        WTF?? No WAY.

        • Adam says:

Actually, I WOULD like her to run so she can become a laughingstock again and kill the republicans’ chances of getting the presidency for another 4 years

          • shin0bi272 says:

with obama’s opinion already down to 55% in under a month I think it will be the democrats who have to worry in 2012

          • kittyjan says:

yeah great so we can pay for more poor peoples’ mortgages.
good grief, get a grip on what’s happening.

            Mitt Romney ‘12

            • Winter says:

Come on man, have a heart. There is a great deal less social mobility in this country than you would think. Most “poor people” are simply born into low income families and either through discouragement or lack of opportunity and education, never manage to make it to the middle class. And besides, the middle class itself is actually bearing the brunt of the depression.

Besides, in a strange, convoluted way, not being selfish results in greater benefits for you. If you “pay for the poor peoples’ mortgages” that results in considerably more spending power available to the economy, as a large block of consumers will no longer be bogged down by payments. This will lead to more purchases and greater profits, revitalizing companies and giving them the ability to expand and take on more workers. With employment rising and companies back on track, the result is greater prosperity for everyone.

That’s a rather simplified version, and obviously more factors are involved,. but that’s pretty much Keynesian Economics in a nutshell.

              • KJ says:

that is the dumbest thing I have ever heard a lib say

                • Winter says:

Just saying something is stupid doesn’t actually prove a point, it just makes it look like you don’t have any argument against it.

And how would you do it? We’ve already tried Trickle Down theory, and guess what, it didn’t work. No matter how many tax cuts you give to the rich and affluent, they’re still not going to be able to make any money when nobody has the ability to actually buy what they’re selling.

So tell me then, just how is the idea of rebuilding from the ground up stupid? Enlighten this poor, misguided soul.

              • hal9000 says:

actually, the poor were encouraged by our government to get into homes
they could not afford. thats why fannie & freddie were established. “because every person deserves a great home.” bull. people in this country used to know how to spend within thier means. WHEN WILL AMERICANS STOP USING THE CREDIT SYSTEM???
mark my words unless you stop using cards, (i dont care if its debit, every card transaction still has all your info hidden within) whereas cash is untraceable
YOU DONT NEED $1,500 WASHING MACHINES! YOU DONT NEED $600 DYSON VACUUMS! THESE ARE THE EXCUSES FOR THE EXISTENCE OF CONSUMER CREDIT. the government is just like any other sheep, any other human LACK OF RESPONSIBILITY. PEOPLE DONT WANT TO HEAR THE INCONVENIENT TRUTH THAT IF YOU ARENT RICH YOU CANT AFFORD LUXURIES. PERIOD!!! ITS NOT TTHAT YOU DONT DESERVE IT BECUASE YOU DONT WORK AS HARD AS THE RICH, BUT THAT LIFE IS NOT FAIR AND PEOPLE DONT WANT TO BELIEVE THAT LIFE IS ANYTHING BUT SOME FAIRYTALE. keep in mind, the age old phrase, MONEY CANT BUY YOU HAPPINESS, AND CREDIT CAN ONLY BUY YOU DESPAIR.

you remind me of another story like this (It’s true too, happened to Dan Pinkwater, who works @ NPR.)He tried to buy a house from some guy.The problem was, the 2nd guy didnt have a bank account cause he didnt trust the credit system. So, the 1st guy had to pay him IN CASH at the bank. for a HOUSE.

          • KJ says:

she wasn’t a laughingstock….Obama is if he thinks this stupid stimulus package is going to create jobs…but hey, you voted him in, now deal with it

            • Kate says:

Were you living in a hole? Or maybe you live out in appalachia and dont get cable or internet, frequently. How in the world can you say she wasn’t a laughing stock? I mean, even if you strayed away from extreme liberal media, just about half of the interviews she had made fun of her. Maybe you’re tpo dense to realize. Go look at the Katy Courick interviews. Yeah, they seem innocent at first, but after you realize what’s going on, Palin looks like a damn fool.

              • Crim says:

Every interview I’ve seen that wasn’t born from one of the mainstream outlets, or even fox news (before the election, when they finally pulled their heads out of their collective asses), she was very intelligent.

Is it so hard to believe that the woman got a raw deal? Hell, same thing happened to Hillary. Only difference was that the media couldn’t totally bork Hillary on account of her last name.

            • Alex Simtex says:

Man, what an a_ _ hole! I really thought that there were not people as stupid as you sound!

Really cannot believe there are people like you!

              Man, oh, man.

            • Drew says:

Her election was a joke, she isn’t.

yeah.. dude that’s the joke….. you killed it for me

        • Anna says:

Adam. If you are a democrat the point is because she is an idiot. She would loose and the democrats would get a clear path to victory. How old am I? How old I are? I’m not of voting age and I understand political jokes. I bet you are 40’s.

          • forge says:

Hate to break it to you Aggie, um, but abortion IS legal. Has been for a really long time. In fact if I recall correctly, it was never illegal, ever. This completely aside from the fact that Obama never said any such thing, of course.

            • Aggiefitz says:

This is aside from the fact that Obama, in one of his campaign speeches at Planned Parenthood(readily available to anyone who knows how to use youtube) He promised public funding to Planned Parenthood.

