  1. Kolera says:

First! My first first! Actually, this is my first comment ever, so it is only fitting it should be a first.

  2. anon says:

This would be funny if only it did not mean that democracy is dead

    • Cantspeel says:

It would be funny if you still thought democracy exists

      • plastic arbiter says:

It would be really funny if you believe that the United States is now or was ever a democracy.

        *HINT* Go look up “republic”

        • badcat says:

Election results are far too important to leave up to a bunch of voters.

        • RS says:

It’s funny you can’t distinguish the expression “democracy” from “a democracy.”

        • LB says:

If it helps, I never believed the USA was a democratic country.

          • ThisIsntMe says:

If it helps, I never believed democracy had anything to do with electing officials in a republic.

            • StarBaby says:

If it helps, voting machines have nothing to do with election results.

              • Ham says:

If it helps, having no paper trail and an easily hijackable data stream in the hands of a company that has an enormous bias towards one candidate has everything to do with election “results”.

              • Ham says:

If it helps, having no paper trail and an easily hijacked data stream in the hands of a company that has an enormous bias towards one candidate has everything to do with election “results”.

                • Mikka says:

Double Troll ! (smack smack smack !”)

                • >_> says:

If it helps, I’m a computer science major and it is incredibly easy to make voting machines reliable and maintain the secrecy of voting. Also, it would probably mean the end of democrats in office, but only because you would actually have to be a citizen to vote, you could only vote once, and you would be unable to stuff the ballot box. Sorry.

                  • Jingles says:

Shouldn’t you give up on that degree and go straight to working for Fox News?

                  • michael says:

Er yeah, and I am a software engineer and I can say it is equally easy to make a voting machine do whatever the hell you want it to. The point is if there’s no paper trail no one has anyway of checking. And yeah, go get that job as an “analyst” at Fox.

                  • jack friday says:

                    ummm, I’m a hippie…

                    wait, why am I here?

        • lololollllllllololololoolloolollol says:

          Yup. -sigh-

        • We have heard that canard since 2000, and it is a clever micromanagement of facts. Yes, we are a republic, but that does not mean people do not get any vote whatsoever. The current Constitution as amended mandates that each registered voter gets one vote for the electors in his or her state for a particular candidate. Though the Constitution does not mandate that elector then vote for that candidate, such a defection has only rarely happened.

Additionally, a republic in which its people regularly vote is considered by definition a democratic republic. While you throw out snarky little *HINTS*, here’s one for you: go read a history book.

  3. Maqrilee says:

Such lies and crap. Hope ya get laid. And take the consequence.

  4. Evertide says:

…I don’t know what everyone else is so bitter about. I laughed.

  5. Ben says:

Well, this is probably for the better. At least we’ll get a democrat instead of a socialist.

  6. Me says:

Yeah, because all the recent cases of voter-fraud are linked to McCain…

    • mark says:

There were recent cases of voter fraud? When was that?

Voting hasn’t happened yet (not counting early/mail-in votes), therefore there cannot have been any voter fraud. Voter REGISTRATION fraud has occurred, but the two things are very different despite sounding similar.

      • Mikka says:

He means voter fraud was linked to Obama- 82% of voters registered by ACORN have been found to be fradulent and 100% of those were Democratic voters. Obama gave a LOt of money to ACORN. Therefore, the unfunny LOL here to take pressure off of Obama !

        • kuribo says:

and what the other guy is saying is that yes, ACORN committed Voter Registration Fraud, but that there hasn’t been any Voter Fraud. There’s a difference:

Voter Registration Fraud: LOL I just registered Mickey Mouse, haha
Voter Fraud: LOL I’m going to vote as Mickey Mouse haha

        • jules says:

They are required to turn in all registration forms, even if they are obviously fraudulent. It doesn’t mean they’ll actually get through, especially since you need a valid ID to vote. Obama didn’t have anything to do with that, it was probably just a bunch of idiots who thought it would be funny and they were wrong. Oh, and McCain was an Acorn supporter, he was a keynote speaker at a rally back in 2006.

          • KaylaKaze says:

Actually, what happened was ACORN hired people to go out and register voters. The employees had a set quota of registrations they needed to get. Being that it’s much easier to just make up registration forms than actually register people, these employees did just that. It is illegal for any registrar, including ACORN, to destroy any registration application so ACORN had to turn in even the obviously fraudulent ones, where it was then the job of the elections board to weed out the fakes. To make their job easier, ACORN even separated out the registration forms they felt were likely fake when and informed the elections board so they they would be better prepared for dealing with them. ACORN was the victim of employees taking money for inadequate work. Appropriate legal actions against these employees has been taken.

            • Mike says:

I’m having trouble fact-checking this comment. I’m not trying to claim it’s valid or fraudulent, I’d just like to see the proof. Do you have a link to a news story or something similar?

              • ryszard says:

Mike–Google “ACORN voter registration fraud”. You’ll find everything you’re looking for.

Jules–Re: “Obama didn’t have anything to do with that . . .”: He was their freakin’ lawyer in Chicago, and steered nearly a million dollars to them while serving on the foundation board with Bill Ayers. ACORN committed the “largest case of voter fraud in the State of Washington in 2006″, and is currently under investigation in 15 states for same.

