Ummm… …Our sun doesn’t have enough mass to super-nova. It MAY go nova (Without the super part), but even that isn’t entirely likely. Just commenting on the terms used. The sentiment’s still true enough. If Sun = Dead, then Earth = Dead.

Let me point something out before you hurt yourself. Time Dilation would only effect you at very close ranges to the black hole. Besides, there is already a supermassive black hole in the center of the galaxy, and it hasn’t sucked up 1/3 of it yet. Yet…. MUAHAHAHAHA! By the time one was made, Hawking radiation would destroy it before it had the chance to add more to itself.

You fail at physics. If it collapses it loses mass. And it’s a gravitational collapse that creates a black hole, not just a collapse. And by your logic there should be no black holes whatsoever if stars retained their mass and gravitational pull.

To suggest that two particles smashed together tight enough to make a black hole would somehow create a larger gravitational pull than if they smashed together and didn’t create a black hole is somewhat preposterous.

Think of it this way: if the sun suddenly collapsed into a black hole would we get sucked into it? No. There is the same amount of mass there which causes the same gravitational pull which means we would continue orbiting around a singularity where the sun USED to be like nothing happened…except it would be dark…all the time…like Alaska during the winter…above the Arctic Circle…

HMMM I don’t know – it probably hasn’t even been created because maybe the fact that if there was a black hole created, we’d all be dead by now, squeezed into the size less than the head of a hairpin. Black holes – even if small could swallow up at least 1/3 of the milky way by its first appearance, and grows exponentially with all the mass it swallows. :/

Gah, there’s a CHANCE it will produce black holes. But it’s quantum physics. There’s a chance it will produce a three headed dragon.

Secondly, they’re colliding Protons, I’m fairly sure. Proton collision happens in nuclear explosion, and nuclear reactors itself. If that created black holes that were ANY threat whatsoever, we would have destroyed the earth when we nuked Japan, when we started up the first Nuclear reactor, and so on.

A hadron is just a proton by itself, if I’m not mistaken. It’s not dangerous!