              • forge says:

Planned Parenthood =/= abortion clinics. Massive epic FAIL.

                  Yes it does.
When most of your business comes from providing abortions, it is primarily an abortion clinic.

                  • Kate says:

How does Obama giving funding to planned parenthood mean he is making abortion legal? I mean, that was your first argument, however stupid. You said he was bad for making abortion legal. One, he didn’t do it. It was already done. And two, your backup is completely different.

                  • Gordon says:

Wtf? Planned Parenthood does FAAAARRRR more than perform abortions, and even then, not all PP clinics perform them. PP offers contraceptive methods for those who cannot otherwise obtain them (ie teens too afraid to speak to their parents about getting on the pill or purchasing condoms, but are at least responsible enough to seek out safe sex methods), provide classes on everything sexual under the sun (safe sex, parenting classes, etc), STD testing and treatment options, adoption services, help with obtaining state-funded medical care (ie Medicaid), pregnancy tests, even some offer prenatal care and ultrasounds depending on the clinic. PP exists to further the sexual education of this country and I commend them for it. While I don’t condone teen sex, you can’t really stop them if they’ve set their minds to doing it, and at least PP is one of those organizations that realize it and help to provide resources for them to at least be responsible with the decisions they make.

Like stated above, PP =/= an abortion clinic, and it is NOT their main source of revenue. Quit hating on companies because it is cool to bash them if you’re a conservative and actually do research onto what they do.

                    • forge says:

So totally this. PP prevents pregnancies which prevents abortions. Not funding them is just another form of Conservative insane stupidity.

                      • SRF says:

According to Planned Parenthood’s website the organization lists abortion procedures as 3% of its total services, they claim 81% of their services went to “prevention” which apparently included prevention of STDs, prevention of pregnancy and cancer screening. When you combine those 3 percentages the sum is 79% (they may infact be using the abortion percent to arrive at their 81% prevention number).

Included in the 81% is contraception (38%), included in contraception is emergency contraception kits or abortion by pill (36% of the 38%), reversible contraception (birth control) amounts to 61% of the 38%. Planned Parenthood counts handing out pills as a service. They also count handing out condoms as a service, 2% of the 38%. Anyone who has ever been in a Planned Parenthood will tell they hand the condoms out for free and much of the other birth control is handed out for free. What their data does not demonstrate is that when a woman comes in for an abortion all these services are provided. She receives what they consider counseling, reversible contraception, some condemns, std testing, cancer screening and probably cancer screening. So for every abortion performed they get to check off each of the other services along with the abortion.

The costs of an abortion at planned parenthood ranges from $372 to $468 and in many cases $0 if the woman cannot pay. http://ask.metafilter.com/58877/How-much-does-an-abortion-cost

This makes it extremely hard to put a hard number on what percentage of Planned Parenthood’s revenue is derived from abortions and it could be easily manipulated by the organization. Planned Parenthood shows their total revenue from health center income as $356.9 million in the year 2007. If you multiply 289, 750 abortion procedures by $420 (median of $372 & $468) you get $121,695,000.00 which would be 34% of their total revenue. Planned Parenthood does not publish how much of their annual revenue is derived from abortions for obvious reasons.

The numbers above do not take into account any revenue from emergency contraception services (the morning after pill). The morning after pill can cost from $8.00 to $50.00. If you take the low number $8 multiplied by 1,436,846 would produce $11,494,768.00. Added to the above revenue number ($121,695,000.00 + $11,494,768.00) $133,189,768.00 or 37% of Planned Parenthood’s health center income is derived from abortion in some form.

Planned Parenthood lists 22 services available at their clinics, at a conservative estimate 37% of their health center income is derived from 1 of those 22 services. When 37% of your organizations income is derived from 4% (3% by planned parenthood’s calculation) of its services I think it is safe to call that service your organizations major revenue producer and your organizations most valuable income stream. Some organizations would call it a “cash cow”.

I think if Planned Parenthood would publish revenue tables matching their services tables we would learn that by far the majority of their health center income is directly derived from abortions.

                        Here is your cite forge.

                        SRF – Texas A&M ‘94

                      • SRF says:

If Planned Parenthood prevents pregnancies which prevents abortions, why does the number of abortions performed by Planned Parenthood increase every year?

                        • forge says:

Defunding of programs for sex education and condom distribution. Desperation at the prospect of bringing an infant into a world created by George W. Bush.

          • ????? says:

Ok, story time! (This is another true story from the book Never Cry Wolf by Farley Mowat.)

So basically, Farley is this scientist who studies wolves in the Yukon for the Canadian Gov, which is concerned about caribou populations affected by wolves. He finds that wolves make virtually no impact on caribou populations, eating only the sick and dying from the herd. So one day he’s in a bar and a hunter bursts through the door and offers him proof that they kill caribou. The man says they killed a whole herd of moose. So he goes there, annnnnnnnnnd…
there is a whole herd of caribou, dead on the ground, dying the snow red.

With their heads cut off and helicopter tracks in the snow.

So it turns out that there is a moose head industry up there purely for the benefit of businessmen and CEOs who buy the heads and put them on their walls as decorations and the caribou herds were endangered because a fatcat somewhere wanted a decoration for his wall.