But McCain spoke at one of their functions, making him a supporter. Right. Obama spoke in Germany once, so I guess that makes him a Nazi sympathizer?

                • ryszard says:

Correction: that should read “voter REGISTRATION fraud”.

Kayla and Jules–and AFTER fraudulently registering homeless and mentally-ill “voters” in Ohio and elsewhere, ACORN transported them to the polls, thereby facilitating voter FRAUD. ACORN were also responsible for moving some of their “activists” into New York and Ohio (at least), renting a house, registering and then FRAUDULENTLY voting as “residents”.

In Illinois, a state representative had passed a measure allowing homeless to register using a park bench as their “home address” so they could vote–without establishing true residency or other requirements (age, criminal status, etc.).

                  • IvanTheMildlyAnnoying says:

“AFTER fraudulently registering homeless and mentally-ill “voters” in Ohio and elsewhere, ACORN transported them to the polls, thereby facilitating voter FRAUD.”

So…the fact that Michigan voters are LEGALLY allowed to list park benches as their address, thus allowing them AS A CITIZEN to vote…that’s fraud?

And if being mentally ill precludes one from voting, why does it not preclude one from RUNNING FOR OFFICE?

                • Winter says:

I have no party affiliations, but I see several logical fallacies in this post but need to be addressed.

That would have been a valid argument, had the Nazi’s been in power at the time that Obama gave his speech. The Nazi’s are long dead, last time I checked, while ACORN is still relevant.

In addition, you’ve created a double standard. In your reasoning, we can’t blame McCain for speaking at an ACORN function, and openly expressing his supporting their work while doing so, but we can blame Obama for his support of ACORN. If you intend to sway others in the field of politics, I recommend avoiding such hypocrisy.

              • ryszard says:

What Kayla says is true, as far as it goes. Read my comments above for some of the rest of the story.

            • jules says:

              Ok, thanks for clarifying!

            • Danyell says:

No fair! You clearly did research and read things! You have a bias over those of us that take rumors at face value and believe everything on 24 hour news networks!

  7. David says:

Would be funny if you did any research on Diebold’s voting machines. It doesn’t matter what their preference is, they’re so easy to hack that it’s more a matter of the preference of the nearest community college student in a second-level Computer Science class.

    • thewave says:

lets be honest, there needs to be a 3rd and 4th bar, both full blue, labeled “media” and “acorn” :P

      • Mikka says:

        AMEN!!!!

      • whatsinaname says:

I’m glad I read the posts before I put in my two cents. This is almost exactly what I was going to say.

      • Winter says:

Not entirely true. Much of the media as we have come to know it is owned and controlled by corporations. Corporations have a significant stake in the success of the Republican party, due to repeated legislation the party has made in their benefit. Because of this bias and the ease in which said corporations are able to control what reaches the viewer, your “media” bar would be significantly, if not mostly, red.

        • johnny sane says:

FOX News comes to mind. They’re part of the “media,” last I checked. And they’re very obviously biased toward the red.

  8. jordin says:

Don’t worry, Acorn will steal it back.

  9. Pay attention says:

A group of Obama supporters bussed homeless people from district to district and had them register and vote for Obama in each one.

And voting HAS started. It is called EARLY VOTING!!!

    • Winter says:

I find it difficult to believe such hearsay just on your word, especially in a campaign where so many falsehoods and rumors are flying around. If you can provide specific, reliable evidence for this claim I would be more than willing to believe it.

Part of my doubt also comes from the fact that voting requires some sort of identification and indication of age, something I highly doubt the homeless people would have. This will also need to be addressed to earn my belief.

  10. Pay more attention says:

After that the homeless were drained of their blood. Obama requires blood for his satanic double secret-muslim ceremonies. These ceremonies will allow him to generate powerful ancient “magicks” that will create the necessary millions of fake IDs, government screened and issued registration cards, and people all willing to be charged with a felony when they’re easily caught. The “One”’s previous dark rituals have conjured hundreds of thousands of fake supporters in several red states and changed math itself so the same polls that once said Bush and McCain were popular now say he has a double digit lead.

    Can nothing stop his evil?

  11. Dylan H says:

    …What about Nader?

  12. darknostrils says:

Now it is easier to understand the election system. That chart really made it happen for me. Thanks!

p.s. Is there a chart for how many votes machines handle before they start overheating and smoking afterward? Oh. I didn’t mean it to come out that way. Sorry.

  13. NEOmusings says:

Too funny! I used to date a guy who wrote in “Mickey Mouse” every Presidential election (I kid you not). He was a little nuts, to put it mildly.

  14. Danyell says:

There have already been early voters in Virginia who said that the machines weren’t counting their votes. Guess who they intended to vote for! (I’ll give you a hint. It starts with an “O” and rhymes with “your mama”)

  15. Joe Biden says:

    McCain is a Mexican.

  16. Sarah Palin says:

    Yea, and im Asian.

  17. haha says:

    the simpsons!

  18. Rob says:

Wow, this must have been really funny before Obama won. Now y’all actually have to run a governement instead of spending 8 years whining about how the election was supposedly stolen. Of course, so far, all y’all have done is blame all your problems on the last president.
