At least it doesn’t have to do with his Brother’s friends preferences vs his own.

  2. Deer Hunter says:

    Forgot deer.

I had a nice little meeting between a deer and the front end of my Escort last evening.

  3. Joseph says:

Sounds about right for Alaska after the first few snowfalls.

  4. Paperclippe says:

Except in Pittsburgh, when the reverse is true – people going twenty under the speed limit because it’s a little chilly and it’s just begun to rain.

Those people get rear-ended out of spite.

Unfortunately, those people make up 45% of the driving population in Pittsburgh.

    • SGK says:

This is still better than Virginia drivers who decide that if it is ever drizzling they must drive 10 under the speed limit.

      • The L says:

Or Florida drivers who decide that a light drizzle means you must drive 10 mph.

Even though it rains EVERY SINGLE DAY from April to October…

Also, OP, there is no E in “truly.”

    • slythwolf says:

I was going to say, in Michigan there are people who go ten miles an hour because there’s a quarter inch of snow on the ground. Although my theory is that those are the out-of-state freshmen; I live in a college town.

    • Doug says:

Yea, dealing with people doing 30 on the interstate is a real pain in the ass.

  5. Burphel says:

Don’t forget the people who think 4 wheel drive means 4 wheel stop.

  6. anna says:

what about morons who don’t know how to spell ‘truly’?

  7. You forgot Stupid Pedestrians Hiding Behind Snow Banks.

  8. cvk says:

    Spelling fail

  9. lulubelle says:

As a resident of Buffalo, NY, I can attest to the accuracy of this chart :)

    • SGK says:

Well Buffalo has snow ontop of snow ontop of ice, so not knowing there is ice is sort of understandable.

This versus Virginia where snow is a word most don’t really know, so all we have is ice and it’s CLEAR TO SEE. GEE WHAT’S THAT SHINY STUFF ON THE ROAD? LET’S SPEED UP AND GO FIND OUT. That’s Virginia.

In Buffalo they just have the New Yorkers who are like “EH SNOW WOOPEE. Let me continue to drive 70.”
I’ve lived in both areas so I know quite well both insanities.

  10. paranoid says:

Don’t forget the people who get mad at others going fast just b/c of their own incompetent driving skills. (i.e. you… probably… maybe… I don’t know)

    • SGK says:

I don’t get mad at people going fast, but I do get mad at the people clearly wanting to go fast because they are trying to rear-end me and I’m in the slow lane!

  11. ascataloflorien says:

truth in advertising this one, I live In North central Minnesota and i can testify to the truthfulness of this chart

  12. asdf says:

Truly there is truly no truly proper way to truly spell “truely.”

  13. Fake E. Tufte says:

Every 4WD driver knows that 4WD helps you move in the snow.
Not every 4WD driver knows that 4WD does not help you brake or steer on ice.

  14. Kinoko says:

What about the people that go from average substandard driving skills to ridiculously unfathomable driving skills the millisecond one snowflake hits the ground?

They cause me to toss a lifelike mannequin onto the freeway from an overpass.

  15. dalz says:

just like fire is HOT. remember that, kids.

  16. wralford says:

Yes you have these doofuses with 4WD who don’t realize that their Explorer is not going to corner any better in the snow than a sedan — perhaps worse in fact because of the higher center of gravity.

That’s why 4WD are often over-represented in the ditches at off/on-ramps.

It’s not only those who go too fast who mess things up. Those who go too slow, especially when going uphill also cause problems. Sometimes your traction is not going to get you up that hill as much as momentum will; you need to get a running start.

So if the idiot in front of you on the narrow road gets stuck because he was creeping up that hill, you get stuck too. And backing down a slippery surface is not always possible — or advisable.

That’s why I always carry TWO shovels with me in the winter; one for me and one for the moron who got himself stuck in front of me.

  17. Lambokid says:

I live in Minneapolis, and made this after driving home from school being held up by traffic caused by 5 different crashes. Winter doesn’t make you stupid. It makes your stupid more visible.

If I made any spelling mistakes writing this, kiss my ass.

  18. Lamborghinidude says:

Damnit typedin wrong username. And this message may appear like five times. If so, sorry.

  19. Demon says:

I *love* driving my Subaru legacy on ice/gravel, much easier to get the back end going and also helps hone my skills as a driver, learning what a car does when it looses grip. The problem is more most people don’t know how a car behaves when it looses traction.

  20. bobman192 says:

You forgot to add morons who try to drift!

  21. MacMaex says:

And you forgot the retard that just THINKS the road is slippery and drives super slow so everyone driving a reasonable speed has to break their a** off

    • Gnotobiotic says:

Every freaking year when winter rolls around in October the insanity begins. You’d think people in Alaska would be able to learn to drive in cold weather, but noooooo. There’s always a bunch of idiots who refused to winterize their cars in time (if at all) and everyone else gets to suffer.

  22. Nam goes nom says:

The title of those people are as follows:
    Snowtards.
