I hope no one is cashing out their 401k before selling off their furniture…damn…
See, that’s the joke, implying that his 401k is now worth less than his furniture. And now it’s not funny anymore because I’ve had to go and spell it out.
also, what couch cushion is he looking under if he sold his furniture?
Obama’s couch cushion
win.
The time line goes up to down, not down to up like one would assume. Also, try to pretend this is a chart instead of a line graph since this makes no sense as a line graph.
Thats what I want to know….there’s no couch cushion when the furniture’s been sold.
Ah, I see — it’s only funny if you’re totally clueless as to what an investment is. Sorry, I always forget to bash my head against my desk before trying to interpret humor on the internet.
WTF is the timeline doin on the y axis ?
that was my first question. maybe if the creator were smarter, he would have a better investment plan than recovering loose change
good sir, i concur
Thank you. Would make this whole thing alot easier to read.
and upside down
Damnit, I thought at least the guys from GraphJam would know.
INDEPENDENT VALUES GO ON THE X-AXIS!
Time, for example. The plan depends on the given time, so THAT goes on the Y-Axis.
Yup, totally should have been a bar graph or something remotely more legit.
By what pray tell would you have measured the height of the bars? Is selling furniture six or ten higher than cashing out the 401k? Can’t graph a categorical variable like this at all.
You grossly overestimate the guys from GraphJam.
Time isn’t an independent variable, and it is not uniform.
you can whore yourself out to 1000 fat chicks…
Or, or 50 REALLY fat chicks…
What?!?!?! Fat chicks need loving too. They just have to pay!
He/she wants to emphasize on the “down-going” off his or her money. The graph would suck shifted upwards D:
Even if you switched the x and y axis, it would still go down as time goes on.
not if you put portfolio at the top and change at the bottom. fail.
If you already sold the furniture, you can’t dig out the change in the sofa.
And thus we must assume that he is availing himself of the monetary value found under someone elses furniture.
wow… reading these comments is like being in an alternate reality where jokes don’t exist.
Badly made graphs even more so.
I can only dream about having cashed out my 401K in Jan08.
Cashing out your 401k would be really stupid, unless you’re going to retire immediately. The market will get better, just learn from the situation and maybe you’ll be better prepared for when it gets bad again. Because you know it will, you may or may not be alive when it happens again, but it’s better to be safe than sorry.
How would you look for change under your sofa if you sold it on craig’s list?
GAH put your independent variable on the x axis
X-(
epic fail. how can you find change in your sofa if u sold it on craig’s list?
how did you search for change in your couch after you sold your furniture?
