I don’t get it…
It isn’t that the ans are wrong its just that they are so off the wall sometimes. I’ve had to suffer through class where students argue about crazy hypos that would never happen. The hypo has nothing to do with the relevant material but students will argue that hypo as if thier lives depended on it. After 30 minutes of that you can’t help but laugh because you really want to hit them with your book for wasting your time.
It’s not just law students, it’s all college students in general actually.
Yea I got that part (med school, grad school, law school), but I don’t get the “laughing to yourself about the last person to speak.” Do law students answer wrong all the time or something?
They’re not wrong all the time, but you always have those law school gunners trying to show everyone up but just end up looking like idiots… or just plain idiots who love the sound of their own voice.
Wow – if you don’t get “laughing at the last person who spoke”…you are probably the last person that spoke.
Exactly.
No, law students don’t “answer wrong all the time.” I like to laugh at the brown nosing tool bags who feel like it is their duty to attempt to answer every question. It can be funny whether they answer right or wrong. Cakeislie, you seem like you may be one of those people.
Nah. But probably like med students and others, many law students are obnoxious and think that anything someone else says is probably stupid because they clearly would have said something much more intelligent. It says more about the person laughing than the person talking. (There are gunners, but there are far more obnoxious assholes.)
I have to agree. You put 100 type A people in one room for a couple hours and its bound to be entertaining. We all secretly think we are smarter than everyone else in the room, but its the gunners that open themselves up for ridicule. Its the price you pay for being the most outspoken person there.
Yup, all students.
I guess with Computer Science students at our university the Internet section would be bigger.
So absolutely true.
If you aren’t in law school, you probably won’t get it. The worried about getting called on increases exponentially in law school.
Oh, so very true. The internet probably cost me an A in Torts last year. Being called on isn’t as frightening as a 2L though
Law Professor Activity During Class:
Laughing to Self at Students’ Question – 100%
This is SO TRUE. Although I probably spend a bigger chunk of time laughing at the people who just spoke.
You forgot sleeping.
Graph is niche – but so true!
This graph is only true about half-way through second semester, 1L year. A line graph over time would show the internet line sky-rocketting and the worrying and paying attention lines plummeting with an emerging trend in playing Halo 2.
Needs “Checkin’ out the hottie at 2 o’clock”
oh rofl, this is so true.
one way to avoid answering questions is to take toilet brakes when u think ur gonna get picked next
LOL, that’s what it’s missing – an “unnecessary toilet break” slice… I used to take those all the time
May need a section for “Taking Notes/Frantically IM to get notes from last night’s assignment” or Watching the Person in Front of you shop online.
LOL – I discovered ebay my first year!!!
Reading Midori reminded me of the old saw about law school that is SO true: First year they scare you to death, second year they work you to death, third year they bore you to death!
What about “trying to figure out how to use the word ’sassy’ in their next answer”?
the blue part is too big, still.
worried about getting called on, SO TRUE!!!
This is appropriate for 1Ls.
For 2Ls, the entire chart is red.
They forgot to put one for selling of soul and betraying humanity. Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law.
