People can complain about Grammar and Graph Nazis, but IMHO it's the graphs that have a humorous element AND are well executed that are the funniest. To your point about pie charts though, they can be pretty damn boring. Personally prefer stacked 100% columns. Imagine showing how the percentage changed over time using 4 stacked 100% columns. Then the y-axis could be "% of time spent thinking about getting to...." I’ve got to agree.