            The end!

  3. Kris says:

    I’m a Democrat and I don’t approve this message.

    • Sarah says:

      I concur.

    • s says:

ur missing the point. I’m a lifelong dem. The reason we WANT her to run is that she’s way to whack-ass and dumb to ever get elected.

      • Eddy says:

See, but the thing is, she’s terrifying. There are people who would vote for her, and the sheer number of them frightens me.

        • forge says:

The only reason she didn’t get elected this time was John McCain.

          • shin0bi272 says:

exactly… shes the only reason john mccain didnt go down in total flames … he only lost by what 3 or 4%? A BIG chunk of those votes were for palin … like mine. I voted for huckabee in the primaries and wasnt going to vote for mccain till he actually selected a VP who actually held some conservative beliefs.

            • Sir_Scarfalot says:

obviously you are confusing the popular vote and the electoral vote. McCain lost by over 100 electoral votes, which are the only ones that actually count. Yeah the pop was way closer but still, a pres can and will go into office even if their popular vote was LESS than their competititon.

Just facts. Now my opinion: “I ran for vice president? that makes me qualified to be the president! YAAAY!”

            • forge says:

Except (all due respect) those aren’t real conservative beliefs; they’re meddlesome Fundamentalist beliefs. Real conservatives know government has no business telling anyone whether or not they can get an abortion, or who they can marry. People who want the government to control morality are fooling themselves; politicians are the most immoral creatures that walk the earth today, and no amount of wishful thinking or Bible-thumping by any candidate is going to change that. If a candidate wraps himself or herself in either the flag or the Bible, the first thing you should do is RUN. SCREAMING.

              • Aggiefitz says:

You are right (sort of) The government has no business telling you who you can marry, but they certainly can protect the life of an unborn child.

                • forge says:

Well, they *can.* WILL they? If abortion is outlawed it will mean that this country has gone insane. Well, even more insane than it already is. Outlawing abortions, for the first part, only really means outlawing them for lower-income people; rich people merely have a procedure called “dilation & cauterization” and amazingly, it magically makes little Buffy’s pregnancy problem disappear. For the second part, you will have so. Much. Carnage on your hands that it will blow your tiny Fundamentalist mind right out the back of your skull. Unless of course you don’t care about hundreds of dead or permanently sterile little girls. Which would make you a classic Fundamentalist conservative. Which I hope you’re not.

                  • Aggiefitz says:

You are a classic close minded liberal. You spout many unfounded “facts” that you provide no source for, such as the rich peoples “abortions”
What carnage will result from not allowing girls to be absolved from personal responsibility by not letting them kill their baby?

                    • tyler says:

uhmmm the carnage that can come from forcing females too undeveloped to actually carry a child in their womb safely to give birth? …. dude, get a brain? please?

                    • ????? says:

O snap! KILLERS, you say??? well, that’s bad! (of course, aerial wolf shooting with machine guns doesn’t count.)

plus, have you ever actually been in that situation?

me neither, so i think the ones that are should have the choice.

Have fun cuddling with your fetus!

                • A Miller says:

What about the lives of innocent civilians that the military kills?

              • Failerella says:

                well said.

            • ok says:

I have the opposite opinion, the only reason I DIDN’T vote for McCain was because he had this idiotic, wannabe as his VP choice, anyone else and he might have gotten my vote.

              • forge says:

Same here, except I liked McCain in 2000 and the McCain that campaigned in ‘08 was clearly NOT that McCain. As evidenced by the fact he let the string-pullers stick him with that insane bucket of bollocks Palin.

      • shin0bi272 says:

and Jimmy Carter was a brain surgeon?

        • Grumpy Curmudgeon says:

          This means what, again?

        • Sir_Scarfalot says:

er, what? ya lost me at “jimmy carter”.

        • Winter says:

You seem to have misunderstood. The insult wasn’t against Palin’s intelligence, but rather against her sanity, which, given some of the things she believes to be effective as governmental policy, has come into question.

        • forge says:

Jimmy Carter was Chief Engineering Officer on board the USS Seawolf and was qualified in nuclear reactor power, but left the navy before the first nuclear-powered submarine launched in 1955. He may have had “nuke you lah” -itis, but he was no idiot, not by a very, VERY long shot.

      • 8E says:

        …so was Bush.

        Twice. :/

      • KJ says:

you are just too small minded to get the facts…Obama has had so many screwups in his speeches, it’s a wonder how he ever got elected. Oh yes, people turned their backs on the real issues cause they wanted Bush out…but he’s doing such a good job so far…appointing tax evaders and all

    • DURRR says:

Apparently a dumb democrat who didn’t get the joke… they obviously want her to run so that its an easy win for the next dem candidate

    • ShadowSplicer says:

you dont approve, well, TUFF NUBS!

    • Ashton says:

I agree. I would rather perform fellatio on a shotgun.

      • Phaelin says:

        Ooh, double barreled at that!

      • shin0bi272 says:

hey dont let us stop you. But if you do your precious government wont get all your many hundreds of tax dollars each year. So before you do blow your worthless liberal head off, sell your car and your house and your possessions (kids if you have cursed the world with more demon spawn like you) and send it to the government.

