    FIRST W00T w00t w00t w00t!!!!!

  2. Joolz says:

It’s people who, not people that.

  3. jmurockstar says:

right, the obese people want us to accept and accommodate them. the pudgy ones just want to get to a healthier weight.

    • nonnygoats says:

No, the point is that most people who diet are already healthy, sometimes even underweight, but they have such distorted body images, they think they need to be stick figures.

  4. I fit into the second category, but I would hardly classify an attempt to be healthier as “stupid.”

    • Weasel says:

I also beg to argue that stupidity is not part of it. Nonny’s body image bit is also very true. I have to say this is the first graph to make me a little uneasy, seeing as I’ve been in the second category for a while, and I don’t think I’m stupid because of it, just a little misguided by my own mind. I’ll stop there. :P

  5. Zedo Mann says:

    how pudgy?

  6. G-Tron says:

There needs to be a follow-up chart showing the ratio of obesity in America compared to that of the rest of the world… or something along those lines.

    • Molly says:

Agree. Perhaps also one that shows the amount of people on diets these days compared to say… 30-50 years ago (maybe not even that long), and the number of obese people now compared to the same time period…

      • Bob says:

it’s interesting… we’re the fattest country in the world… and yet we also have the worst problems with anorexia and bulimia.

    • Yelp says:

I was looking at a comparison from 1988 and 2007 and it was downright scary.

  7. Leoix says:

well considering I have a little pudge on my stomach doesnt mean im going to completely change my diet… I just started eating more chicken instead of hamburgers and do a little bit of work out to turn the pudge into muscle, that way I can maintain the weight I have and if it does turn to muscle, add a few more pounds, which to me would rock :D

  8. sunset says:

    this is SO not funny.

  9. Shortee says:

I have a beer gut that is not coming off either way so if that makes me obese then I will not stop drinking beer anyways if that makes any sense. I am going to the store to get some beer because this disturbed me. I do think I have a few pounds to lose because when your gut is a hard ball wider than your butt and when you wear a tank top you feel maternal then you know something is not right.

    • Bob says:

      nice grammar there… spelling too.

      • Anomaly says:

His spelling, as far as I can tell, was fine. The main issue’s that he seems to have a grudge against the common comma, and refuses to invite it to his comment. Still, at least he has actual end punctuation… I’ve seen far too many people that don’t. *shudder*

        • bri says:

It is “issue is” not “issue’s”. The issue in that sentence doesn’t own anything so it doesn’t have an apostrophe.

          • Loopy says:

Actually, Anomaly’s use of “issue’s” is correct. He’s/she’s not using it in a possessive way. See how I just used the words he’s and she’s? You use the apostrophe when you want to join the two words, so He is correct becomes He’s correct. Or “It’s a Small World Afterall”. It’s is short for It is, right?

  10. Phaelin says:

Hahah, this graph is pissing so many people off! XD

  11. missmeg426 says:

Wow, this graph is the least funny thing I’ve seen on this site. Way to be offensive and still not at all amusing.

Because making fun of people who want to maintain a healthy weight shows just how clever you are. [/sarcasm].

Oh, and BTW, as a “fat” person who’s doing everything in her power to try to lose the weight through diet AND exercise, let me just issue a giant FUCK YOU to the poster. Fuck you and people like you for making things like this harder than they have to be.

    • lol fatties says:

      lol butthurt

      • missmeg426 says:

*gasp*. Your wit has outdone me. How ever shall I go on after someone on the internet called me “butthurt”?

Seriously, though. You thought that your little comment would accomplish what exactly? And please, be precise, because I’m fascinated by your logic. It is so completely unlike my Earth logic.

    • AlsoWolfman says:

      Please don’t eat me

    • Seriously?!? says:

Wait a second, so what you are telling us is that some random graph on a joke website is making your diet/exercise regiment harder?
      Does Not Compute.

      • Grrr Power says:

If you’re finished with that Compute, can I have it?

      • missmeg426 says:

Wow, you really didn’t read the comment at all, did you? Way to not pay attention.

It’s not just this one graph, it’s an entire attitude in society that is pretty well represented by just how stupid this graph is.

