  1. KoS says:

    What’s a “peado”?

  2. Neil says:

Now here’s an interesting thing. The second biggest reason people delete their MySpace accounts is because of death. What, in their reasons for deleting it, they write, “Moving on from this world”? I didn’t know there were so many ghosts deleting their MySpace accounts!

And this graph forgot an important one: Girlfriend found out I was using it to meet other chicks.

    • Chairman Meow says:

HAHAHA!!! She said moving to Facebook was the biggest reason. Oooh snap!

    • jack mehoff says:

I thought on death people turned their myspace profile into a memorial profile.

I wonder if myspace should set up a cemetary.myspace.com site…

And yes, significant other discovering profile should be #1.

  3. Zababa says:

When I die I fully intend to come back from the dead and delete my presence from the Internet. Doesn’t everyone?

    • Neil says:

I’m just gonna haunt the internet and cause all sorts of weird things to pop up. I think I’ll be a cyberstalker for some cyberbully and let them know what it really feels like to have someone IN YOUR FACE — ghost-style! yeah.

  4. Angryhatter says:

also it spelled Failbook wrong, its clearly not spelt “Facebook”

  5. Mike says:

    How about:
Tired of phishing, spam, stalkers, and inability to focus on anything in people’s pages because they can’t help but to put 10 animated gifs throughout their page along with an annoying background and poor selection of a stylesheet.

  6. Amber says:

    Ditto Mike and:
Harassment from old boyfriends / people you hated in high school, completely random people friending you and sending messages, job search and not wanting your employer to see all the stupid crap people have written about you on your profile, the complete inefficiency of the website design.

  7. marenwin says:

You forgot “Becoming a Teacher,” when all your professors and potential employers are sure that access to social networking sites will make you want to molest your students.

    • Heather says:

      Win.

    • TehShay says:

I would like to comment that I am a teacher at a university, and that this is my first post-graduation job, and that my employers were very unlikely to have looked at my myspace.

      Because I have it private.

In addition to this, I am not stupid enough to put pictures of me drunk off my ass on my profile because I think they are funny. I know that despite of my best efforts to keep my “space” private, someone will inevitably get around it.

      • marenwin says:

TehShay, I am a teacher; a high school teacher, a setting in which the generally liberal mindset present at most universities in America is not so common.
In my interview prior to being placed for student teaching and several of my interviews after graduation I was commended for my lack of presence on both MySpace and Facebook.
One potential employer went so far as to say that one of the reasons I made it to the interview stage was that he was unable to FIND ME on any social networking sites. Not that my information was private, because that didn’t matter. What counted was that I was showing my “maturity and respect for the requirements of the profession” by refraining from using those sites.
My experience isn’t universal, I know that, but neither is yours. Teaching at a university is very different from teaching in a public school; I’ve done both. Though I will say that I was warned by my university professors about the possible effects that using any social networking site could have on my employability as a public school teacher…

    • Neil says:

marenwin: are you a teacher? i hope not, cuz ur grammar’s terrible! but I catch your drift.

but…. are you saying that NOT all teachers want to molest their students?? Huh. That’s weird. ;-)

  8. Don says:

When I first joined Myspace 3 years ago, there was a MySpace related murder about once a month. Probably still is like that.

  9. HollyS says:

You forgot “graduated from high school.”

  10. Amanda says:

Yeah my bad I missed a fair few off, although if I’d included the many many reasons for deleting your myspace then it would be a bit of an overcrowded graph.
With the high amount for death I was more hinting at how they’re all emos on there a lot of them will be killing themselves. Perhaps I should have titled it “Main reasons why people stop using myspace”.

    • Neil says:

thanks for the explanation, amanda! And, yeah, if you had made it “reasons whyp people stop using myspace” and included death in there, it would have been so morbid it would have been hilarious! but good graph anyway! :-)

  11. El oh el says:

    Lol, Facebook is soo n00b.

  12. thatgirlmay says:

um, facebook is still a networking site. that’s like saying “i quit eating donuts” but still ate cake.

  13. Neil says:

she forgot “boredom with the site.”

  14. laura says:

u forgot “causing drama in current relationship”… thats like #2

  15. Diablconcarne says:

    facebook=FAIL

  16. Alc says:

The main one missing is “realised the site was nothing more than a playground for vapid, self-obsessed cretins”, although admittedly the share would be imperceptibly small since nobody on MySpace ever thinks twice about it.

  17. Erm says:

No, peado is not an alternate spelling. It’s either pedohpile or paedophile. There’s no peadophile.

  18. Rob says:

Damn, it is SO true, that Facebook is the number one reason.

  19. lishie says:

i think you missed the really obvious just found out my ex is a freaky stalker category.
