  1. Schnitzel says:

    Second!

  2. ...... says:

Maybe you’d like to credit Yogi Berra instead.

    • rubes says:

I second the credit being given to Yogi Berra.

    • The Hypno-Toad says:

Having never watched the show, I can’t say for sure, but I have a feeling that Frank Caliendo (of Frank TV) probably hijacked this line in his Madden impression, and maybe that’s where the confusion arose from.
But still, Yogi Berra = one of the greatest quote machines since Mark Twain.

    • manda banda says:

I think the graph creator was just venting about EA Sports Madden football. Madden says about 5 moronic comments over and over and over again. I found this quite funny.

  3. Jude says:

Actually, it was Philadelphia Phillies manager Danny Ozark. “Half this game is 90% mental.”

Wow. A double attribution fail. Impressive.

    • that guy over there says:

actually, it was yogi berra about baseball.
You can observe a lot by watching, idiots.

    • Adam says:

Although it’s not what he meant, it could be argued that he was implying that said game has at least a net 45% based on mental capacity. If he wasn’t aware which attributes made up the other half of the game by percentage, he couldn’t reliably say that each half of the game was comprised of 90% mental activity, only the half of the game he was certain about.

  4. Jude says:

Actually, it was former Philadelphia Phillies manager Danny Ozark who said “Half this game is 90% mental.”

Here we see a double attribution FAIL. Impressive.

It’s things like this why Yogi wrote I Really Didn’t Say Everything I Said.

  5. Best Ever says:

Need a little slice of BOOM in there

  6. lolbukkit says:

Credit given to the wrong person, but still hilarious!

  7. cakeislie says:

    also, 5% “tuff-actin’ Tinactin!”

  8. Doombird says:

60% of the time, it works all the time.

  9. Eric says:

I HAVE HEARD ‘NINETY PERCENT OF FOOTBALL IS HALF MENTAL’ IN MADDEN TOO MANY DAMN TIMES

    THANK YOU

  10. Steve says:

The graph doesn’t match the quote, it seems. It’s quite simple math really.

If 90% of football is 50% mental, that actually means football is 45% mental.

  11. SonicGT says:

    Needs moar Brett Favre.

  12. cj says:

Nobody is talking correct math. They are quoting a video game. You people just need to take it for the humor value and quite analyzing everything to death!

  13. Gratafied says:

Oh dear sweet god! You don’t know how happy this makes me. I’ve been complaining about that quote ever since madden 04.

  14. raychel says:

it’s a Yogi Berra quote talking about baseball:
“ninety percent of this game is mental, the other half is physical”
john madden totally could have said “ninety percent of football is half mental” but it’s an adaptation of yogi berra’s quote
