OSX is not only virus-free, fut is harder to infect because of the basic programming scheme.

I have an iMac and ALL of the windows files and games work fine on it. Te games even play faster and better. That even includes Sturmovik IL2 flight simulator.

Though Windows is more of a virus magnet than Mac (Linux is out of the question, 100% virus free), Windows is a lot more user-friendly than both.

That venn diagram with the user friendly, stable and customisable stuff clearly shows that Linux is customisable and stable, but it’s not user friendly. (I should know, I have Ubuntu amd it sucks.)

operating systems (software) can be purchased optionally at anytime.. has NOTHING to do with (harware) working… cept the fact that it must work to run an OS.

I have never had the beachball – I think you mean the rainbow spiral thing, and that only came up when running heaps of programs (iTunes, Safari, Sims 2 with extension packs, Photoshop, iMovie, iDVD, Garageband, iPhoto, MSN, Adium, Word and Keynote – I had assignments for Music, English, PDM and IT)

Maybe I’m just lucky – all the windows ones were free so I expected crappiness and mostly got it (but they were pretty old so I forgive them), while I paid for my mac (yep, it’s expensive – but I personally prefer it to windows)

I am not a mac fangirl, nor a windows non-fangirl – I like computers as long as they don’t break and run iTunes.

Any way my Mac was only $1900 (with applecare – my dad wanted to buy it for me so I didn’t complain) The only thing that I was annoyed with is that a few months later they were selling them for $1400 – $200 less than mine (without applecare).

PCs definitely have more compatible software and hardware.
Whatever you’re doing for work or to spent time you have always several choices. Whatever your budget is you have always several choices.

PCs are cheaper to buy, cheaper to fix.
Simple example. you want to replace your CD drive? A Mac user has to pay almost 20 times more than a PC user at a Mac store, 10 times more if hes risking to open the box of Pandora ( same applies almost to any Mac hardware )

With Windows or with a Linux distro a PC is faster, cheaper and more useful than a Mac.

some other facts…

- Mac OS is just a Linux distro with some shiny Icons and not more! Linux is FREE, Mac OS is overpriced!

- Mac OS is easier to hack than Windows and/or Linux.

- There ARE viruses for Mac OS and Apple is selling an overpriced Anti virus software.

- If you ask 5 Mac user why they bought a Mac, 3 of them will answer ” It looks good”, 1 of them will say “Its safer”, the other one still doesn’t know

- Apple is spamming people with their piggyback software.
You want to install Quicktime? It comes with iTunes. Ooh and iTunes comes with Safari. And they all come with Bonjour

- Mac OS and all Apple software is using ridicules amount of ram so you can buy more of their expensive hardware.
Ram upgrade for a normal Mac user = $$$ for ram + $$$$$$$$ to Mac Store to get the ram built in.

- When I see a Mac in your living room I don’t think it looks nice. I think that you’re a douche for paying so much for something that useless.

- When you own a Mac you’re not a designer. Real designers work on PCs.

- When you own a Mac you’re not hip/cool/awesome/…/… , you have wasted your or your parents hard earned money.

My advice, get a PC with decent amount of ram and Windows XP Pro x64. That will be worth every penny. My Pc boots under 15 secs, I can play any game, render a video or graphic, I can browse 20 internet pages, and the best thing is I can do all of it at the same time! Plus, I have spent maybe a quarter for my PC than I would have spent on a Mac that could do the same thing

Mac has already beat Windows in gaming.

The only USB 3.0 that has happened as of yet is the cables for them have been released… this week. By ONE company. Mainstream consumer USB 3.0 isn’t live until 2010, which is when you’ll actually see one on a machine.

I don’t even remember USB 1.0 – USB 1.1 was the first to be very widely adopted. 2.0 came out NINE years ago, Pc fan. Parts of your post are time travelling either from next year or from six years ago!!!

Someone needs to take a representative sample of at least 1000 systems, perform a controlled experiment with independent/dependent variables, and get statistically significant data. THEN we can decide which is better.

But pc’s can have about 15 that do the same thing. suck it.

1) Denouncement of the fact that the Mac platform probably has better security than Windows.

2) Little to no knowledge of the Mac platform (easy to spot, they’ll use the term “MAC” in all uppercase, which anyone with ‘half a brain’ should know that stands for Media Access Control, and is associated with networking connections.)

3) Mentions customizability of the Windows Operating System, but fails to realize that if they really wanted customizability, they wouldn’t be running Windows– they’d be running Linux.

4) Worst case scenario- they downright deny that the Mac Platform is easy to use.

5) Tend to stereotype users of the Mac platform as being stupid, idiotic brainless brats who haven’t a clue of what they’re talking about.

6) Generally compare Newer PC systems to much Older, out of date Mac platforms.

7) (Semi rare scenario) Make wild claims about software made by Apple in a few years doesn’t run right with the Operating System that it’s specifically designed for. (This is most likely caused by the problems many users have trying to get new versions of Microsoft Software on their Windows box including, but certainly not limited to, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Vista, and, um, oh yes, Internet Explorer, the only browser that gets worse with each version number increment.

Final verdict: Both platforms have advantages, Windows having things like– wait, I just got done slamming it– mkay, FINAL FINAL verdict: Both PCs and Macs have advantages, and to say that one completely and without question triumphs over the other is just a waste of your breath, and really, people THAT ignorant shouldn’t even be using computers anyways.