        • kittyjan says:

          hear hear!!!

        • Winter says:

And what’s so wrong with the government having money? 1: they don’t actually ask for very much of it. 2: most of that money goes towards benefiting society as a whole. We saw what kind of government would result if it never had the power to get any funds under the Articles of Confederation, and its utter uselessness was the whole reason the Constitution was drafted in the first place.

So feel free to keep all your money, if you happen to have a nice car but no roads to drive it on, a nice house but nothing to keep it safe, and plenty of valuables but no one to prevent anyone from stealing them.

          • KJ says:

yeh, most of that money goes to benefiting society as a whole…yah right! Myabe they can use some more of our tax dollars to std prevention and seeding the white house lawn…these are real important issues ya know?

  4. Atlantis says:

    You forgot Tina Fey fans.

  5. shelleykaye says:

if she runs and wins, i’ll renounce my citizenship and live elsewhere. I can’t abide a president who is dumber than George W…

    • Lark88 says:

She’s a Governor with at least a 75% approval rating. She must be doing something right. Besides, the only reason most people think she’s dumb is because SNL and the Daily Show said so.

      • shelleykaye says:

Yeah, you’re on to something there, Lark88. I guess my view of her has been skewed from that. Which is really sad, when you think about it, because with myself and other people viewing her like that, they won’t give her fair consideration.

      • Anon says:

Oh I suppose you’re right. Because SNL and the Daily Show said so. It has nothing at all to do with every interview where she didn’t even know what U.S. foreign policy is, and couldn’t answer simple questions posed to her by reporters and pundits alike. Or the fact that she wouldn’t even answer direct questions given to her during the vice-presidential debate. None of that has anything at all to do with why people think she’s a dumbass.

      • Gravity72 says:

Of course, other people have listened to her fairly and still decided she’s a moron. She didn’t even know what the Bush Doctrine was… (linked)

        • Lark88 says:

There are four different doctrines called the “Bush Doctrine.” That why she said,
in what respect, Charlie?” She was asking him which one, but he wouldn’t be specific.

      • gamingkitty says:

Lark, did her ratings go back up? A quick Google pulled up an Anchorage
news report from early October saying she’d dropped to 68% — http://www.adn.com/sarah-palin/story/542179.html

      • ennazu says:

never mind that SNL didn’t explicitly say she was dumb so much as repeat what she said word for word….

      • Aggiefitz says:

Every interview as in the small snippets where she said something stupid that the Daily Show and SNL made fun of.
Obama said that he had campaigned in 57 states. If McCain had said that it would be everywhere.
Obama got all the easy questions, never once answered any question with anything besides “yes we can” and “CHANGE!”
The people screamed for a politician who was a regular person, who actually understood the American people. When they got one, she was shot down.

        • Grumpy Curmudgeon says:

Jeezus, I was just starting to like Americans (as a group: as individuals YMMV) but now you tell me that an American “regular person” is an overbearing, corrupt religious bigot with barely two brain-cells to rub together, strutting around with delusions of adequacy whil;e wearing over-priced clothes bought on someone else’s dime.

Sorry guys and gals, but I hate you again.

To the hordes of Obama haters: Yes. He’s a Democrat, and he’s Black, and he’s your god-damn president. Learn to deal with it, you’ve got at least 3 years 11 months to go.

          • Pheemz says:

Perhaps you should change you name from Grumpy Curmudgeon to Stupid Twat.

Stick your inane stereotyping up your arse, then see if you can find room up there for a hornet nest too, there’s a good little knobhead.

            • Grumpy Curmudgeon says:

I’m sorry, but almost-half of you voted for King Shrub the Lesser TWICE. Yeah, I know that’s not a majority, but it’s still large enough for me to question the intelligence, nay, sanity of the average American.

I’m sure, though, that many of you are actually wonderful people.

              Just not Pheemz.

            • Leanna says:

Grow a brain, he’s ten times smarter than your entire redneck family combined.

          • cmac says:

            DAMN. BECAUSE YOU ACTUALLY MATTER.

        • forge says:

“They took her out of context???” ARE YOU SERIOUS??? Did you ever WATCH the whole Couric interview? Or the debate? The woman. Cannot. Form. A sentence. The joke of her is that she is the joke. Tina Fey didn’t have to write anything, just recite what Palin said VERBATIM. I am not making this up.

        • forge says:

I can’t believe you say Palin was “taken out of context” and then take Obama out of context. Anyone who listens to more than nine words in a row of what Obama says knows he knows what he’s talking about and means what he says. He’s not a slogan-driven president; he’s not anything at all like the stupid worthless Cracker we’ve had up there the last 8 years “with us or agin us,” “bring it on,” “mission accomplished” and all his other worthless lies packaged as kicky slogans. PLEASE for the love of Christ, stop this crap.

          • Daina says:

I agree with you, but you shouldn’t use racist terms like “cracker”, it brings us all down.

          • Aggiefitz says:

Why don’t you stop your crap. Stop parroting tired talking points that Keith Olbermann and the rest of MSNBC told you to say. What did Bush do to screw us up? Yes we are in a mess, but what exactly did Bush do to cause all this?
There isn’t any way that this financial meltdown in the responsibility of the millions of people who simply took out loans they couldn’t afford, costing banks millions of dollars. I guess Clinton also lied in 1998 when he and his cronies like Nancy Pelosi all won political points by saying that Saddams weapons of mass destruction program had to be stopped.

