Thats so sweet x]
Well, what did she say?
Say yes! Say yes! This is the most amazing proposal I’ve seen! Best of luck Paul & Carrie!
I agree!! Say “YES!”, Carrie & best of luck to you & Paul!!!!
say yes !!! say yes!!!!!
I say this.. She’d better be into these sites dude, or you’d better have been kneeling next to her while she checked out the site because.. I mean.. my girl friend would kill me if I was entertaining this notion of proposal..
Ren Fairs are out too
Or she’s a nerd and YOU DON’T WANT HER! RUN! RUN!
Is it just me or does this proposal look kinda like balls?
if she’s a nerd, get her before somebody else snaps her up
You’re girl friend is so uncool! I’m a chick and I would love to be proposed to at a Ren Fair or on a lols website ^^
This is the sweetest thing I’ve ever seen!
My husband proposed at a Ren Faire and it was beautiful. We went on to have a Ren style wedding and everyone keeps telling us how much they enjoyed themselves on that day (it’s been over three years).
Aaaaawwwww this is pretty adorable. I hope she said yes! Click my name for another adorable online proposal.
You know, if she says know we can just move this whole thing right over to fail blog
you mean if she says no
Word selection fail. If she says “know” that’d be pretty irrelevant.
FTW!
AWWWWW!! 8> soooo cute!
awwww
I hope she says yes, it’s not everyday that you see a proposal on graphjam
Totally stole my name.
Yeah! What’s up with that?
Dude!
I had to change mine out of shame
I don’t know what to think of this. You people are just making up names now!
Bow chicka bow wow!
Hey chicka bomp bomp.
everyone knows that blargh is spelled with a h.
I think she should’ve replied ASAP and said “FIRST!!!!!12121!!@!@@!”
wow, a proposal via GraphJam. cute. Hope she says yes!
first ever meme proposal?
win or fail yet to be determined
There was a proposal on I Can Has Cheezburger back in February.
I’ve seen one or two on Stuff on my Cat, as well. People love their internet proposals!
Also one on Stuffonmycat.com
And on CuteOverload.com
Cyanide & Happiness
I stand very corrected, good to know
Orly? I think I missed that one.
I wonder how many GraphJam-reading Carries there are who date a Paul?
lol. “yes paul, i’ll marry you!”
“wtf are you talking about”
Oh my god, that would be awesome.
I mean awful. *cough*
GraphJam meets Failblog?
A fail so epic it’s win?
Somebody get on this new graph. STAT.
should have been a scatter plot
ohh sorry I read that wrong… thought you said scatter SHOT… I was about to say no that comes before the proposal and after the discovery of the pregnancy.
I really hope this doesn’t end up as “PROPOSAL FAIL” on the fail blog.
good luck man, hope she says yeees!
Time to make it move. See below.
I hope I never have to resort to posting a proposal online.
My thoughts exactly! It would too much like the basketball game proposal fail except Paul probably wouldn’t get a hug and a beer from the mascot.
I saw that and I was appalled! How cold of her to walk out on him like that! He is too good for her! She could at least have made it appear that she might say yes instead of just walking out on him. How humiliating for him! Poor man. I hope Paul and Carrie are good together and are happy!
Meh. I sensed massive overcompensating in there.
How do you think she felt about him putting her on the spot like that. I would not be surprised if there were hundreds of people in that stadium who shared your opinion, so she practically had no choice. I respect her for being true to herself and not succumbing to the pressure. However, don’t think for a second that I am so cold as to not feel any sympathy for him; having a girl say, “No,” to you when you propose sucks in all situations. I’m just saying, cut the chick some slack, kthxbai.
The entire thing was actually staged. Apparently failed proposals are what pass for half-time entertainment.
If it were real though, really both parties were at fault.
Thanks all for your support and kind words. She said No, but all is still well between us.
. You guys are amazing.
A BIG thanks to Emily and Graphjam staff for taking time out of their days to make this possible
You can’t win them all, but here’s to trying!
sorry to hear! *huggles*
Sorry to hear. You would have totally got a yes from me. Long Live Nerd Love.
Amen Sarah. There’s just not enough Nerd Love in the world!
Nerd love ftw!
dont knock it till you try it :p
How could someone turn down a graphjam proposal posted on a popular website for millions to see?
because you risk ruining your life and the life of the one you love if you give the wrong answer.
