I WOULD LOVE TO SAY FURST!
but
yeah, this is true, i was just taking the NYC subway the other day and before i could even take a step inside the train everybody next to me rushed in.LOLOL
no kidding. when did the general public forget about the personal bubble?
If you feel crowded, take your pants off and pee on the floor. They’ll move. Works for me anyway.
Fail at drawing graphs that first of all make sense and that secondly are actual graphs.
You’re a douche. This was funny and true. *knocks you off your high horse*
I said nothing about it not being funny, as it was. I just pointed out that it is not in fact a graph. Go outside and stop using little action asterisks to insult people you SILLY KINGUH!
*douche* *douche*
In all fairness the graph/number part really makes no sense, its basically a picture with numbers on the side for some reason…kind of funny though
*acts like a child*
I think the more concerning problem is the scale of the graph. The x axis is in metres but it seems people are only about 10 (if even that) centimetres in diameter.
Yes, definately not even 10 centimetres, maybe 3, or 4.
There aren’t any numbers on the side, though 0_o Only down the bottom, and that’s clearly the distance in metres from one end or the platform to the other.
I do, however, agree that it isn’t a graph. It’s cute nonetheless, though… so does it really matter?
Win at pointing out lame execution of actually funny graph idea.
Irony fail at high horse comment.
FAIL at spelling my own goddamn stupid-ass moniker right… dammit all to hell.
Win at amusing me.
me too.
Nicely done.
It could be a scattergraph, and the traintracks could be a poorly-drawn overly-wide line of best fit.
It works as a graph if you force it.
I’m usually over there around 6. Sure, it may be a longer walk to the exit, but at least the cars at the extremes usually have seats available.
I don’t think this was intended to be graphy as such. So slagging it off for its accuracy is just silly.
Mostly, because this is epoch win ^^
Agree! It’s a great, unique graph!
concurrancy!
making a diagram out of a graph is clever!
Cheers!
You’re right about the intention. Cheers!
Geological time frame versus word meaning ‘imposing or impressive’… fail
I don’t think this was intended to be graphy as such.
Yeah, that’s why they call the website “Not really a graph as such jam”. Oh, wait…
erm this is an oxymoron i see what your trying to do which is clever but fails on the execution
Um…oxymoron? Where?
Though I feel I must remind Beth to stand behind the yellow line.
and to mind the gap!
I would like to know how this is an oxymoron as well?
People stand at about the same spot because they know which car they need to get on to be closer to the stairs at their destination (or for similar such reasons). And they know where the door on the train is going to be so they can be first to get on.
Probably true in big cities and with subways/monorails etc. This is a big old diesel train and very random – the doors never appear in the same spot twice!
Not that that stops people from cutting in front of you once the doors open anyway.
Nothing I hate more than the idiots who have to cut ahead of everyone else, just to stop three steps inside the car and block everyone else from getting on; even more so when they’re getting off at the next effing stop!
Beth sounds hot.
She must smell very nice
Of course, those blue dots skulking around at 0 pretty shifty looking, and the two up at 6 smell pretty bad, so it’s probably just as well you aren’t too close to them.
Doesn’t happen at my station. Too full. You would have dots all the way up and down the platform. Then when they hear that their train on platform 2 is a minute behind the train coming on platform 4 (both are inbound lines to the city) they all rush up and over to the other platform just to get the train that is barely a minute earlier.
It is even funnier when they station master then tells them that the train for platform 2 is then ahead of the train for platform 4. Most then rush back…
Sometimes I reckon the station guy does it for laughs…
Maybe you should stand somewhere else then?
what the hell is a metres?
Metric System and Queen’s English fail?
I don’t have a queen
Its still proper English, just not American English. Get over yourself.
No
Then continue to live your close-minded life, I don’t really care. But don’t try to be clever and assume anyone else thinks like you.
ok
Hey Anonom,
Stop reinforcing the negative image that we Americans already have EVERYWHERE IN THE WORLD!
I love it when people scream “zomg spelling fail” due to complete ignorance of other variants of the English language.
Anyone need a spare tyre? I’ll meet you at the shopping centre. We can have tea there.
u kno this sucks for color blind people
no it doesn’t because the pink dot will be a different shade of grey to the blue dots
wow…ur kidding right?
Erm, not a graph.
U R attractive!
It may not be a graph but it is a very accurate representation of the situation. This of course goes along with the overweight person who chooses to cram his/herself into the seat right next to you despite having TONS of open seats on the train.
YES! Why is that? Do they think they look less fat if they’re sitting next to someone?
Thats because like 90% of other people you just pick a a spot right next to the entrance to stand..
Perhaps a bit of this fuss and muss could have been avoided if say, the scale for meters, sorry, ‘metres’, had been incorporated as the train track itself. Then, genius!
Can you believe they are trying cram light rail down our throats in Milwaukee WI!!! Milwaukee WI! Like 8 people may ride the dang thing here… in a week! The wind chills are below zero today! Who the heck is gonna wait for a train or walk to a train in Milwaukee!!!
Ok. ok… counting to 10…. taking medication …. and we’re better now.
I stand on the platform to minimize my walking when I get off. Knowing where the stairs/elevator are at your destination station can cut 15-60 seconds off your trip. In the long term, that means I catch a 15-minutes-earlier bus about once a month. Well worth the effort.
Not all that cool. It is GraphJam for a reason.
well arent you mr. popular
omg i’m 38 and i’ve never been on a train
LOL! Obviously this person thinks they are too good for everyone else they could easily move themselves away from the crowd. That is the only thing to actually learn from this graph or finnd funny about it: THe author’s Personal FAIL! @ perception of reality.