And have you ever heard Obama speak without his tele-prompter? It’s funny.

            • lowly grunt says:

              HAHAHAHAHA!!!

              Oh, wait. You were serious.

              HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

              • Aggiefitz says:

                Excellent point
Oh wait, you didn’t make one.

                • Winter says:

Alright then, allow me to make the point for him.

The economic woes that we are currently experiencing can be traced back to the last eight years of governmental policy. I’m not going to waste my time explaining all of them, but let me address the one you mentioned specifically: the housing market.

We used to have regulations that prevented this sort of thing from happening. Emphasis on “used to.” Banks were unable to embark on the kind of speculative insanity that has resulted in this crash, just like they are still no longer able to invest in the stock market thanks to the Stock Market Crash of 1929. Thankfully, that’s one aspect of FDR’s New Deal that hasn’t been dismantled yet. However, these regulations have been recently recently;y removed.

Part of the blame does rest upon individuals, for taking out these loans. Even more blame rests in the banks, who were the ones giving out the loans in a speculative frenzy, but ultimately blame rests in the government, who destroyed the very policies that would have protected the American people from this disaster.
That, friend, is why your assertion the government was not to blames was so laughable.
And yes, I have heard Obama talk without prompting. It may not as impressive as his other speeches, but at least he can answer simple questions regarding policy without descending into utter gibberish.

                  • Aggiefitz says:

In 2006, Republican Congressmen attempted to introduce legislation that would reign in May and Mac. However, it was blocked by the democrats under the pretense “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it”
The housing act introduced by Jimmy Carter and the policies of the Clinton administration forced banks to lower loan requirements.

And since when is it the governments fault if people don’t know what they can afford?

            • Aggiefitz says:

              Typical.
Brainwashed Obama supporter: “OMG BUSH SCREWED US OVER!!! GO OBAMA!!!!”
Reasonable, rational person: “Well what exactly did Bush do? He wasn’t great, but he wasn’t the worst ever? How did he singlehandedly cause this mess?”
Brainwashed Obama supporter: “HE JUST DID, I DON”T HAVE THE SPACE TO TELL YOU!!”
Reasonable, rational person: “Not even one example backed up by facts”
Brainwashed Obama supporter: “Not one, but I don’t need one, because he JUST DID!! ACCEPT IT!!!!!!!!!one11!!
              Rational Reasonable person: *facepalm*

        • iggy says:

Do you want a president who IS an average Joe, or a president who understands one?

      • V Gard says:

Exactly. There is no proof Sara Palin is stupid, only the word of Liberals who obviosly want her to be. If I were the Dems I’d be scared that she would run in 2012 because so many Conservatives like her and she would actually give people a reason to vote for her, unlike Mccain.

        • the_original_shortright says:

please, PLEASE, tell me you’re joking?

        • Teh_Juggernaut says:

I have SEVERAL family members who have been conservative Republicans their entire lives who voted for Obama on the sole reason that Palin “scared the bajeesus out of them” (their words, not mine). Sure, Palin has garnered the support of the far right, who happen to be the most vocal of the right, so the appearance of support for her is inflated. In reality, McCain’s landslide loss was due in large part to the fact that Sarah Palin was on his ticket. Had he chosen his VP more wisely, he may have actually won.

        • Pheemz says:

You mean other than all the interviews she did where she made herself look a complete idiot?

Sure, you can ignore those and claim there’s no evidence she’s stupid. But, would you dare try to argue there’s evidence she’s intelligent?

        • forge says:

Careful, some of us lefties like the Zombie Jew.

          • Viking says:

Ye’d never know that by listening to anyone on the Left….

          • forge says:

I know, I don’t get it; apparently Righties are so programmed to think in lockstep and NEVER THINK FOR THEMSELVES NO MATTER WHAT, that they don’t realize that thinking for oneself is pretty much the reason liberals are liberals. I think it’s really sad because I respect some portions of Conservative thought – just not that damned empty-eyed marching proletariat thing.

            • Aggiefitz says:

Thinking for oneself now means latching on to what Obama told you to think? Yah that’s some great mental independence.

              • dearie me says:

if obama’s policies coincide with what i think policy should i be, should i change what i think policy should be based on the fact that someone agrees with me? stop being ridiculous.

                • Aggiefitz says:

But does the fact that I disagree with someone mean I have been brainwashed by someone else? That is what this twit is saying. I’m just turning his little game against him

                  • forge says:

The conversation was not about you disagreeing with anyone; it was about someone characterizing Liberals as being brainwashed androids who think what they’re told to think by Lord Obama. This is not the case; you know it and I know it, so please let’s dispense with that line of argument henceforth. Mmkay?

                    • Aggiefitz says:

“Righties are so programmed to think in lockstep and NEVER THINK FOR THEMSELVES NO MATTER WHAT, that they don’t realize that thinking for oneself is pretty much the reason liberals are liberals. I think it’s really sad because I respect some portions of Conservative thought – just not that damned empty-eyed marching proletariat thing.”

