i realize this conversation was a while ago, however, first of all- cats are awesome. you don’t know till you own one. second of all, yeah, i’m afraid you can’t pick on the lolcats grammar when you can’t spell grammar or ridiculous. my guess is that you won’t make it in this day and age.

Yeah, for those without cats, that is pretty much the only reason to own a laser pen. May cats go ballistic when they SEE me pick up the laser pen. I then make them chase it until they fall over panting. Best cat toy ever.
That trick works on dogs too. ^^
Not always, though! Neither of my dogs chases the dot, but my cats go nuts for it.

Definitely depends on the dog… My cats are interested. The dog, however, goes insane when he sees us pick up the laser. Or a pen. Or the flashlight. He willill knock things off the coffee table and jump on them repeatedly, hoping that it’s actually the laser.

Cats can be quite hilarious. I think it’s odd that cats prefer to play with things that are not designed as cat toys, or even things that are not designed to be toys period.

I think I got my laser pointer to play with my cat. She hates me for it now though because she knows I’m just messing with her.
Be careful. Overstimulating your cat with the laser pointer can seriously screw them up. Just do a little at a time. It’s lot of fun, but seriously, you can screw up your cat.
