Wonder if that has anything to do with the fact the it’s an hour-long show?
Exactly.
I guess it does, but normaly after the first 30min they get better then when they are just about to leave they get sick again!
Also. It’s. Not. Lupus.
It’s NEVER LUPIS!
It was once.
Yes! It was in the fourth season. Nobody ever did anything in the fourth season. :/ But the show was still better than most stuff on television these days.
You can summarize the show with the sentence:
Patient almost dies, but his disease is NEVER ever what first came in mind.
How very true…. and yet i love the show and House’s character
the ‘patent vomits blood’ section should be like 3/4 of the chart!
They either vomit blood or it comes out of some other orfice. : D
or they vomit in general.
haha exactly!
Really, its basically always the same but i still love it…
Everyone makes a suggestion, all of them are wrong,
house gives treatment without testing it in the beginning, inturbating, Fight with cuddy and at the end house has a very fantastic idea which is luckily solveable. Hey hey
correction, its never LUPUS. except once.
Well, sometimes they do get sent home in the first 30, but have to come back cause the doc’s were wrong. Also, I’m sure there is at least one episode where what they thought it was at first, then disregarded, turned out to be right.
I love House
Excactly they get better witin the first 30 but then when they are about to leave they slip into a comma or get sick again!
IT’S NOT LUPUS
Are you sure?
Did u give him/her an LP, CT, MRI or tox-screen?
ANA was negative for lupus.
Blood cultures are positive for African Trypanosomiasis. He/She needs Eflornithine.
ANA is only positive in 90% of cases. And blood cultures take a week to grow.
Start treatment for both!
He’s seizing! We’ve got to intubate!!
Right? I can’t believe they forgot to put in the slice about intubation! They do it like every episode!
Or a slice about lombar punctions, at least in the first seasons every patient needed one…
or they do a MRI, or a LP every episode
It’s gotta be Lupus.
Its not Lupus!
IT’S NOT A TOUMAH
It’s NEVER Lupus!
House hides vicodin pills in a lupus textbook.
´cause it´s never Lupus….exept once
It’s a tumor. It’s always a tumor. Even when it’s not a tumor, it’s a tumor.
im with zifnab it is deffetntly a tumor a tumer.
LOL!
iiim a tumor, im a tumor, im a tumor, im a tumor!
*does the tumor dance*
oh sorry, yah its a tumor.
haha my thoughts exactly!

dyah know your all right actually in about 6 different episodes the patient had a tumor but it wasn’t the cause of their sickness
Say it like Chase: “et’s ay chewma’”
*says it outloud* Heeey, that IS how he says it! xD
Omg you’re right that’s kinda scary….. this show is gross yet somehow addicting. lol
I think it’s addicting because House is such an ass.
And, yes. It is gross.
people wouldnt watch the show if he were nice
ET’S NOT A TOOMA!
Haha yesss that’s the correct phonetic indeed.
Now, now…. on the rerun I somehow ended up watching last night, it was a psychological disorder leading to an illegal heart transplant….
Don’t forget to mention the emergency tracheotomy.
and the emergency labotomy
Forgot breaking and entering. Also, if it’s season 5 and it’s sweeps, lesbian sex.
huh???
i approve of this comment.
Don’t forget rectal bleeding either!
That was exactly what I was thinking!!
You have one sick mind…
I was expecting 90% of the graph to be “It’s a tumor”
I was expecting 0% of the graph to be “It’s lupus”
But there was one single episode where it WAS lupus! Last season!
JESUS CHRIST WHICH SEASON
JESUS CHRIST FOURTH SEASON
thank you
And there was an episode where it was Sjogren’s syndrome, which is in the lupus family. Is it ok that I have a crush on house? Not Hugh Laurie, just his character. I feet like a nut job.
Naw, House would be fun to bang. Just for the hell of it. Just so long as you are the one that leaves (that way you get the fun power struggle + role reversal going on).
it’s ok, heck even i have a crush on house and I’m not gay
Oh, I have a massive crush on House and he’s probably twice my age. Don’t worry about it, you’re not the only one!
Lupus definitely deserved a space on the chart.
