The difference with math and food is: with food, pies aren’t square.
(Math: pi*r^2)

I think I prefer the tangent (pun!) where we decide the mathematical value of pie.
Pie – Pi = e
Pie = e + Pi
Pie = 5.859874482

Pie = Pi*e = 8.539734223

The overlapping region is far too large on this chart. Pronunciation is approximately half of all that defines pi/pie? I think not.

In the differences section:
Tastiness
Appropriateness for calculating circumferences
Likelihood of containing berries
Locations most frequently found
Number and composition of enthusiasts… the list goes on and on.

There IS a difference in the pronunciation, actually.

Seeing as in the Greek alphabet, “Π” is pronounced not unlike our letter “P”, with the long “E” sound.

It’s just everyone ignores this fact and goes around using the long “I” sound for some bloody reason.

This graph is showing all similarities between pie and pi. The overlap in the middle is the pronunciation, saying the only thing shared by both pie and pi is the pronunciation. Everything else is different about the two. Had the graph been titled “Differences in pronunciation of pie and pi” then you would be correct

You need to look at it as: Pi and Pie share pronunciation, but there are things that they do not have in common, hence the non-overlapping. But, still, could have been made clearer.

Is this really the best that’s being submitted? Pie and Pi are always pronounced the same, so there should be complete overlap on the graph. For it to work they would have needed to choose words with alternate pronunciations.