That is teh suck. Sorry man, major geek points for trying this way though.
Hope things work out for the two of you.
Boy, you suck at life. Pull the trigger a little slower next time.
Buttwad! Get a life. YOU are a giant loser if all you have to do on a Saturday night is put someone else down for being romantic. Is this the only “outlet” that you have for “being cool”? If so, you are a giant “FAIL” b/c we all see you for who you really are……a giant LEACH to the happiness of life. Do us all a favor..and die.
Call him a LEECH, that’s the bloodsucking insect. Leach is my last name.
Online name WIN!
but biology FAIL: leeches are not insects
thank you so much for saying that.
Oh please be burn of the week. That was spectacular Mr Leach.
I agree, Beth! what a jerk! i don’t understand people who think they’re so cool for being assholes on the internet!
haha, good one bob.
oh look, a troll….
I said “no” twice before I finally said “yes” for good… 27+ years ago. I am glad my dear husband was patient with my indecision. You seem like a creative and fun guy. Blessings for your future.,
Years before we even started dating, my husband used to say “when we’re married……” and I I would always respond “I will never marry you.”
We got married almost two years ago. He showed me. I’m glad he didn’t give up on me.
Good luck to you, Carrie and Paul!!
that sucks man…… i hope you can find out another way for her to say yes!
she will totally say yes next time. don’t worry! this was a great idea though.
So sorry to hear that Paul. Don’t give up though…. The right woman IS out there. You’ll find her when you least expect it!
I’m sorry.
Paul, don’t worry. I said no at least 5 times over two years before I finally said yes. The most rewarding part about waiting (and not being impulsive like my first marriage) was something my mom said to me a few weeks back. “I really do think you’ve found your soul mate”.
But then again, they’ve been calling him “son” and referring to him as my husband since the first time he asked me. I guess they just like him…
Keep asking. Keep loving. Things will work out if it’s meant to be.
Sorry to hear that. It was a sweet idea *hugs*
Best wishes for the future, and maybe with time, eh?
I know some ppl that can make her “disappear” if you want. Just throwin’ that out there.
lol comment win! unless you’re being serious…in which case a highly disturbing comment
On the advice of my lawyers, I refuse to answer the question as it may serve to incriminate me.
o…….k……..
haha =]
Well played, sir!
Agreed Indubitably!
This Venn doesn’t make a whole lotta sense. Maybe a scatter plot would’ve gotten the job done. Sorry she said no.
I’m so sorry she said no, Paul. I was really hoping she’d say yes. You have a wonderful attitude. Best wishes to you.
sorry to hear that…dude….better luck next time….lol
Ha ha!
OOps! looks like u need to move pic from GraphJam to FailBlog
Hahaha
Sorry to hear the time wasn’t right for her. This really was so cute! I don’t know how much was said about marriage as a possibility before you sprang this on her, but as an engaged female in her 20s, I’m of the opinion that marriage is a HUGE commitment, as well as being a full on partnership. Memorable proposals are great, but because of what it represents, I think it’s essential to have discussed it previously and be certain of an answer.
Paul gets extra points for creativity!! Carrie, say yes, he’s a keeper!
I hope she says, “Yes, but that is technically an improper use of a venn diagram.”
…Stole my words!
First-reply-to-a-comments-list fail from me, but as I said way below, I can’t see what the fault is with the Venn diagram. Marriage is a union, and that is what Paul has graphed.
Way I see it, they’re not married yet, so their lives don’t yet fully overlap. JMO
ugh. knowing what a union is fail.
Awww! That’s so sweet! Nerd love is so cute!
No, Paul… I’m shtuppin’ your brother.
DOH!
Faithfulness fail
i wouldn’t have said yes to that…
laziest
proposal
evar
…and some man would be spared a lifetime of high-maintenance misery.
Too true. Bi’atch!
and some man would be spared a lifetime of living with someone over the age of 14 that uses the “word” EVAR
I agree, not even a colour change from the default.
Sorry to hear she said no.
Awwwww!!! I can’t belieeeeve she said no!! Paul, you can find someone better ANYWAY who can truly APPRECIATE you!!!! She sounds like a draaaag!
You’re win, she’s fail. Don’t ever give up on giving cute, fun, interesting things – especially when you’re putting yourself on the line – it’s so good for you!!!
Paul i’ll marry you or we can have drinks and burn her pictures.