Even though this chart is true, you guys do realize that the show is mostly about the relationships between people, and only uses “medicine” as a premise to realize that idea.
You forgot the % where someone says It’s Lupus, and someone else saying, IT’S NEVER LUPUS.
CANCER!
It’s always cancer!!
YES! While I agree with the lupus comments (def over the ‘vomits blood’ section of the chart), they predominantly always think that it’s some kind of cancer. Always, really.
Wasn’t there a point where it was always vasculitis? Like, back in first season?
I’m so glad I’m not the only one who remembers that! I wonder why lupus suddenly became the disease du jour… I kind of miss vasculitis.
ah the good old days
really, any irritation can be considered vasculitis.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vasculitis
It’s always something easily curable by the end.
Except when Foreman f’ed up and his treatment killed someone who would have been easily cured.
I know it was wrong, but I lol’d at that episode, and many there after.
He didn’t want to be like House, but he’s the most Houseish…Housey…House-like….Oh, hell, he acts the most like him.
Personally, I’d go with Houseish.
Yah me too
You SO forgot about Lupus! Everyone thinks the case is Lupus at first!
Its like
House “this man has tumours in his brain”
Team “IT’S LUPUS”
House “this man has a knife wound to his neck”
Team “IT’S LUPUS”
But, but… where’s the huge slice labeled “patient nearly dies due to misdiagnosis”??! That happens at least three times per episode…
hell yeah thats what the entire show is about, lupus and misdiagnostics
The smallest percentage should have been “House shaves”.
Well he acutally shaved in 5×16
Man, i’ve been put out of a job.
The graph is wrong. There should only be one slice that says: “all of the above”
There should be a slice where the team is sent to search the patient’s home. A big slice. At my house, we wait for that moment so we can say it with House.
They forgot going blind!!
Whoever did this graph has obviously only seen a couple episodes of House. Heart Attack? I can’t remember more than one or two episodes where a patient actually has a heart attack. This graph is totally not funny or correct to anyone who DOES watch the show regularly.
BAD GRAPH!
how many episodes have YOU watched, i’ve seen them all and there’s a heart attack in almost every other episode
Well, no not really – its not in every other episode, but they do tend to almost loose a patient because of heart failure or kidneys shutting down very very often.
yeah multi-organ failure is a common one
Jaundice also happens a lot.
O NOES HIS EYES ARE YELLOW.
So…. what happened in the one episode where the patient went home in the first thirty minutes? Kind of ruined the last half of the show, didn’t it?
Well, there was the mob one where the patient went home…but he was back in two hours.
House pretty much goes like this: Patient vomits blood/faints, comes in, gets diagnosed, is given medicine, gets better, gets worse, stops breathing, paddles are used, is rediagnosed, is given different medicine, gets even worse, liver fails, is diagnosed with something fatal, is about to be operated on, House has an epiphany in a That’s-So-Raven kind of way, and it’s either an STD or some kind of tumor. House pops pills, the end!
Regardless, I love House with all my heart and soul.
This is the best thread ever!
agreed
you forget to say : ” O% of cases : pacient has lupus “
And you forgot to read the rest of the thread where people have stated that about 50 time
A more accurate representation:
Patients that tell the truth ~5%
Patients that lie, and eventually fess up ~10%
Patients that lie, and House calls them out/embarasses them ~85%
I’d rather say ‘cardiac or respiratory arrest’, not heart attack
))
How about the predictable suggestion of “sarcoidosis” as a possible diagnosis…I swear it’s in 47% of all episodes!
i think they choose several diseases and use them repeatedly in one series then choose a new set for the next
I love that far away look House gets when he thinks of the genius solution. Always about 10 mins before the end. Staring…off…into…space. ….Light bulb…
With all its flaws, the show IMO, is brilliant.
Even if it does get repetative at times, it is far more interesting then CSI…
LUPIS! No… STD! No… TUMOUR!! No wait… it’s something you’ve had since a child that’s come out now…
What about oddo- immoon? Come ON people!
shoulda put another color on the side said patient has lupus and didnt put it in the graph
forgot to say
because its never lupus
Don’t forget all the times they think it’s Lupus…
It’s more often anal bleeding, rather than vomit blood
