    Heh. It’s funny because it’s so true…

  2. Andrew B says:

What are you talking about? Yoda spoke with fine grammar, just in Anastrophe, which gramatically correct. What a lame graph.

  3. Mike C says:

Now this is a good graph. Bravo, Paul U.

  4. khaine says:

    What about LOLcat?

  5. Steven says:

What is wrong with Yoda’s grammar? Word placement is considered grammar now?

  6. tudza says:

If you look at several Yoda sentences, I believe you will find that his sentence structure does wonder around a bit. I don’t think anastrophe covers what he is doing to the English language when he speaks. Nor does he seem to be speaking English with say Japanese sentence structure, some sentence seem to follow that pattern and others don’t.

In any case, I would suggest “Spam email composer” be added to this graph.

  7. sean says:

yoda as an occupation + calling yoda’s grammar bad = win

  8. Joey Y says:

And, Yoda participated in a Gangster Rapper:

“I’m Yoda, I’m a soldier (sold-ja). I’m low to the floor (flowja), I thought I told ya (toldja). Don’t be unwise, judge me not by my size. You won’t believe your eyes, watch the X-wing rise.”

    (We got Deathstar!)

  9. Joey Y says:

And, Yoda participated in a Gangster Rapper:
(It appears that graphjam will not let me put links in my post today. To see the Star Wars Gangsta Rap, search for it on Newgrounds [recommended] or Youtube.)

    • Joey Y says:

I meant, of course, that Yoda participated in a Gangster Rap, as a Gangster Rapper.

(Now, where is that graph about failure to proofread correlating with IQ?)

  10. Max says:

Indeed funny this graph is, hm?

  11. mgerson says:

You failed to include President of the United States

  12. Warren.Sensei says:

Actually, Yoda uses the basic forms of Latin word order, which is usually anastropic, but not exclusively since in Latin, being an inflected language, most of the “grammar” is taken care of in the word endings. This was chosen purposefully to simultaneously make him ancient and otherworldly feeling in his very speech pattern.

  13. ULAMSS5 says:

Yoda just says the object, verb first, then whether “you have” or “you have not”. Example is, “You have not taken the cat out for a walk” becomes “take the cat out for a walk, you have not”. it in a way lets the receiver know what yoda is talking about first, before yoda adds in the “extra” details.

  14. Stdent of Doom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11 says:

I remember my English teachers saying that Yoda had better grammar than most people they’ve met.

  15. Hannah says:

Any STAR WARS fan would know that Yoda translated his language into ours so he could learn it and that’s how it was translated so that’s how he learned it.
ex. “When 900 years old you reach, look as good you will not.”(Episode 6: Return Of The Jedi) Whereas we would say “You will not look as good when you reach 900 years old.”