Me, too! I mean, I’d be ok with just having drinks with you guys. You two can do whatever you like
count me in on the drinks
How awesome!!! Say yeeees!!!!!!!
aww I wish… I love my nerd!
*masturbates furiously*
LOL
I REALLY don’t want to know what you do at weddings ebaum! LOL tho bro
That is just SICK!!
This was supposed to be funny? I mean, I don’t come here to read personal messages, you know?
Besides, this guy wasn’t even proposing marriage. According to the diagram, only *PART* of their lives would intersect. That’s not marriage. That’s dating once a week! No wonder she said no!
Can we get back to humor now?
Get over yourself. There’s more to life than humour. Who cares that the graph was technically incorrect? It was a sweet idea, and it’s the thought that counts.
Jerk.
Paul, I’m sorry she said no – you seem like a great guy.
All the best for the future, hey?
YOU are right on!!
I don’t know Neil, it seems that the humor stops with you.
“According to the diagram, only *PART* of their lives would intersect. That’s not marriage. ”
So, being married, according to you, is like being in jail, huh?
Take note, chicas. This guy is devoted!
I think the purpose of this site is not to make you laugh, but rather to smile. I smiled when I saw this. No LOL, but a smile. And that’s good enough for me.
Neil,
You’re being pathetic. Get a life. This guy is just being creative. Sorry if he ruined your Saturday night thrills on the internet.
Seriously. Get a life.
Actually, the middle part of a Venn Diagram shows when those two things are together. This middle part is labeled “Will you marry me?”. So basically, Paul and Carrie get together, and he asks her to marry him.
Oh my christ, that is the sweetest fing thing I’ve ever seen.
Yes, Adam.
I’ll marry you.
<3
creative proposal idea
you has it
Ahmed get comment Win!
Hey, create it and submit it!
Sorry it didn’t work out. I’ve been there. I proposed and she accepted my money.
I would’ve said yes.
But would you have done the fandango?
(Predictable, yes, but I couldn’t pass up the Bohemian Rhapsody reference)
Ow. Ow, ow, ow. But awesome!!!
marriage = EPIC DATING
Sorry to hear that Paul.
So creative, though. ((hugs))
Too bad she said no… cute idea for a proposal though!
aww how cute… i hate all happy people and think they should all be executed
(oh not really but they piss me off)
So now that she said no, who’s going to make this into a marriage fail?
Or a Pie chart: “Responses to Graphjam marriage proposals”
Paul,
-
I’m sorry to hear she said no.
When I first saw this, I thought it
had to do with a show or movie or
something, and then I realized it was
a REAL proposal. I AM pleased to hear
that things are still well between the two
of you, it would be a shame if this caused
any turmoil between you. Perhaps in the
future, things may turn out well for you.
-
I am in love with a woman who is having
a hard time loving me back. I lost her trust,
and I felt like I failed her… But I mean to make
things right between us again. The worst thing I
did was not keep my promise to see her. It took
a very long time for us to get where we are, and
now that we’re here…. She still loves me, I know it,
but it’s hard for her to say it. I hope my persistence
with her and our situation will prove to her how much
I really care. I’m dedicated to her, and I hope she can
see it. Here’s to love, Paul. You and I both need some
good luck, in nearly the same area. Take care, dude.
- Rajazel
omg how sweet! you sound like a good guy Raja, good luck to you adn to Paul, i hope you both have good luck!
It was totally cute. Shame she said no, but I would ask if that is negotiable and probably try to sort it out with a ring.
Good luck Paul, hope she says yes one day.
fail
This is the most pathetic thing I have ever seen. I understand people trying to do something different for getting married, but to make a graph? At least go to a baseball game and pay to have it announced on the screen if you aren’t smart enough to hack your girlfriends favorite video game. This is just plain pathetic.
I should have read some of the other messages first. I’m not surprised she said no. If this is your idea of imagination, no wonder she said no.
Douchebag.
You is one.
Sniffle…I’m so hurt.
Hey, maybe we shoud encourage idiocy? It sure seems to be working for you…
I for one fail to see you encourage people to propose at a baseball game which is the epic fail of all proposals and did not like this one, a totally new way of doing things. Critique FAIL.
Creative use of media WIN!
