OpenOffice gets the same way when you’re trying to make outlines, but other than that I don’t have a problem with it..
That’s the first thing I disable after a fresh installation. It’s the worst! I then get rid of that ugly Times New Roman as default font and back to Arial.
M’kay, I see one fatal flaw in this graph. The blue slice is much too large.
You beat me to it. I’ve never had a single autoformat that I wanted to keep.
i agree. microsoft autoformat is one of the reasons i bought a mac for college. it’s intuitive without being pushy
You do know that MS Office does the same thing on a Mac, don’t you?
But Mac has a different word processor.
So do windows and linux. Just because your on windows doesn’t mean you have to use only ms crappy software

I heard a rumor once that software NOT made by Microsoft, allegedly including word processors, might possibly exist. I know, I know, just look at the term “word processor.” It’s got “word” right in it, and everybody’s heard of Microsoft Word. It’s crazy to think non-Microsoft products might be real. I know it’s nuts. But it keeps me going at night. When it’s cold. There might–just might–be a program out there not made by Microsoft.

So true… I’m working on a 20-ish page research proposal, and I’ve spent at least ten minutes of every hour reformatting crap that just “fixes itself” and consequently pisses me off.
The blue section should be A LOT smaller than that.
