It doesn’t snow in florida….
but apparently it snows in vegas, san diego, and malibu. as well as northern NJ – but not southern NJ/philly. wtf.
The author must live in the same town as I.
Truer today and yesterday than it has ever been. It’s not enough that I have to shovel my driveway for an hour, then I have to spend more than an hour hacking up and shoveling the compact deposits of the friendly Rochester plowing services. Aaargh. At least it’s good to know I’m not the only one ….
How fitting southern Ontario just got hit with a huge drop of snow.
And Central New York State
And in Illinois. It actually was warmer in Canada than here a couple days ago.
Then it got warm and rained and melted most of the snow. We had like almost 2 feet.
I have to disagree with the red slice…that would imply the plows actually plowed my street!
I don’t know they do a damn good job in Buffalo, but they do spend a lot of time also wandering around aimlessly.
Well, one took off the side of my mom’s van. Does that count?
I don’t think there are plows in Chicago anymore.
Add a little tiny section for “Misjudging the curb, tearing up my lawn, and then dumping salt on it so nothing grows there”
I am so sorry.
*silently laughs from his 16th floor apartment*
Oh yes! And also a slice for “Taking out my mailbox”.
This is my story every storm. 1 foot of snow and 4 inches of my lawn on top of my banks.
This is very fitting for the Buffalo NY area today.
Took me almost an hour to shovel the hard-packed 4-ft snowplow pile from the back of both of my cars, undercarriage and out to the street. Hurray, it finally worked! *does little victory dance, just in time to watch the snowplow come back through and scoop my flattened-out snow ramp back onto the front of my body and cars*
Agreed! I just drove through a snow storm today (that big New England storm thats been on the news) and even the major roads wernt plowed yet. But I saw tons of trucks plowing empty parking lots or just not plowing at all. So Im wondering….. my tax dollars are paying for these guys to sit around and ignore the real problems?
The guys plowing parking lots are generally people who put a plow on the front of their truck and run their own little Mr. Plow business. They get their monies from the business or building owner of the parking lot they are plowing and don’t get any of your tax dollars.
Plowing a parking lot when it’s empty is the best time to plow it. Otherwise, because all the cars are in the way, the best that can be done is a half-assed job and it takes forever, which people will no doubt bitch about.
Plowing snow also often leaves sleep deprived drivers working through the night. It’s generally not fun, even if you’re getting paid overtime. I don’t know what you’re seeing, but I doubt that too many plowers are “wandering aimlessly.”
I don’t plow myself, but my brother’s done it for years. Perhaps his experience isn’t the same as everyone else’s, but from his perspective, the only thing good about is that he gets paid for it. Hell, I don’t even like being around him when he’s been plowing.
Yeah, yeah, I know, it’s a joke, lighten up. I know how to take a joke. Myself, I teach math for a living. I laughed at the calculus one from a few days ago. But this one is based on thoughtlessness and ignorance.
so do yer own one. waitin’ to see it here.
Snowbro’s brother has worked for over 20 years in the industry!!!
I cleared the whole front part of the driveway of most of the snow and this plow drove by and laid a 3 foot wall down in front it. I was really really angry.
Haha do you live in Ontario? We’re gettin that now!
So I’m guessing whoever created this must come from the Northeastern or Northern areas of the U.S. I know this is how I feel today as I look outside and there is snowy death everywhere at least a foot deep. *sigh* Oh New England!
You forgot “yelling at cautious motorists”!
How about ‘running stop signs, disregarding yield signs, and generally terrorizing the populace’?
So.
True.
this has never been more true than this weekend in the boston area. multiple time while i was out, i saw plows just driving around or just sitting around as the roads got horrendous. i especially like the part where after i shovel out of my driveway and go out to do some errands, when i get home theres another mound of snow in front of my driveway. i just said screw it and drove over it.
THIS TOTALLY HAPPENED TO ME TODAY!
My driveway was fine…then the plow came through and I had to spend 45 minutes getting it back to ‘I think my husband’s car will make it up the driveway if he gets a good running start.’
You forgot “taking out my mailbox, the cherry tree I just planted this fall and the ass end of my car”.
i forwarded this to my buddy who’s a snowplow driver in Tahoe and here’s what he replied:
“dude that’s so wrong. we spend way more time blocking driveways with Three feet of snow YA RIGHT any buffoon can shovel three feet, if you can see me from the other side of the snow berm while yelling @ me I’m not doing my job. and as to the wandering aimlessly that’s just not right, we spend xtra time at taco bell, mcdonalds, beach hut deli, looking for cheap real estate, looking through your windows at night watching your 70″ screen tv (my personal favorite pass time), and as for time spent working, why do you work us so hard we are under paid an only get 16 weeks off per year (including holidays unfortunately)”
someone needs to update the chart with the REAL data! =p
i personally like the peaking in your windows at night comment…snowplow stalkers!
