Yeah that’s pretty much how it goes down at my house. I think the unsaved video game is interchangeable with an unsaved 10 page essay, also.
Unsaved 10 page essay? Haven’t you learned to hit Ctrl+S after every sentence?
Except that most current Word Processors will save your paper at certain intervals and allow you to restore if need be if the program closes unexpectedly. Also, everyone should put a UPS on their computer to prevent just such a problem.
(I’ve had many friends who have gone through this…I personally have never been caught unprepared.
)
bet you i could… see you next thanksgiving HAHAHAHA
Don’t you mean macro every single key on your keyboard to ctrl+s so that after every letter you type it saves it?
Save early. Save often.
I dont know, 9 unsaved hours of Splinter Cell might be worse
Why is talking on the phone on this graph. The last I remember, it doesn’t matter if the power goes out and you are on the phone
not EVERYONE has a cell phone!!! haven’t you ever heard of a house phone that you plug into your wall???
You can’t use a cordless phone without power, but the actual phone line has a certain amount of electricity going through it, separate from the house’s electricity, and therefore, you could use a regular, corded wall phone even when the power is out. Think before you speak.
That’s why i have handhelds.
I don’t watch a lot of TV but invariably, when there is something I want to see and have been waiting weeks for it to come on there will be a power outage!
People still read books? Hmmm, interesting!
an e-book is a book too.
Got all my ebooks on my Nintendo DS, yay
I’ve always wanted to try a book on tape…one day
ahh i like to think this just happened to the person who made it, and they were so mad they decided “to make a graph on GraphJam- that’ll show the videogame!” xD fun ^.^
but the powers out so how can they go on the internet
they sat and waited till it was back up! xD lol
it’s probably more like, “ah i finally finished this graph, now to click submit…CRAP GODDAM POWER”
This is kind of ironic as where I live right now there have been 2 power outages in less than two days.
thats not ironic, its just coincidental :O
True. Vocabulary fail for me.
Ah, the advantages of laptops and/or UPSes
If your laptop was just about be be recharged? :O
See link.
OMGWTFBBQ! That’s so inconvenient! Murphy’s Law! HAH!
And the first one is most disappointing…
Lol that always happens to me! My ds will always run out of battery right after I got an awesome prize or a high score. U shouldve added ‘while i’m writing my (unsaved) midterm paper’
I agree with the term paper there. I remember one day, my laptop decided to shut off in the middle of the night (I hadn’t saved, but it was left finished and open). Needless to say, I panicked.
Anyone who doesn’t save their paper, like, every few minutes, deserves that power outage. It takes a second to click that little icon.
Sometimes you can’t help the game saves. Yay save points that are spread out over an hour of game play at a time.
I started saving every two minutes after this happened to me twice.
XD this has happened too many times to me!!!! i was a few hits from beating Kefka on FF3/6 and the power goes out on me!!!! and oncei get power back i find myself back before getting Cyan!!!!! oh i was pissed at myself !!!!!
That so happened to me, too. Ever since, ive been obsessed with saving my games as often as possible.
Dr. Egon Spengler: We’ll cross the streams.
Dr. Peter Venkman: ‘Scuse me Egon? You said crossing the streams was bad!
Dr Ray Stantz: Cross the streams…
Dr. Peter Venkman: You’re gonna endanger us!
*BOOM* power outage… CRAP
happens all the time
Do i hear a sound of frustration somewhere in all of this?
if you didn’t your deaf
you’re*
Most contemporary gaming systems and their subsequent games are fitted with autosave features, Incidentally, most games will notify the user of this fact before gameplay has begun, warning them not to powerdown or stop gameplay if such features are in action
i was baking brownies when my lights went out
so true
The last one is so true (BOF:Dragon quarter WHERE YOU HAVE A DA*N GOOD REASON NOT TO SAVE!!!!!(Look it up))
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU…
Well, that’s good and bad for me. Good because it’s unlikely I’ll get a power outage while reading, which I love to do. However, I also enjoy video games.
Darn.
Not First
That’s why you should ALWAYS save often.