You can remember what you wrote right? In case you can’t (and judging by your response you don’t) That statement above is you saying that all Republicans are simply programmed to disagree with the opposition

                    • forge says:

Try to keep up, Aggie; that was me trying to figure out exactly why it is that righties on blogs can’t seem to see that liberals don’t all think alike. Or are you also pejorative-impaired?

                    • Aggiefitz says:

Good god, there is no dealing with someone so thick skulled.
I notice that you responded to all of my posts except the one where I asked for a source, something that backs up your claim about Bush purposely trying to destroy the country. Again, I do not deny Bush screwed up, but I ask that you actually demonstrate some knowledge on the subject instead of simply repeating talking points from MSNBC that are devoid of fact.
Regarding the economy: How is Bush responsible for Clinton forcing banks to give loans to under-qualified, and others simply taking out loans they couldn’t afford to pay back, causing the banks to collapse?
Planned Parenthood: A provision of the FOCA (I know it hasn’t been reintroduced yet, but it probably will be) was that “family planning centers” would receive public funding for “pro-choice” programs. Basically Obama promised Planned Parenthood money for their abortion clinics.

                    • chris says:

There is pro-life. And there is pro-choice.

I have never seen, or heard, or read about
                      pro-abortion.

                    • Sarah says:

                      Thank you Chris!!!
I am so sick of people think that pro-choice is synonymous with pro-abortion, which is certainly NOT the case. I have a 1 year old and a 2 year old, and I am pro-choice. When people hear that, their jaws drop, and they’re like “you’re pro-choice but you have kids!?” Yes, dumbasses. I am pro-CHOICE, therefore it was my CHOICE to not have an abortion and to have my babies. I had no legitimate need or reason for an abortion, however, if there were one (say, my pregnancy was a product of rape, or being pregnant would cause so many medical problems that it would kill me), I am comforted with the knowledge that the CHOICE would be available to me if I were to need it.

      • Nulono says:

Of ALASKA. All you need in Alaska is to please like 4 people. I’d be willing to bet Sarah Palin is 75% the population to start with.

        • shin0bi272 says:

the population of alaska is over 600,000 people. Thats not too much less than north or south dakota, washington DC, delaware, vermont or wyoming.

          • forge says:

Over an area 80% the size of Europe.

          • Winter says:

Alaska also has a reputation for being ridiculously conservative. That’s why she’s governor.

            • Lark88 says:

oh, i get it, so being conservative=being stupid. That’s a real fair-minded way to put it.

            • Michael Caliban says:

I’d rather be “rediculously conservative” than rediculously liberal. You have your corner of the world, wehy can’t I have mine? Oh yeah, liberals belive conservatives need to be wiped out. I forgot. You are offended by the very existence of people who belive in personal responsiblity, and not having one’s cake and eating it too. Life is a little more harsh in places like Alaska, and they don’t have the luxury of pandering to wingnuts like leftie loones. Go ahead, destroy the economy, and see what happens. You now have to power to show us all what you are made of, and if, (I stress IF) the country survives Obamanationalism, liberals may never regain the white house again. So go for it. PLEASE!

      • forge says:

Satire doesn’t work in a vacuum Lark. What they’re making fun of has to come from somewhere; do you think they’re portraying her as dumb just because they hate her?

Don’t answer that, you probably do think Fey and Stewart hate her. I don’t, and I don’t think people should – she just has no place in government. I’m sure she’s a perfectly nice woman, but governor? Senator? President? Give me a break.

      • Foofy Nu Nu says:

Um….You do realize that anyone with a powerful team of associates can pull that, correct? I never relied on SNL and the Daily Show to measure the caliber of her stupidity. I listened to the reject run her mouth during the debates. I’ve seen videos of her as well. Unlike a larger state, there probably isn’t that much to noticeably screw up in Alaska. Who knows what she’s swept under the rug.

But then again, since it’s a big old red state, it’s more or less a game of follow the leader. But only if that leader is a Republican.

      • Kate says:

Lark, saying she has a 75% approval rating doesn’t mean anything. Look at Alaska’s demographic. It’s abotu as diverse as a klan meeting. that’s like getting the pope’s approval rating from a convent.

      • ????? says:

        You Betcha!(sic)

    • shin0bi272 says:

all you liberals say that. there were plenty of people in hollywood who said that in 2000 and when bush won they didnt move anywhere. So stop threatening to do something and do it.

      • shin0bi272 says:

oops actually my bad… wyoming is less than 600,000 and vermont has 621,000 while alaska has 655,000

        • Sir_Scarfalot says:

And there are 19 mere cities with more population than that. Look, Palin has a far, far smaller constituency than most senators and even representatives. And representatives don’t have wild-arsed dreams about the white house until they go up the ranks more.

Oh, and for goodness sakes, CAN PEOPLE JUST SHUT UP? this lol (which not too many have lol’ed at) has gotten more comments than any other on GJ, and most are just idiotic.

Okay, i’m leaving this mudfest. Bye bye! :)

          • forge says:

Further we need to know the percentage of Alaskans that actually voted. What is the usual poll turnout in the US, like, 15 or 20 percent of those eligible to vote?

