What about:
1. They might be rain
2. They might be heat
3. They might be frying up a stalk of wheat
4. They might be brain
5. They might be washed
6. They might be Dr. Spock’s backup band
7. They might be bald
8. They might be snow
9. They might be something else in the snow
10. They might be big
11. They might be fake
12. They might be big, big, fake, fake lies
Exactly what I was thinking. (Now I have this song in my head.)
We can’t be silent
’cause they might be giants
and what are we going to do unless they are
(It’s been in my head all day!)
10. They might be fake
11. They might be lies
Oops! Good catch.
Bohemoths? Are those giants from the medieval region corresponding with the modern-day Czech Republic?
The illiteracy just goes to show that this horrible band is reaching their target demographic.
(scratches head at unfunny comment)
It’s a very large mythical monster mentioned in the Bible. Calling something or someone a “behemoth” implies that they are very big.
It was spelled wrong in the graph.
Cry about it.
Actually if you look it up both spellings are correct.
It’s homophonic. It’s like saying “morning” and “mourning” are the same thing.
How could you?!?!?
I’m mad and laughing at the same time.
I’m pretty sure they’re named after the movie, actually.
That’s what I always thought, and why this graph confuses and disturbs me.
That’s what they said on Letterman when he asked about the name. Specifically, they said they named it after a really awful movie called…
I kind of liked the movie, actually. Then. When I was a high-schooler.
It’s the title of a movie about a guy who thinks he’s Sherlock Holmes, which takes its title from Don Quixote: “Just then they came in sight of thirty or forty windmills that rise from that plain. And no sooner did Don Quixote see them that he said to his squire, ‘Fortune is guiding our affairs better than we ourselves could have wished. Do you see over yonder, friend Sancho, thirty or forty hulking giants? I intend to do battle with them and slay them. With their spoils we shall begin to be rich for this is a righteous war and the removal of so foul a brood from off the face of the earth is a service God will bless.’”
*bummed*
I always hoped it was from the Principia Discordia quote:
“A Discordian is anyone willing to look at the windmills and concede that they might be giants.”
I think that they would make fine Discordians.
Gross. they might be lame.
I know, I’m gonna get killed for this, but I like They Might Be Giants. I actually think they’re a pretty clever band, and they slip some nice jokes into some of their songs. I’ve certainly heard a lot worse. Maybe I just have poor taste, but I think you could get MUCH dumber than They Might Be Giants.
Thank you, at least some of us have good music taste
I like them as well!
I know, response to a two year old comment! Get off my back.
I rank They Might Be Giants among my favorite bands. Other people can’t stand them. No big whoop. I’m not going to try and convince them otherwise.
(resists commenting on Jonas Brothers)
Isn’t that how most music (or most anything for that matter) is? Either you like it or don’t… Everyone has different tastes and that’s the point of having such a variety.
In reality, yes. On the Internet, if you don’t like what someone else likes (or like what they don’t), you are threatening to them and they must attack you to varying degrees.
Just try mentioning that you don’t like Radiohead, for instance, and they’ll go after you, your entire family, and your pets.
I loved the movie!
i LOVE this band!!! they’re so ridiculously clever, i can’t stand it! it and i actually like the fact that a lot of people hate them. it’s kind of upsetting when you first think about it, but then you have to remember, wouldn’t it suck to hear them all the time and see everyone talking about how much they “love” the new TMBG album or whatever? i would rather everyone in the world but me hate them than lots of people conforming and saying they like Them when they really don’t. but maybe i’m just crazy
You love H2G2 AND TMBG … you are worthy.