    • biscuit says:

jezz people. some of you take this way too personally. this graph wan’t even aimed to insult “fat” people, just the idiots who diet excessively and don’t know that when you can see your ribs and spine, that they need to stop.

and if looking at graphs is making your dieting harder, then i think you got more problems than you think

yes i know ther are no capitals, i just do this to annoy the grammar nazis

      • Grrr Power says:

The Grammar Nazis were obviously so annoyed, the stole some of your letters too… :o

      • flasky says:

Exactly! This isn’t ABOUT fat people. That’s the whole point. It’s saying that a large portion of people who are on diets aren’t the ones who really need to be. This graph is talking about people who’ve never been called “fat” in their life, have never gone through the societal judgment that comes with being overweight, have not had to suffer the medical consequences of being overweight, yet are dieting because they think they’re “fat.” That shit gets old really fast.

And by the way Missmeg, it’s those people in the second category who are making it harder for you, because they’re constantly lowering the standard of what’s considered “fat.” If it were REALLY about health, then people would take your blood pressure and do a cholesterol test before commenting on your weight. But do they? Fuck no. It’s all about appearance, but they try to pass it off as being about “health” so as not to come off sounding like judgmental snobs.

Never mind studies in the last few years that have shown that being slightly overweight isn’t a big deal as far as cardiac health goes; what’s more important is physical activity and exercise. People who are underweight but live sedentary lifestyles are also at a higher risk of health problems, not just the obese.

  12. Liz says:

I can’t believe how many people are up in arms about this! It’s a graph! It’s intention was to be funny. There’s no need to get up in arms about it. If you don’t like it pass it by.

  13. T. says:

*sing* Denile isn’t only a river in Egypt…

  14. loki says:

I don’t see how this is so offensive…its true at least in my experience. I work with almost all women, and they’re all in decent shape-no runway models but definitely not obese…and they’re all on a diet. I don’t get it.

  15. SickleYield says:

Which is just one more reason why those of us who are actually obese have given up. The only people being successful with the dieting are the ones who had no medical need to do it in the first place – doesn’t look like the rest of us have much chance.

    • T. says:

I’m sorry that it happened. However, those who are successful actually eat a healthy diet, exercise, and stick to it.

  16. Bob says:

The graph is stupid. But mostly cause most people in the US are FAT!! 1/3 of us are obese! (more than 20% overweight!) So not only is the graph dumb, it’s inaccurate.

    • McFatty with fries says:

Where’s it say anything about the US?

And from what I can tell, he’s saying of all the people who diet, most of them are people that don’t need to.
The reason the fat people one is so small is cause fatties are too fat to diet.

  17. r0wr says:

There should be a huge slice for girls who want to achieve the weight of prepubescent girls (around 90 pounds) and will end up with amenorrhea(sp?) because of it.
Like a friend of mine …

  18. haley. says:

why the increase in graphs like this?
i swear almost every one on this page looks exactly the same.

    i mean, sure.
    there’s a pretty solid fact.
    …but am i laughing?
    no. lame.

  19. Davo says:

This graph, brought to you by that hugely fat kid in school that you teased that has only put on weight, and still claims their thin and hawt, and everyone else is a jerk for not thinking it.

  20. Novawolf says:

    Fucking win.

Stupid society-swayed anorexics. Looking at your skeleton in the mirror is not sexy.

    No. It’s not.

    • LOL says:

Looking at your fat ass isn’t either. It’s called “healthy eating and exercise.” Just because you do it, doesn’t mean you’re anorexic.

  21. Charlene says:

You need a third category: “people intimidated by idiot partners into losing weight because the partners think being 10 lbs. underweight is ‘a little pudgy’”. That would be about 75% of the women under 25 I know.

  22. LOL says:

Chances that the person who made this graph has issues with his/her own weight and will do anything to avoid this realization… 100%

  23. strawberryporridge says:

Geez, this is absolutely retarded, this is just a GRAPH, and it humorous, I admit, that I am in the second group, I diet all the time to loose like 5 pounds, but then end up gaining it again.

  24. Mark says:

Everyone who eats or doesn’t eat is on a “diet.” A diet only defines that you eat, whether it’s McDonald’s everyday or an actual healthy array of foods. People are too obsessed with these quick “diets” (which could span from a couple weeks to a couple months) and have to start changing their eating habits (ie life-long eating habits).

  25. iWARDOG says:

    oh man, u forgot wrestlers!

  26. Matt says:

Yes, perfect. Go figure a bunch of the stupid people that think being pudgy is wrong are whining about. They should just shut the **** up. That’s all.
