisherman / Down on the farm, we’ll be swimming with a mother duck deep in the mitten where… (Mitten reference – Michigan)
=D
Fail graph is fail.

Derp.
“Around the World” lists pennsylvania, california, alabama, and wisconsin
Michigan.
This graph is disgraceful and should be corrected immediately. North Dakota, Pennsylvania, Louisiana, Alabama, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Not-Florida should be mentioned. Where did you even get Florida from?
Indiana was as well
