How is it that the Jonas Brothers and modern po(o)p stars are really popular, but only half of the people know who Lynyrd Skynyrd (is/are)?
People are obcessed with bands that know basic beats, four chords, and maybe are rich spoiled brats and can hire someone to sing for them.
Check out the guitar solo in free bird! What’s not skilled about that? Music has gone downhill ever since the appearance of Michael Jackson.

Even us people who don’t know the names of any1 in this band (except that their last name is obviously Jonas) can pretty much decipher that their MUST be other people besides these lil kids. If it was just there wouldn’t be any sort of “music” at all (and i use that term loosely) They can’t play guitar worth crap. I saw them live on TV and they weren’t even really playing the guitars! it was lame. And how can you have in-depth, thought out discussions about a bunch of stupid Disney kids? All of the kids that started out disney and stayed in the spotlight all turned out to be whores/anorexics/druggies etc. I’m sure there are a few exceptions but none I can think of anyway… I actually feel kinda sorry for them sometimes. Do they know that they really aren’t very good? My theory is that all the pre-pubescent children are obsessed with them because of the lead singers hair.

I disagree, majority of fans actually do respect Jack, John Taylor, Garbo, and Ryan greatly. Of course, people who aren’t fans usually don’t know the names of people in the band; however, Nick, Joe and Kevin tend to be the exception since they get separate recognition. But I’m guessing you don’t know the names of the people in bands you don’t like. That’s quite some effort to put into something you don’t like.

And Garbo, Jack, John, and Ryan are all part of the Jonas Brothers back up band by choice, since they get little recognition it wouldn’t be that big of a loss by Disney’s viewpoint. Fans, and their friends known as the three Jonas’, probably.

And I agree, Nick’s voice is very nasally, usually. Sometimes it isn’t though. And when he was little, it was adorable. Some say angelic, but that’s a stretch. And even though their songs are very easy on guitar, it doesn’t mean they can’t do better. I’m sure they are all respectably well on the instruments they play, piano, guitar, drums, whatever.

And I’m actually surprised, someone who doesn’t like The Jonas Brothers (this chart maker) actually says they have talent. That is quite rare.

Anyway, anyone who wants to further the discussion about The Jonas Brother’s talent, take it to IMDbJB. They tend to have a very in-depth, thought out explanation about it. There are some very respectable people on there too.

The Monkees are different… They’re from a different, more civilized era… back when this type of band actually worked… Back when kids actually gave a crap about talent since that’s what they were surrounded by… Overall the Monkees weren’t all that talented but they were awesome none the less… Much better than these “bands” nowadays…