      • Foofy Nu Nu says:

Hooray. More liberal usage. But hey kiddo, it’s your time to bitch and cry as it was the Dems time back in the day. Of course it’s all talk. So that’s why it’s awfully laughable (even when you get the racists involved) when all this anti-Dem stuff comes up.

        HAR HAR HAR.

      • ????? says:

technically, Gore won the popular vote, but because of mess-ups in California, There was a Supreme Court ruling.

  6. beerdrinker says:

So it looks like Sarah, 8 Republicans and 91 Democrats want her to run… This ought to be an interesting primary fight…

    • Scott says:

I’m glad somebody else got that part of the joke. I was worried that with all of the fighting people were going to miss that the poll purportedly reflects the opinions of the 100 people who want her to run.

  7. Empyrean Goddess says:

    Haha.
    This is so true….

    She just better not win.

  8. Elly says:

Took me a second to get it… Unless Obama totally effs things up, there’s little chance Palin could beat him for reelection.

    • Scot Z says:

      So she’s a shoo-in for ‘12. ;)

    • Sir_Scarfalot says:

pretty much, yep. But the idjit Righties will be ultimately split over Palin and whoever else decides to run, while us Lefties are united for Obama! hopefully. With some luck and a bit of thought Mrs. Clinton will decide she is happy with her Secretary of State job and support Obama, which will help, prolly.

    • Grumpy Curmudgeon says:

I’m sure you have a point in there somewhere. But I just don’t give a fuck

    • Dex says:

You really should link your facts, she isn’t the “Commander in Chief” of the 49th Missile Defense since the Title “Commander in Chief” is held only by the President for the entire military. Also the range of Patriot Missiles are the OFFICIAL Ballistic and Cruise missile interceptor does not have the range to protect most of the Continental United States. The Continental United states is protected by mobile and stationary batteries located in key locations such as Langley Air Force Base. The 49th Missile Defense covers the state of Alaska and an extreme range protection of Washington and Oregon. Research you topics better before making a point friend.

    • RJ says:

This is a nice string of facts that do not show how smart or qualified someone is. Good fact list except for some little naming errors. As we have seen before, some idiot can hold a job with great responsibility and be briefed on many things. Just like other sheep, you spit facts with no point.

  21. Thos Weatherby says:

I just love all the liberals who think Palin was dumb. Who claimed there were 57 states? Who said we needed to send 10,000 Arabic translators into Afghanistan, when they don’t even speak Arabic. Who said, Our nation honors its unbroken line of fallen heroes — and I see many of them in the audience here today. Who bragged about passing a law regulating the nuclear industry that it turned out never became a law at all. (that’s called a lie) Who said Venezuela’s dictator Hugo Chavez should suffer “regional isolation” — but then on others he’d say he supported the president’s meeting with Chavez. Who told one audience about recent tornados in Kansas that had killed 10,000 people. In fact, a dozen people were killed in the tornados.

The point is, she has a lot more intelligence than Obama, who said all of these things.

    • Nerdette says:

Good thing she has the degrees to show it! Not to mention her amazing debating skills! And we all know how apt she is at thinking on her feet!

Everyone slips up in speech – get over it.

    • Winter says:

I’m tired of the 57 state thing being taken out of context. You probably found the clip of him saying it, right? Go find the rest of the interview. After saying it, he immediately corrected himself and said the right number.

Palin, on the other hand, after saying something ridiculous, adopted the policy of saying something even more ridiculous so that people would forget the first thing.

    • Foofy Nu Nu says:

I just love how people keep using the word “liberals”. Liberal media. Liberal radio. Liberals liberals liberals. What makes it even better is that snarl-type facial expression that most people do when they say it. I think that every time someone who is against the libs says it, we should all scream like it’s Peewee’s Playhouse.

      Try it.

      Liberals.

      AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

    • Michael Caliban says:

Perhaps you should quote Willie Wonka: “Strike that, reverse it.”

  22. baba says:

I wouldn’t be so smug. She has four years to train and be trained, to figure out what magazines to read, how to talk and how to debate, how to interview and how to deflect, how to read the party line and still sound independent.

    • forge says:

Never try to teach a pig to sing; it wastes your time and annoys the pig.

      • Lark88 says:

*facepalm* You had to go there…

        • Lark88 says:

*calls feminist hotline* “Hello? Some one called Sarah Palin a p-” *Click*
*sniff sniff* “Something smells like hypocrisy…”

          • chris says:

He wasn’t calling her a pig. its one of those analogies/comparisons/
whatever. kind of like “you can lead a horse to water…”

Ahhh dammit i just called Sarah Palin a horse :(

            • Lark88 says:

yeah, I realize that. I’m just having a little fun. I know political debates/arguments over the internet is usless, cuz there’s no way you can convince anybody to see your point of view, but IT’S SO FUN! :D

  23. J says:

Palin for president….umm no thank you. I don’t think I could take another primary with her in it. Her voice makes me want to cut out my eyes with a melon baller. I don’t think she was incredibly stupid, but more of overwhelmed at the whole deal. It’s like she locks up during interviews. But she still wasn’t the brightest crayon in the box either.

