And no matter how nice you try to be to those who now stand where you used to, you will find yourself infuriated by them because they’ll snarl and gripe when you ask them for the sauce you paid for or to fix your sandwich because they were too “busy” to do it the way you asked. And you’ll be even more infuriated by noticing that being patient with them has only warranted them ground to belittle you in their minds because you ask they do their job.

Sorry, but while most people who have worked fast food never want to do it again, they can all also agree that, in the end, it really isn’t all that difficult to cover the basics. Hope no customers ruin your day today.

Our store makes about 4 cents for every dollar. Four. We make a few thousand in profit every month. Thats not a whole lot. Food costs, labor, maintenance, promotions. All those things add up. Thats why We have to be conservative with what we give away. condiments are not cheap, a single box of BBQ costs about 25-40$ If we gave out extra stuff to everybody, we’d loose hundreds of hundreds of dollars.

Some of the larger and more popular locations are somewhat void to this however. They make plenty of profit. There just assholes. And the higher ups who run and own these stores are pretty stingy, pompous and are just plain jerks who love money.

I have no complaints where I work, all aside from the people who come to order the food. Just because its a McDonalds, does not by any means make the people working there any less of a person than you are, now, some people are void to this, some people are just awesome customers, but you have most all of them, who make the job so horribly complicated, so dammed tetious, that you loose much faith in humanity….But it just makes me feel all the better knowing that I, the “sad little twerp” behind the counter, is just that much more above you, I cant help but have this huge grin on my face when somebody complains about something as petty as the things they do. I can understand its bothersome to get pickles on our burger when you specifically asked for none, I get that its annoying to get all the way home only to see that you didn’t get any sauce for your nuggets. Heres a simple tip, check your bag before you leave. Accidents happen. The more you go the more chances yo have of getting something messed up, it happens. Deal with it. Dont get angry, dont throw your food at them. Just calmly tell them that the order is not what you wanted, and they will be all the more happy to assist you. You have to understand working in a fast food service comes at the price that its [i]fast food[/i]. Its your peoples own faults for wanting your food in under 20 freeking seconds. People begin to complain that there meals dont get to them in under two minutes when theres a massive line, and both front counter and drive through are packed, you may not order complicated things, but the three guys in front of you, who just ordered 30$ in food did. Its not difficult at all in any way to accidentally grab the wrong sandwich out of the grill when there being spewed out at 6 miles an hour.
The customers just dont understand that we have to keep moving and getting things out as quick as we can, they assume all these things and just assume were stupid, worthless, horrible, will never amount to anything people. It boggles me. We do try to get things right, We do always try to do what we can, but when hundred of people all come in at once (hell even in the off times when its slow) things can get messed up.

Before anyone can ever. EVER, complain about fast food, retail or any such job, work there for at LEAST 6 months. after that, after you see how it works, then you can start complaining. A

So, you only have 5 minutes to catch your train/bus or get to a meeting with your new CEO? Don’t pull in to the coffee shop drive through and order anything with two extras shots, half milk, half soy, one pump of vanilla, two of hazelnut and two of almond, a warmed muffin, then complain that I’M the one making you late as you pay with a credit card.
