They should be in the NFL. After all, they’re paid very nicely to play at an amateur level of a sport. Along with Oklahoma, Nebraska, Miami (FL), and several other “top rank” colleges. Maybe some of them can replace the Detroit Lions and the Cleveland Browns?

I don’t think you need to be from the NYC area to get the humor behind it. Pop culture regularly references the Yankees/Red Sox rivalry, and that doesn’t entail a much larger demographic.

You know with the invention of the Television this demographic doesn’t have to be contained in the NY/NJ metro area. I happen to be an Indianapolis Colts fan and I live in SC. My Daughter is also in SC and love the Floirida Gators and the New York Yankees. Go Figure!

You have to go out to Long Island. Then, you’ll find a long sad line of very loyal Jets fans.
Considering that NEITHER of them is in NY, and I have to pay for their crappy stadium while they continue to pretend to be NY teams, I don’t find this at all funny. GRRRRRRRRRR.