Technically Paul’s Venn diagram is correct. A marriage is a holy UNION after all, and that’s what the graph shows.
i don’t know why everyone keeps saying this is wrong. marriage is sharing your life with another person, not turning into them. you have to keep your own identity separate for a marriage to really work.
Man, no offence, but if you’re going propose, seriously, dress it up a bit! The graph does look boring as is.
My parents were engaged and broke up several times before they finally did get married, and they’ve been together 48 years so far…we’re starting plans for their Golden Anniversary in 2010!
Best of luck to you, Paul and Carrie, for whatever will be the best outcome for you both. Thanks for sharing this with all of us! You both ROCK!!!
I’m not Carrie… but thanks for showing interest in my secondary sexual characteristics!
she said no because she’s been sleeping with your brother.
I really think that it was a good way to propose. She can think about it and when she says YES she will really mean it. If she says No then he can move on and not be embarrassed.
No worries, Paul.
Next time make her ask you.
Cheers.
While this may not be original in the eyes of the Internets, to a normal person this could be perceived as creative. I wish the best to both Paul and Carrie.
ei dude, even she said no, you’re still cool. I’d say persistence pays. so I were the guy, I’ll think of another way. There’s so many ways. Good luck and God bless to that!
cheers!
Okay, 5 bucks to the first person to propose in this comment thread.
bloobeard, will you marry me?
…Win?
Where do I send the cheque? Oh, and no, I could never marry someone who doesn’t capitalise their name. I am sure that you are otherwise quite nice.
Yeah! And he should capitalize it as well!
We should get married. We have the same standards.
no
LOLCat proposal = Yes
Graphjam proposal = No
Conclusion: Cute kitties are more conducive to successful marriage proposals than Venn diagrams.
You should make a chart.
Best Sven Diagram yet.
Paul got roflstomped.
Paul,
How many times have I told you, you really need to work a little harder at this romance thing? I mean.. a chart with two circles and two names? WHat about the families? What about a heart chart? What about some sparkle? Where’s the ring? Carrie said no because she knows that this is how you do EVERYTHING. A little bit of promise, but no follow through, man. You gotta put in the effort. Remember that big idea you had? The one that you didn’t follow through on? That you gave to me to play with because you were bored with it? ANd then got pissed when I made $500k selling it and didn’t give you any? You’re a smart guy, but you can do better than this. You know I love ya, bro. Just step up your game.
(okay, not actually Paul’s older bro or even related to Paul in any way, shape or form).
Thankyou, Internet Socrates. Any more assumptions presented as truths for us today?
Wait. Just. A. Minute.
You’re not actually Paul’s brother?
*gasp*
I couldn’t tell!
I WILL MARRY YOU PAUL!!1
That is sweet
Dude. Do a screen-saver next. Don’t give up. Nerd rules!
After 150+ posts in this thread, what do you think the chances are of your message getting through?
Make a graph
I’m surprised there haven’t been more people saying they’re Carrie.
commitment, your doing it right, best of luck
Grammar: You’re doing it wrong.
coolest thing ever!
aww thats so sweet
Awwwwwwww!
Lame. Good answer, Carrie.
Sorry she said No but can you blame her? A proposal is supposed to be a special, private moment for 2 people. Not something that happens on the Internet for the whole damn world to see.
Tell that to the people that propose at concerts/sporting events/restaurants.
If you’ve got a girl/guy dorky enough to share an enjoyability over this site and lulz are had all around, well, why the hell not?
I’d have said yes….
So is a marriage, but crazy bride-zillas won’t let the beginning of a marriage occur without a ridiculous amount of fanfare and planning and obsessiveness and as big a guest list as they can afford. Bells and whistles all around. They want ceremony and something memorable and something that gives everyone an opportunity to stop by and congratulate her. So, in my mind, I see nothing wrong with a guy (or a girl, seeing as this is the 21st century) taking the same public, bells-and-whistles approach to a proposal.
I feel sorry for all of the other Paul’s who have a girlfriend named Carrie. awkwardddddd!
unless of course she said yes and that’s what he wanted.
Lies, damned lies and statistics.
Yes I am a mathematician. See if he had done an expression it wouldve worked. but – Paul…unlucky man.
hey chicka bomp bomp
You promised you would leave him for me though!
I hope she says yes! If my bf did this, I would! Let’s hope you don’t have to move this to failblog
FAIL!!!!
…but sorry paul. better luck next time…
no one gives a crap
