  1. Phaelin says:

    <3 Network Admins – We rule your life.

  2. Doug says:

    That’s great, except you forgot to add “Co-workers who THINK they’re Net Admins”. They would be off the chart.

  3. CyberSkull says:

    That is so
    <connection lost>

  4. Sarah Failing says:

    Arrogant – and proud of it!

  5. Network Admin says:

    Network Admins have to be arrogant…they never get any of the credit when things are working smoothly and all the blame when they are not!

    • salohcin says:

      So true, as a software developer I see it happen to network admins all the time.

      • jmurockstar says:

        agreed. my netmins are great, yet people are always blaming them when things break. (rather than realize that the person complaining reversed 2 octets in the IP they were typing)

    • forge says:

      I almost *never* fail to give laudation to the sysadmins when a problem comes up and they fix it in no time with a seeming near-complete lack of effort. But they’re still surly and uncommunicative, and the first to blame me for forwarding a ticket without doing “proper investigation.” I know the problem when I see it, and it’s the same problem as before, and I couldn’t fix it then either – because they won’t give me access to the things necessary to fix it.

    • Dom says:

      Amazingly annoyingly true. You also should add that after we fix the problem we don’t get credit for it either.

  6. marxz says:

    It’s not arrogance when we know we’re the most important employee…

    Server room key beats boardroom key anyday

  7. fubuki says:

    You get a cookie, solely for specifying Dave in Accounting. Dave…

  8. Boris says:

    Amount paid per hour of actual work…

    Receptionist – ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

    Dave in Accounting – ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

    Your Boss – ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

    You – ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

    The network admin – |||

    Quit your griping. We work so you can play Solitaire.

  9. Mark says:

    IT people have a right to be arrogant… if you had to deal with stupid people who think they know what they’re doing all day, you’d see why.

  10. panda says:

    It would be funnier if the receptionist was a just little more arrogant than the mail guy and Dave.

    I mean, everyone KNOWS IT guys are arrogant.

  11. hameltoe says:

    In my organization, we IA’s are definitely not arrogant. I work with gov’t yuppies who are full of themselves and cannot go a single day without making us feel like sh!t. F*CK DoD PUSS-C’s

  12. John says:

    This is so true – power hungry freaks ha

  13. Jonas says:

    We prefer “Gods of 1’s and 0’s.” We and our fellow admins forgive you this time, though

  14. Matt says:

    I guess it just figures that the two most arrogant co-workers are the same person for me.

  15. Me says:

    Based on the comments, does this mean that 80% of users on this site are network admins?? You sure got a lot of time on your hands….

    • Intyalle says:

      Actually… it probably means that network admins are the ones who *want* to comment the most. Everyone else doesn’t care as much.

      Side note, I love my job ^^ Not a network admin, true, but I do work with the computers, making a website specifically. And I get huge amounts of appreciation – and sugar – from my boss.

      And before you say that’s a pathetic job as some have, note I’m only 15 still :P

  16. BOFH says:

    i not arrogant at all, how could i. IT professionals are threated like the cleaning lady. worse sometimes.

    all you guys and especially the creator of this waste of bytes:
    think of it like this:
    every day, 100s of people yell at you, because 1+1 isn’t 3. not much we can do about it, but yet we’ve got to put up with that kinda nonsene.

    the other thing (that was already mentioned) is that the IT crew could have starved to death from 72h non-stop overtime, noboby would notice until something breaks und myspace is down…

  17. Network User says:

    The problem with network admins is that when they are talking to someone who DOES have a clue about computers / networks, they still treat you like a retard and believe everything you say is a lie.

    One guy the other day removed my network access after suspicious activity had been found on it “all night long”….. my laptop was completely off and I could prove it via the event log. But apparently I was still wrong.

    </3 network admins.

  18. ronnidee says:

    seriously… why is that??!

  19. cT says:

    This isnt always true cause some users are really smart people, but for the most part, people in corporations know jack about computers. So when someone who does needs to explain something to them, or reset their password for the 14th time that year, they freak out and think that person is being arrogant for knowing somethign they dont. But lol at all the admins getting defensive and posting, myself included haha. Seriously tho, no one notices when we do an amazing job – your computer just works the way you expect it to >.>

  20. CompguyG says:

    Alot of my users seem to think that their work computers are their personal ones to install whatever they want. They get pissy when they can’t install because they don’t have admin rights. Also when their computer crashes, and I have to rebuild, I don’t recover the 15 billion songs they downloaded in iTunes. Some admins are just evil. Thinking about starting an Evil Admin club.. who’s in? :)

  21. Krispy Chaos says:

    I agree with the people who say that Net Admins have probably THE most thankless job that nobody even cares about until something breaks. When it does though, the first person blamed regardless is always the Net Admin.

    • Intyalle says:

      All administration have a thankless job. *Any* form of admin is never noticed until something goes wrong.

  22. EstherDG says:

    What’s your username again? Oh right. *clickety-click*

  23. Lachlan says:

    We controlz the flow, we controlz the universe.

  24. david davidson says:

    we know your aaaaaaaaall passwords

  25. The Mighty Admin says:

    We aren’t arrogant, we just hate you.

    Toodles!

  26. syadmin says:

    “I read your email”

    nuf said :)

  27. erebus says:

    That’s SO true. D:

  28. Swissadmin says:

    To err is human. To forgive is simply not my policy.
    -Root

  29. foxofinfinety says:

    I don’t like this I am a system/network admin

  30. Kim says:

    I think Accountant is way too low. And I’m an accountant!