If she does win the Rep primary, it’s an easy win for the Dems. Now if the Reps get Bobby Jindal, It’ll be a tough race.

  24. Aggiefitz says:

How can you preach coming together and stop being divisive when you’re entire rant was about how stupid Republicans are?

    • Foofy Nu Nu says:

How can I? Because it’s the American way.

And PLEASE PLEASE realize it’s “your” and not “you’re”. =D

If you actually took the time to read what I said, you’d realize they were all
a set of options. So therfore it’s one or the other. And how is what I’ve said
any different from the drivel that both Dems and Repubs spew on a daily
basis? There will never be a perfected harmony amongst the two parties.
And I actually said nothing about them being stupid but thank you
for assuming I did. I said there’s two kinds of Republicans that I’ve had
      the pleasure of being around.

      • Aggiefitz says:

“It’s hard to take Republicans seriously because it’s the same crap. Whether it’s the esteemed man, the backwoods yokel, or the Middle America clone who decides to go for “what’s popular”. MY GOD are you lot hilarious.”

I don’t see any mention of two different kinds of republicans in that, Nice try though. “what’s popular” is NOT republicans because the majority of people are stupid and will believe what their favorite actor or singer tells them to believe.

        • forge says:

Obama got elected because some actor or singer told people to vote for him?

Wow, you got some super-special brain there. Ought to be in a museum, that brain.

  25. Wolvie says:

With the way your Socialist loser is running the country it won’t matter who runs.

    • Foofy Nu Nu says:

Jesus Christ. Again with the throwing around of that word. Look, princess, the socialist party has already said Obama isn’t anything CLOSE to being one. So quit being a parrot of the rest of the morons using that word incorrectly.

    • Scott says:

In Alaska they don’t have an income tax or sales tax because of oil revenue. The companies that drill rent the property from the state and then the rent money gets distributed to the people. Gov. Palin explained it as the Alaskan people own the land and share the wealth.
Public ownership of capital and redistribution of wealth.

  26. the_atheist says:

I wouldn’t mind letting her run just to laugh at her and watch her lose epically

  29. Freek says:

It’s funny to see such a lively discussion between American sub-groups, if you’re not from the States yourself. I’m from the Netherlands and would just like to say that I love your discussions about left and right, because in my opinion (And in those of about 80% of the Dutch population) both parties would be (extremely) right-winged. In the Netherlands, we don’t even have a party that is as right-winged as the Republicans.

The point I would like to make though is that the most successful countries (economically speaking) are those with extensive social programs, most “government meddling” and most nationalizing. The current crisis, created by a lack of supervision, is least noticeable in countries as Sweden and Switzerland, who have given the government more influence.

  30. Cat says:

That makes more sense than you.

  31. ajlljkhu says:

    damn, its a pie chart

  32. jonathan says:

Yeah it won’t matter who runs for Republicans. The gay ass liberal media and the idiot socialists won’t let Nobama lose. Even after he nationalizes our health care system, the banks, and allows Iran to bomb Israel you morons will be voting for him because you want to feel part of something so bad that you become blind followers…that and because you are afraid of black men. So sad. So…he was elected to fix our economy and instill confidence/trust and end the political machine as we knew it. How’s he doing folks. The bailout is a joke, his budget is laughable, he will preside over the largest deficit in history…he is raising taxes during a recession, Iran can now build a bomb…and his appointments have been disasters/tax evaders. All in one month’s time. Hope you are happy sheep! LMao

  33. Michael says:

  34. Sarah Palin Licks Nuts says:

I can’t believe anyone would want Sarah Palin as our president. She and her daughters are whores.. The only thing she’s good for is making babies, like a cow. You have to be mentally ill to like her..or a middle aged woman.. Same thing

    • NotThisMiddleAgedWoman says:

hey asswipe, I’m a middle aged women and I can’t stand Sarah Palin. You’re the one who’s mentally ill.

  35. sue katz says:

If Sarah Palin runs against Obama, it would certainly be a study in contrasts. And might be good for the sales of my book “Thanks but No Thanks: The Voters Guide to Sarah Palin.” So add me into that sliver.

  36. Abe Lincoln says:

    tina fey for prez.
or anyone who’s not one of these commie republicans whose ideology has been wrecking the US for the last 3 decades

  37. Giuseppe says:

I live in Denmark where we “pay for our poor people” and the welfare is better than you could ever imagine, there’s noone sick and dying in the streets in our country you can get pretty much get aid for everything. Everyone has medical insurance as a standard so even a bum on the street can walk into a hospital with his social security card and get his nose fixed or whatever.
Because of this we have very few bums because not many people need to be bums since they can always get help getting on their feet, of course some people are bitter about that but i say they are selfish bastards to be honest, the fact is that we have hardly any bums and when we do they are happy, strange characters usually mood spredders. I know this sounds unrealistic but it is a fact, I make above average salary and I pay about 39% of my salary each month in taxes, which I don’t mind at all because I know I’m paying for the society around me and services like medical care etc.
If you had any wisdom in your hearts at all you would let Obama survive another period and give him time to make the necessary changes to your society, because I predict it will take quite a while to change the mess that has been made so far.

  38. Giuseppe says:

This is called a discussion, people with half a brain do it about relevant topics.
