so true – just proofed my nephew’s
True, indeed. Tell that to my student classmates, if only they’d realize….
In a scholarship essay, bragging *IS* relevant content.
Actually, it’s about 30-70 bragging and lying. I used to do college interviews and I read their essays first so i could do follow up. They would just fumble around trying to remember what they made up and often just confessed that the club they were “president” of, that was half of their essay, met once.
Don’t remind me….I have to do this again. Apparently I’m not good enough at ass kissing.
I imagine this will be similar to my Grad School essays.
Bragging and ass-kissing is the ONLY content relevant to a scholarship essay.
You lose.
If it was just generally college essays, it would fit better.
Then again, general college essays would be 50% helping all the poor little kids in Hurricane Katrina, some musical instrument, or a sport (in the case of most girls I know, dance or colorguard).
I’ve done a sob story…worked pretty good!
…it worked pretty “well”…
Wow. The entire college application process boiled down to a convenient pie chart.
Toootally true
