  1. Maggie says:

    i didn’t know that garlic killed germs…

  2. sociallysimple says:

Why was this made? Is it supposed to be funny? Or interesting? Maybe informative, but, why?

  3. Heather says:

Things that understand how Venn Diagrams work….

  4. bspinky says:

    Fail…

  5. Neil says:

    This is fantastic!

  6. Rachel of Cyberia says:

I dunno why, but holy water burns when I try to ingest it

  7. Kate says:

Note to self: buy garlic pills. Also keeps mosquitoes away, I hear.

  8. Craig says:

So you can’t ingest penicillin? Sucks to be one of the many people who have taken it over the years, then.

  9. Not_you says:

this graph borders on the brilliant. not quite, but damn close.

    good job.

  10. Phae says:

    So you ingest sunlight…?

  11. D-Mac says:

Well done! Someone who understands how these things work!

    • tweece says:

yes! someone who finally understands that garlic is simultaneously penicillin, holy water, & sunshine!

      • Alcar says:

        FAIL

        Or to elaborate:
Garlic is in each major group, but you don’t have to write it down in each group, in fact, it’s customary not to. So, while each overlap of 2 groups also contains Garlic, it is again customary not to write it there.

Germs and Ingesting both contain Penicillin, and Garlic. But group Vampire doesn’t have penicillin, so it’s not put into the middle. Garlic is in all groups, so it does go there.

Nowhere does it imply that Garlic = pennicillin. If you wanted to be complete (and make the diagram illegible) you could add Garlic to each section, in which case you could say that Garlic=Garlic.

Of course, nobody does that, because people who know how Venn diagrams work allready read that by default.

That concludes our class for the today, and i will go and collect my “Longest post of the month” award.

  12. rosekathleen says:

    Ok, this is great.

  13. gnosis says:

If I ingest penicillin, I die. I guess the bacteria die too, though, but I think me dieing defeats the purpose.

  14. dian113 says:

Oh great graph! The comments above were fun too, esp. the person who said holy water burns when she ingests it. :) Good to see a humorous entry that’s also a well-done graph. The graphier, the bettter!

  15. snafutti says:

    I want this on a T-shirt!!!!11!!1eleven!!!

  16. binnie says:

    soooo basicaly garlis iz god….

    i knew it! >.<

  17. ekiM says:

For about 5 minutes, I thought that said “Things that kill Germans”. It made sense like that, too.

  18. I don’t know why everybody is wasting so much time trying to explain Venn diagrams. You should be out there getting garlic to prepare for the future. Seriously. The only reason I could leave this comment was because I’m between cloves.

  19. Pom Rania says:

    I want this on a t-shirt too.

  20. Ms. Valit says:

I wouldn’t advise ingesting holy water. Especially if it’s from in front of the entrance to the church/sanctuary. People have been touching that stuff, and how do you know if they’ve washed their hands? “Holy” is not the same as “sanitary” or “safe to ingest”.
